The gun has a good sound and feels nice to fire, but damn-it's fucking UGLY. All of the Crota's End guns stuggle to look presentable with shaders. Vault of Glass guns suffer from just being old gun models with a fun Vex-y bits added; but those old models are still good designs and the extra Vex features added well in small walls. But the Hive-bone plating on these? Horrible. It clashes with the retro-futuristic styling of the original gun far too much. A bit of D1 aesthetic that does not survive well into D2. This doesn't detract from the gunplay, but still something to bitch about.
I hope to get more rolls and test more traits, especially Sword Logic. Even better to get the full pattern. For now, the gun I got has and will be very fun to play around with on my Broodweaver.
Arrowhead/Ricochet/Keep Away/Precision Instrument, with Range MW. It had no business getting so many kills, but the combination makes it such an efficient lane clearer. I went Ballistics for a little nudge to the stats, but Counterbalance works; the 79 recoil direction with Arrowhead alone is manageable enough, though.
Aesthetic tip: the standard Hive green is pretty drab. Mercury Prophetic shader from Curse of Osiris makes Fang gorgeous!
I haven't tried my Rewind/Sword Logic roll, but I imagine Sword Logic is going to make the gun feel better. As a rapid-fire, you're going to take multiple shots to down targets as it is. I don't have any amazing insights here, other than "a damage perk would be nice". Good sound and feel to the weapon, very easy to control. Pulls to the left natively (and noticeably), but Counterbalance levels it out a bit, though it still pulls a tad to the right. Really would like to have Arrowhead on here to help out handling and recoil as well.
Feels fine in PVP. My roll has good consistency, but lacks damage perks. This is fine, since you're typically not relying that much on kill-based perks in trials/comp. For sixes, Tunnel Vision/Kill Clip is right there, and is a fantastic combo that is present on the arc Contingency Plan (same rpm, but Veist), and that thing shreds. If Sword Logic gives multiple stacks on guardian kills, that might be the play (idk the damage buff%), especially with something like Rapid Hit or Keep Away.
