Literally the best PVP SMG in the game currently. Got a max range Target Lock/Range Finder roll, and it absolutely destroys everything when paired with peacekeepers.

AS for PVE, Threat Detector + Hatchling/Target Lock makes this the best Strand PVE SMG in the game currently (The Neomuna one sucks), so I am unsure why people are rating it so low for PVE.

Absolutely phenomenal SMG for both PvE and PvP that I highly recommend grinding for, if you can't flawless however the regular one will do just fine but the adept version is a nice upgrade.

For PvE I recommend gunning for Keep Away/Threat Detector with Hatchling, Demo or Target Lock but even Kill Clip is good. You really can't go wrong with the rolls in PvE it's just that solid, Field Tested as well is amazing as just landing shots boosts all of your stats buy a massive chunk up to x5 stacks making the gun feel snappier and just overall better which I like in PvE also it never goes away unless you die/reload an area so have fun with that, Alacrity is great solo as well. Pair this gun with the S20 artifact mods focused around strand weapons and tangles, and then the strand subclass and you've got yourself a monster... easily one of the best SMG's in the game (may not feel as good after S20 though) and definitely is the best strand weapon as of right now for builds that are focused around them.

Now for PvP... holy Target Lock is broken, hitting 27-29 per headshot (in my experience) without radiant or surges is INSANE. The optimal TTK for this weapon is around 0.5 something, essentially just landing a couple shots boosts damage and matches the TTK of Kill Clip without needing a kill, idk who at Bungie approved this but ok lol. Obviously the top pick for the left column alongside Target Lock is going to be Rangefinder but if you don't get that because RNG then Encore, Threat Detector and DSR are all solid backup rolls.

Overall and easy 5/5 for both PvE and PvP, it's just a monster, IKELOS and Tarrabah have some competition finally.

no matter where i queue. I can't stop hearing it. it's omnipresent. it's everywhere. the sound... that gosh dang sound... I can't stop the ringing in my ear from it... it just won't go away... like a broken clock ticking so fast because you know the moment you hear that sound... you are already dead...

anyways

solid SMG, changed the PvP game like when Wall Street Crashes. Don't sleep on Target Lock, it's the best neutral-game perk for consistent damage + damage amp. Rangefinder was just a mistake to add on this gun, and makes it a freaking mower in crucible. I doubt they'll nerf it by the time its in rotation again, so when you get the chance to get this SMG, 100% try to get it. Non-Adept is just as mean as its Adept Brother!

I love this SMG! My first weekend ever going flawless, solo too. Feels good. Love that it's Strand. The roll I got is Keep Away, Target Lock/ Kiling Wind w Range masterwork. Actually felt good playing Trials

God tier in PVP and a main slot Strand primary for PVE if you get a roll with hatchling.

Listen to me closely. As long as your roll has target lock / kill clip and any half-decent third column perk, it literally doesn't matter what barrel and mag it gets as long as you get the range masterwork. You could run fluted and flared magwell with a range MW and still get 60 range, which is enough range to push you to 19.49 meters; not the craziest number ever, but absolutely insane for a gun with minimal investment into the range stat.

That, however, is the range when neither field tested nor alacrity are active. With alacrity on, you'd be hitting around 21.33 meters instead with even MORE juiced stats, and field-tested... well, we don't know a whole lot about it, but I'm certain it's helpful.

The bottom line is there really isn't such thing as a bad roll of this gun. Perhaps an INFERIOR roll when competing against itself in a vacuum, but it's just THAT juiced.

In ALL honesty, you REALLY don't need rangefinder on it if you run Target Lock. It's still fun to run with rangefinder but just getting Target Lock should be good enough for you with around 70+ range.

Phenomenal smg, my roll has full bore, ricochet rounds, rangefinder, target lock or tap the trigger, with an unfortunate handling masterwork. While full bore tanks the stability and handling, it’s totally worth it because the smg is so naturally stable that it doesn’t matter, even when dualling another smg, or hand cannon a shorter ranges. If my roll had a range mw, it would have about 26m of range. Which is phenomenal for SMGs right now. The craftable Ikelos smg can’t even reach 24m for comparison. I didn’t get a pve roll so I’ll be farming for that, so I’d look for ppm and hatchling personally, or threat detector depending on the activity.

Managed to snag a Rangefinder + Target Lock roll… wow. This thing is not going to last long before getting tweaked. Also got a second roll with Keep Away + Target Lock and while Keep Away is almost always active the stat boost feel pretty negligible and I much prefer the rangefinder roll. Overall pretty insane across the board for range, reliability, and TTK.

It’s not half bad for pve. Notable now because there’s a lack of good Strand weapon options and it can proc unraveling rounds well if that’s your kinda thing. Tried it with hatchling and wasn’t terribly impressed compared to other incredible damage spreading perks like headstone but it’s alright.

Pretty much Ikelos in the kinetic slot. My role isn’t even that good (encore and kill clip) and it’s still nutty. Im sitting at an 85 range (and get up to 90+ with encore). PvE wise, hatchling and threat detector puts in some work, especially with Strand Warlock.

Kill clip encore will be the way once target lock is looked at. And it will be looked at if immortal out preforms other 750s after the nerf. Let's be honest this gun is still gonna top the charts on usage even after range finder is gutted.

Been running Hammer forged, Flared, Perpetual Motion and Hatchling in PvE. Super good and feels amazing. Field Tested is easily becoming a favorite for origin traits. As for PvP, it must be good because I keep dying to it in IB.

Running a pretty basic alloy mag/threat detector/kill clip in PvE but it feels really good, especially when the origin trait ramps up a bit. This was actually worth suffering in trials for.

In the crucible you literally cant take a single duel within nearly 30 meter if someone has this gun kitted correctly, even low stability rolls beam at dmg drop off range, you can land the first shot and hit all crits and still barley trade out against it, this is easily the most meta defining weapon in years. Perk pool is juiced for when range finder/target lock ends up getting gutted.

In PvE I would take this any day over the Neomuna SMG, hatchling is a pretty satisfying perk when you can get multiple procs, only 4 stars because Ikelos with feeding/volt is still the undisputed legendary ad-clear king in my book.

Destiny 2 PvP is forever fucked as long as this gun remains how it is. Not got it? You're screwed. Have it? It isn't fun to use. Bungie have really out-done themselves this time
