TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks
It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.
Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.
TIP: Popularity Ranks
The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

Tried Palindrome, Igneous, Dire Promise, Bottom Dollar, Ace, etc — never liked the feel of it; each try never lasted for more than 1-2 matches.
But this — this is the first HC ever that I started using in PvP regularly and I love it.
Got a Corkscrew, Flared mag, Rapid Hit, and Timed Payload roll somewhere during my solo Legendary campaign playthrough, and I am so glad that I did not dismantle it.
The subdued firing sound, the minimal muzzle flash, the aesthetic clean sights, the feel of it.
Feels very sticky and seems to have extreme bullet magnetism and precision a la Chaperone.
This thing slaps hard.
It slaps so hard that I had to review this (and this is my first review on light gg ever).
It's time to retire my Stars in Shadow.
Hammer Forged or Smallbore.
Accurized.
Rapid Hit/Eye of the Storm/ Steady Hands
Moving Target/Timed Payload/Opening Shot/Rangefiner
This gun is stacked with great pvp rolls, and it just feels good to use. You can't craft one sadly, but just give this gun a go, It's amazing.
This hand cannon has range comparable to palindrome, with a weapon model that is very thin, giving the weapon a nice clean feel. It just feels satisfying to use. Opening Shot is a great alternative to Rangefinder for players who don't like the extra zoom, making this a good energy slot competitor to Palindrome.
I think the godroll would be: Fluted barrel (or maybe hammerforged for Ophidian users), Accurized Rounds, Eye of the Storm, and either Rangefinder or Opening Shot depending on the user's preference, with a Range Masterwork.
I view this weapon as the new Dire Promise, it's a world drop hand cannon that has the potential to be competitive with some of the best handcannons in the game, making it accessible to new light and returning players who don't have a godroll Palindrome, Fatebringer, or Eyasluna yet, and need a placeholder in the meantime.
PVE roll - Rapid Hit + Timed Payload
PVP - Basically many rolls as it has a lot of options. ( Steady hands/Eye of The Storm/Rapid Hit + Rangefinder/Opening Shot/Timed Payload/Moving Target)
As you see, basically almost most rolls work well for PVP depending on your preference.
This very well could be the best PVP hand cannon in the game as of its release with TWQ. Combinations like EOTS/Opening Shot and Rapid Hit/Rangefinder stand out, but that fourth column also includes Timed Payload, Vorpal, and Moving Target, so there's a roll for everyone with this gun. You're unlikely to get a "perfect" amazing roll of this gun immediately, but you'll almost certainly get at least something worth trying out within the first few drops. 82 aim assist becomes 100 with Moving Target plus a HC Targeting helmet mod (which is on the artifact for 1 energy in S16) or 97 with two HC Targeting mods.
Downsides? Kinda wish it was craftable, but if it was, I'm not sure we'd see much else in the Crucible as far as 140 energy HCs go. That 85 recoil direction might throw it off a little, which tempts me to recommend Arrowhead Brake on it, or you could try Counterbalance to bring it to 100 if you don't mind losing Icarus Grip (though at that point I'd just use an exotic HC). It doesn't roll High Cal, which is probably a good thing with Timed Payload on it instead (neither does Fatebringer, for what that's worth).
Overall, generally seems like a strong workhorse primary. Will likely take some getting used to with regards to recoil, but in all other respects this gun seems to compete with the other top tier 140s all at once: Timed Payload makes it a counterpart to Fatebringer, Rangefinder makes it a counterpart to Palindrome and Eyasluna.
As for the EOTS/Opening Shot roll, I wasn't around for when Austringer was a big deal, but people have a lot of nostalgia for that gun. This is probably your best chance so far to relive those days.
In PVE, held back for now in that it's not compatible with Volatile Rounds, which seems to be the add clear meta. Go with a void weapon in that slot instead. That said, Arc 3.0 is likely to change a lot of that when it happens.
The PvP god roll(s) are very high quality. Rapid Hit/Rangefinder or Eye of the Storm/Opening Shot are the gems, I think. May RNGesus bless us all.
My pve roll has arrowhead break, tactical mag, timed payload with rapid hit, range mw.
It's great, looks good and takes shaders well, too.
My pvp roll is almost identical, just rapid hit is replaced with eye of the storm. My pvp roll can also switch from arrowhead break to fullbore.
This handcannon is the crispiest thing I've ever used. It can drop from anywhere and has amazing perks like rapid hit, rangefinder, eye of the storm, and moving target. I used to hate handcannons and I used to be really garbage at PVP but after picking this baby up I started grinding out PVP just because it was so fun to use. My KD improved significantly and I unlocked my true potential.
My current roll is Corkscrew Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Rapid Hit, and Rangefinder and I have around 300 kills on it (I had a Rapid Hit - Moving Target roll that I dismantled after I got this one with around 500 kills on it) and I've never had so much fun in the Crucible before.
If you're not looking to grind out GMs for the Palindrome, the Cantata-57 can compete without having to sacrifice your time and soul.
Range finder feels awesome, opening shot also feels great.
imo its up there with pally.
Got Rangefinder, Rapid Hit, Accurized & Corkscrew with a Range Masterwork. This thing absolutely shreds anything it hits.
