Roll Appraiser + DIM Integration

• How does the Roll Appraiser + DIM Integration work?

• The new integration between the Roll Appraiser and DIM has three main features:

  1. Any items you have previously tagged in DIM will now show their tags in the Roll Appraiser.
  2. You can now filter by an item's DIM tag
  3. You can update an item's DIM tag within the Roll Appraiser itself, without having to swap between apps

  

  Additionally, light.gg Heroic members gain access to advanced automation features (more on that below).

• What are "tags"? I just use DIM to move my items around?

• Tags are a feature in DIM that help organize your inventory. Within DIM, tagging your rolls adds an indicator over the weapon's icon so you can tell at a glance which weapons in your inventory you want to Keep, get rid of (Junk), etc. You can then use the tag: filter to quickly identify your rolls by how you've categorized them.

  

  Available tags include:

  • Favorite
  • Keep
  • Infuse
  • Junk
  • Archive
• What do I need to do to enable the integration?

• Nothing! If you are signed into an account that has authorized both light.gg and DIM to access your profile, any existing tags should appear automatically and any changes you make in the Roll Appraiser should make their way into DIM seamlessly.

• You said I can tag my items from within the Roll Appraiser. How do I do that?

• Click on any roll, then the weapon preview sidebar will have an option at the bottom. If you've already tagged the item, it will show your tag. If you haven't, it will say "Tag in DIM".

  Either way, click that option, and you will be presented with a toast to change the item's tag:

  

• How do I filter by my tags?

• Click the Hamburger menu icon in the top left, then click Filters. Under the DIM Tags category, select which tags you want to show or hide.

  As a reminder, in filter lists, means 'Required', means 'Allowed, but not Required', and means 'Excluded'.

• You said something about advanced automation. How's that work?

• As an added perk for supporting the site, light.gg Heroic members gain access to an additional feature around this integration: automatic tagging.

  Once enabled, every minute the Roll Appraiser will identify any rolls that match the Popularity Rank ranges you establish and automatically update their tags in DIM, without requiring any interaction from you.

• Sounds interesting, but I'm not a heroic member. How do I become one?

• You can support the site and gain access to this new automation by subscribing to light.gg on Patreon.

  Subscriptions start at $2.00 per month, grant you ad-free browsing, and other additional features depending on your Tier.

• How do I enable the automation?

• NOTE: This automation will override any existing tags you have for items that match the Popularity Rank ranges you set!

  We strongly recommend making a backup of your DIM data prior to enabling the automation.

  • You can do this by going to Settings > Sync & Backups > Backup & Import in DIM.

  To enable the automation, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Hamburger menu icon in the top left, then click Settings.
  2. Under the Automation category, check the box next to which tags you want to automatically apply ( Keep or Junk).
     • If you've never enabled the automation before, a warning dialog will display explaining how the automation works and the gotchas around it. Click that you understand to continue.
  3. For each tag you choose to enable, be sure to pick the minimum and maximum Popularity Ranks you want to automatically tag.
  4. That's it!
• Does this automation only work on new rolls? I've got 500 guns in my vault!

• The first time the automation runs, it will tag all weapons in your inventory based on the ranges you set.

  From there, the automation will check your inventory once a minute and tag any new rolls it sees that match your criteria.

• What if I want to change the tag for an item that matches my automation rules? Will it constantly override my changes?

• No, the automation will only attempt to change the tag for any given unique item once. If you change the tag after that, it will not be overriden.

• How will I know the automation is working? I want to keep an eye on what it's up to!

• Every time the Roll Appraiser automatically tags rolls, a new entry will be added to your Activity Stream.

  • To summon the Activity Stream, click the Hamburger menu icon in the top left, then click Activity Stream.

• I set up the automation, but it's only tagging my weapons while the Roll Appraiser is open. What gives?

• Currently, the automation requires the Roll Appraiser be open in order to run.
