Fantastic addition to the Strand arsenal. Not sure why people would put Sword Logic on a primary weapon for PVE (you're not killing champs or bosses with this thing) - I crafted mine with enh. Rewind Rounds and Precision Instrument which gives it a great consistent buff on enemies that take more than a few shots to kill (similar to Rewind/ Target Lock on my Rufus, but faster damage ramp-up time). I also want to give Golden Tricorn a shot due to its synergy with the Cursed Thrall origin trait. I put Arrowhead and Ricochet rounds on mine with Range masterwork, just for slightly better stats, I'm sure there are other nice combos with the first two columns.

I just got this one, and if you use this with strand + unraveling rounds fragment, perks don't even matter, this origin trait its already enough, very good pve weapon

Dark horse recommendation for this is build is (your preference for 3rd column but i like surplus) and Golden Tricorn, especially if you have way of generating melee or grenade energy to keep golden tri alive (i use Verity's Brow plus Tessellation Fusion rifle just for grenade boosting). The loop for me is to get some stacks of Death Throws and then get GTx1 then you are good to start grapple melee chaining - melee kill means you get unravel rounds too so this thing goes hard w/ GTx2/Unraveling then since your killing unraveled targets a tangle will spawn and you can use it to keep procing death throws and GTx2 while your a maelstrom of bullets and threads

My first drop of this feels good, with Surplus and Golden Tricorn. Arrowhead brake straightens the recoil very well, and the bonus stability from Surplus makes for smooth shooting. Having another Strand gun with Golden Tricorn is PERFECT with the origin trait, Cursed Thrall. Strand classes typically have multiple charges on their melee abilities (which also works well with Surplus) or built-in recharge on their melee, allowing for it to be liberally used without needing heavy investment. This means you can easily get melee kills to activate Cursed Thrall, including at range with Broodweaver and Threadrunner, and go ham with what amounts to Dragonfly that procs on even non-precision kills.

The gun has a good sound and feels nice to fire, but damn-it's fucking UGLY. All of the Crota's End guns stuggle to look presentable with shaders. Vault of Glass guns suffer from just being old gun models with a fun Vex-y bits added; but those old models are still good designs and the extra Vex features added well in small walls. But the Hive-bone plating on these? Horrible. It clashes with the retro-futuristic styling of the original gun far too much. A bit of D1 aesthetic that does not survive well into D2. This doesn't detract from the gunplay, but still something to bitch about.

I hope to get more rolls and test more traits, especially Sword Logic. Even better to get the full pattern. For now, the gun I got has and will be very fun to play around with on my Broodweaver.

This is my new favorite scout rifle for pvp. i crafted a keep away/Precision Instrument roll and it has been doing great. it three taps everyone fast and can be forgiving. i do find myself losing to hung jury at mid distance to long range but for the most part i win most duals and 2v1. ive tried rapid fire/kill clip and rapid fire/Precision Instrument and which both felt good but the keep away/Precision Instrument gave me the best results

Rounding out Bungies seemingly furious effort to release a Strand Scout Rifle for every archetype, Fang of Ir Yut completes the collection as quite possibly the best of the lot. For PvP, pairing Keep Away, Rapid Hit, or Killing Wind with Opening Shot, Kill Clip, or Precision Instrument is a solid idea. For PvE, Rapid Hit and Rewind Rounds are both excellent, with column 4 options including Sword Logics huge buff, Kill Clips more modest but consistent buff, Hatchlings Strand Synergy... there is a lot to love about Fang, and unless you despise rapid fire Scouts in general, theres something for everyone in here.

First off: I’m sorry, Crota. Ever since D1, I thought the weapons from your Raid were uninspiring, cumbersome, and downright ugly. But Fang of Ir Yût has shown me the error of my ways. It is a worthy Rapid Fire Scout in PvP.

Arrowhead/Ricochet/Keep Away/Precision Instrument, with Range MW. It had no business getting so many kills, but the combination makes it such an efficient lane clearer. I went Ballistics for a little nudge to the stats, but Counterbalance works; the 79 recoil direction with Arrowhead alone is manageable enough, though.

Aesthetic tip: the standard Hive green is pretty drab. Mercury Prophetic shader from Curse of Osiris makes Fang gorgeous!

I've gotten two rolls of this. Surplus/Opening is a roll that you are able to have, but I wouldn't recommend it. Surplus feels good, but Opening Shot is...present.

I haven't tried my Rewind/Sword Logic roll, but I imagine Sword Logic is going to make the gun feel better. As a rapid-fire, you're going to take multiple shots to down targets as it is. I don't have any amazing insights here, other than "a damage perk would be nice". Good sound and feel to the weapon, very easy to control. Pulls to the left natively (and noticeably), but Counterbalance levels it out a bit, though it still pulls a tad to the right. Really would like to have Arrowhead on here to help out handling and recoil as well.

Feels fine in PVP. My roll has good consistency, but lacks damage perks. This is fine, since you're typically not relying that much on kill-based perks in trials/comp. For sixes, Tunnel Vision/Kill Clip is right there, and is a fantastic combo that is present on the arc Contingency Plan (same rpm, but Veist), and that thing shreds. If Sword Logic gives multiple stacks on guardian kills, that might be the play (idk the damage buff%), especially with something like Rapid Hit or Keep Away.
