Zaouli's may end up being a bit divisive in the community, it is a bit chonky in both feel and looks, but the perk pool is undeniably great. My Explosive Payload/Incandescent roll is absurdly effective and may end up replacing the Calus Mini Tool as my Solar 3.0 weapon of choice. The origin trait, Runneth Over, allows for massive clips in group activities which is nice on a trash clearing weapon.

All that being said, I don't think Zaouli's will be my go to HC just yet. My Timelost Fatebringer with Explosive/Firefly is still feels a lot better to use and I'm sure others will have trouble turning away from their favorites for Zaouli's. I think the Adept version of Zaouli's Bane (Harrowed) will really benefit from the adept stability or range mods.

If you're looking for a unique solar trash clearing monster, Zaouli's Bane is the gun for you, just don't expect it to be a workhorse in every situation.

I think I'm weird for loving this handcannon in pvp. I even like it more than my pali! explosive payload and eye of the storm are great combos especially in a flinch resistance meta we find ourselves in. that combo on my fatebringer and now this gun as well are just such great dueling weapons. This will be the first raid weapon i craft hands down.

PvE- Brilliant. Other than the reload speed, I can’t think of a single complaint because Explosive Payload/Incandescent crafted roll makes this a legendary Sunshot, and frankly one of the best ad clear weapons I’ve used.

PvP- I’ll preface this by saying I play on console, but the handcannon is just not great. I’ve already amassed over 1100 kills with this in crucible alone and I’ve decided, despite what others may suggest, it’s just outclassed. I find the flinch that Explosive Payload provides isn’t very viable in our current Resilience/Flinch Resist meta, and frankly its base stats are practically all below Austringer, Eyasluna and all the other forefront handcannons people are using. The recoil, even when at 100 recoil direction, is atrocious, and the gun is clunky and feels awkward to fire, as I constantly feel I shouldn’t be firing it at speeds I would normally fire another 140 RPM at to try to account for the odd recoil. It’ll serve you decently depending on what you choose to craft, but it’s not going to be anyone’s meta anytime soon.

This was my favorite handcannon in d1. I've waited for this handcannon to come back for a long time. I considered it the best in d1 and its what I did the best with. The reload never seemed like an issue for me. In destiny 2 the perks it can have makes it even stronger. Even the slowest reload roll here is faster than d1 and it throws off my muscle memory. This gun can compete with Fatebringer honestly with it's rolls. The recoil is amazing to control even without narrowing it in from chambered compensater. I have an explosive payload incandescent along with already 3k plus kills. Other than the gun not being a 120, at 140 its phenomenal. Many people complained about in d1 and said it was bad or just couldn't handle the reload. People are complaining in d2 as well, however most of the community now says its reload is fine. There are magazines on it too that give it even faster reload. It's genuinely fast the animation just looks slow despite not being slow. I might be a bit biased, however to me this has become the best handcannon in the game. It feels like I'm writing a love letter right now to this gun. Even if you had bad experiences in d1 with it, just give it a try again now.
I wanted to give it a 5 out of 5 in pvp but it didnt register the input
I consider it a monster in pvp too

Currently Running an explosive payload firefly build, but for you warlocks, pugilist incandescent if you wanna spam solar snap is damn near perfect.

The combo of Explosive Payload and Incandescent makes this a legendary Sunshot in PvE. It has already become my go to solar build weapon to pair with whatever exotic the situation calls for. The add clearing capabilities are insane, and the only real area it is lacking is that the reload speed is not great by default (lol, classic Zaoulis Bane). If crafting one, I would definitely lean into getting the reload speed as high as possible.

I have not really tried it out in pvp, but the stats/perk combos make me think its going to really struggle in the world of Palindromes, Cantata, and Annual Skates already in the 140 energy category.

Everybody's giving the Explosive/Incandescent roll very justifiable hype, but I would suggest taking a moment to enjoy Pugilist/Demolitionist as well, if it either drops for you or you'd like to craft it. It lets you spam your abilities even further on whatever class you choose and feels like it has the power of many of my favorite Warlock builds without needing to spend all my mod slots on it.

It does all the ad-killing you need it to in mid-level content and lets you toss your abilities very freely, even without dedicating your whole build to ability regen. Lots of fun and I recommend giving it a spin.

Never thought I'd say this, but for me this thing absolutely dethroned Fatebringer. It's Solar, it can roll with Explosive Payload, Firefly and Incandescent, and most of all, it is craftable. Unlike Fatebringer it isn't guaranteed to roll with a god roll in its adept version, but I feel like most people agree that crafted weapons with enhanced traits are better than adept weapons with, well, adept mods.

With all of the Season 22 buffs, Zaouli's is the definitive PvE Hand Cannon. It may not have the best stats, the best model, the best sounds, or the best Origin Trait, but its perk pool sets it apart.

The most popular roll you're going to see is Explosive Payload and Incandescent. Payload gives ~13% more damage and a ton more range (the split damage doesn't have dropoff), and Incandescent makes everything go boom. S-tier perk combo. Apparently, this thing can also roll Pugilist in the left column--this makes it PERFECT for Sunbracers or really any melee exotic.

PvP-wise, the low stats compared to other HCs really doesn't do it any favors, and the perk pool is rather limited when it comes to Guardian vs Guardian. The chunky model can also somewhat obscure your view, so it loses some points in the PvP department.

Altogether, really good PvE Hand Cannon. Not great in PvP, but it's not built for PvP.

I'm confused why nobody is mentioning enhanced surrounded on this thing. With explosive payload and surrounded+ with spec, that should be roughly 90% (30% expl and 47% surrounded+ spec) more damage on body shots and 63% on crits... all for being near 3+ enemies (assuming expl payload is still 11% on crits). Like incandescent is cool and all but I'm crafting mine to get a free 60% + dmg buff in pve.

You definitely should always go with flarewell or appended on this handcannon, I don't recommend tactical as much because its split between mag capacity and reload speed and I think its better to go fully into one or the other.

Crafted the weapon myself. I use a hammer forged, flared magwell, explosive rounds , incandescent with a reload masterwork. I went for reloaad speed becase the gun stats are similar to the thorn (which I use most of the time) so I dont't need to worry about hitting my shots and with all statbonus on the reload speed it is no longer takes a year to reload the magazine.. I don't have enhanced perks yet, but even without them the gun is really powerful. I highly recommend it.

One of the hand-cannons ever. The PvE roll makes sunshot obsolete, and there are some really nice PvP options as well. Enhanced perks will only improve its effectiveness/ease of use, bringing an already beefed 140 to even greater heights. PS: Lower your FOV a few points if the recoil feels funky in duels, Crimson/Thorn have similar issues at max, and bringing it down can alleviate the feeling that the gun is slapping you in the face when it fires.

Though in terms of stats this weapon isn't thaaat great (being outclassed by Fatebringer, Eyasluna and Austringer in almost every category save for Airborne Effectiveness), the perk combinations this hand cannon provide are sure to place it as a favourite for many players, both in the crucible or varied PvE activities.

For PvP it seems like the best perk combos are going to be a mix of Explosive Payload/Opening Shot on the third column and Eye of the Storm in the fourth column, though "Pugilist" or "Gutshot Straight" may find themselves on some niche uses depending on player builds/playstyle.

For PvE, the perk combo of Explosive Payload and Firefly makes this Hand Cannon a solar version of Fatebringer, tho my bet is most people (myself included) will rock this with the Incandescent perk to boost solar builds, as this is (at the time of Season 18) the only Hand Cannon able to run the perk.

The biggest plus of this gun, honestly, is the fact you can craft it. Which means it's both RNG protected (provided you run the raid enough times) and fully customizable.

Without a doubt the best pve energy 140 hand cannon. Has a combination of some of the best pve perks in the game and is essentially a solar Fatebringer that trades some of Fatebringer's stats for one of the best intrinsic perks in the game. And it is craftable, to boot.

Pve obviously a monster. Pvp gutshot sets it apart. Will 2 crit 1 body most resiliency, 4 body easily kills 10 res! Much more forgiving if you drop a crit or two.

This is the best legendary ad clear primary in the game in my opinion. It has more range than its smg competitors while also shredding everything after hand cannons got repeated buffs over the past few seasons. Explosive Payload + Incandescent is the best overall roll but I recommend trying out Explosive Payload + One for All for under level content

This thing has an amazing perk pool. Fucking amazing. The reload is questionable but with some investment, it really isn't as bad as some say. This things ability to wipe out crowds like a legendary sunshot has left me wondering why we haven't seen more Explosive + incandescent weapons around. Then I use and I remember, because this thing is fucking insane. This is one of the greatest weapons in the sandbox, far and away exceeding even the supposed "Zaouli's killer" Epochal integration. This HC is irreplacable... At least until its replaced.

This gun is leaning on my end mostly to PvP due to Explosive + Incandescent where replaces Sunshot if using its Adept Counterpart (Big Ones Spec). And Well of Radiance spam or Maximum Kaboom levels. I give them Sunshot/10 Kaboom for GM levels.

For the PvP. I give them 3 > 4 stars because its a 140.
Usually I stick with Firefly + Opening Shot. Or explosive + Eye of storm.
And the way skilled players, Well Rounded + Storm. There is a lot of great combinations for PvP to choose from. Its all about configuration taste and potential milking.

Base Handling is 46 which its Decent for 140 HC. I never had any complaints in both PvE and PvP configs.

This is the hands down PVE go-to solar legendary primary to run if you cant run Sunshot. Explosive Payload+Incandecent make this gun a serious workhorse in any solar build or really in general.
