This gun is a primary machine gun which shoots as long as you are alive and it doesn't like you being alive.

Touch of Malice my beloved, they took you from D1 and made you so much better and RNG blessed me with a week 1 drop!
This is a random drop from Oryx now rather than a quest, does basically the same thing from D1 but now it also has a new Taken Captain Blight attack, if you get 10 precision hits with the gun and get Charged with Blight x10 you can activate an alt fire mode which increases all Weapons of Sorrow damage by 50%, blinds and poisons targets for about 3 seconds, so this works for Thorn, Osteo Striga and Touch of Malice as of Season 18, and yes as this a Weapon of Sorrow the poison effect will work with Necrotic Grips and spread to any nearby enemies if it gets kills and you have the gauntlets equipped. The catalyst will then add Rapid Hit which will allow you to load/activate that alt fire mode faster to slightly increase DPS. The debuff though makes Touch the single greatest primary for DPS in the game yep even better than Outbreak too, you can melt bosses with it while in a Well, also at the time of this review the gun doubles it's damage again if you debuff a target with the Blight and pair Divinity with it, expect that to be fixed though as I'm almost certain that's a bug.

For PvP the gun melts pretty good for a 260, obviously because the final infinite bullet does double damage (EDIT NOT DOUBLE DAMAGE SORRY), just be careful of it killing you though, if you want to really slay with this in PvP run Loreley, Healing Nades, Devour etc or get the jump on the enemy first oh and be sure to run High Energy Fire or Radiant haha, then you'll really delete people.

Touch of malic has an insane damage potential for a primary in PvE as long as you pair it with a well of radiance or restoration. It is by far the best 260 rpm scout in PvE, with its only comp really being symmetry. While Symm pairs with arc and has well bonuses, its only upside compared to touch is add clear, which is done better by other guns anyway.

In PvP the gun is meh. If your perfect you lose 40 hp every fight(10 hp per shot) in exchange for a perma damage boost. The gun doesn't shine in streaks unless your running devour due to constantly being low hp. It doesn't shine in duels to any gun that isn't a 140 Hc or 150 scout because they are getting a faster TTK due to you just using touch. The blind doesn't do a whole lot, although I could see use in it for team pushes. But at that point Symmetry would do better(Symm and Touch are quite similar) or hawkmoon could just give you a kill. The gun shines if you like playing back of the map far ranged support. It has the highest dps so it makes team shooting strong, a common theme with this weapon is you need teamwork to make it work.

In gambit this gun is just insane in all areas. Nukes invaders, Nukes blockers, nukes the ads when compared with most primaries, nukes primevil for a primary(so much more then anything else). use it in gambit. Its fun

Incredible weapon inside of PvP with Well-lock running healing nades and healing rift. As listed below 50% damage buff to all weapons of sorrow in PvE. Touch is in my mind the best damage dealing kinetic in the game. I just can't state enough how phenomenal this weapon is in all phases of the game, in season 18.

As was in Destiny 1, Touch of Malice is a strong contender for powerful, long-ranged exotic weaponry. It's new function of being able to shoot Taken Captain Blights at targets further boosts its capabilities, and offers an alternative function if you don't like damaging yourself with the final round in the mag. These Blights will also increase the damage of other Weapons of Sorrow by 50%, including Touch, making it a good damage dealer on bosses as well. It's stat package is also the best out of all 260 RPM scout rifles, further improved again by getting Rapid Hit as it's catalyst.

Having played with the weapon for roughly three days now, I can comfortably say that Touch of Malice sits towards the top of PvE exotic primary weaponry. It shouldn't be ignored in PvP, either. The damage boost from the final round, paired with any other auxliary buff (like Radiance) allows it to get a ~0.5 second TTK, which needless to say is crazy. The self damage can even be offset with something like Healing Grenades or a Rift/Well if you're a Warlock. The Taken Blight will also one-shot high resilience Guardians if you're on the final round in the mag.

All in all, Touch of Malice is incredible, both in PvE and PvP. It boasts a beautiful stat package, amazing functionality as a ad-clear and big damage dealer, and can still hold its own in PvP. A 10/10 in my book, and a weapon that has made a permenant place in my inventory.

This weapon is so consistent! PvE, hands down just mows over the enemy population and giving those taken a taste of their own medicine with your very own blight! PvP this thing is still amazing! Just have to work a little harder to stay alive with the right build to consistently stay at that one round for bonus damage. I have never been more happy to have a raid exotic ever. I have always liked the 260 rpm scouts, even got a We ran out of medals one time with a contingency plan. So yeah this 260 is just what i needed in my life!

I got this one my seventh run, my first raid exotic. This gun is pretty damn good in PVE with boss damage being like 24,000 if you make a build around it. That being said PVP is fun to use this weapon, and i still do with warlock healing rift it can be fun, but besides that situation it can be hard for it to reach its full potential, but definitely can be argued its not the best in slot, especially with pulse rifle being as good as they are.

Honestly… it’s meh. Nostalgia out of the way the gun simply doesn’t compete like it used to. With firing line linears, wither/arbalest, and any other meta dps machine, you’ll find yourself scratching your head going “is a 100% damage buff that kills me really worth my exotic slot”? For me, the answer was no. Sure if you run 5 malice with 1 div you’ll shred any boss down to the bone, but let’s be realistic, not everyone is lucky and some people may not get it until even season 19. i’ve used it in all forms of content and honestly i’d rather stick to my arbalest/funnelweb/storm chaser than try to force a gun that i’m using purely because i loved it in D1.

Oh and don’t use it in crucible. You’re better off running skyburners. The only benefit to malice in pvp is the 30% damage bump but with the gun kicking like a bull good luck hitting your shots, not to mention that the other perk is essentially useless. Stick with your crispy pali or austringer and put malice away.

TLDR ToM is fun for the first day or so until you get tired of having to worry about killing yourself
EDIT: Im aware of all the potential damage malice can output, but why wouldn't you just use your linear that will outdamage it in most damage phases. Besides once it gets fixed with div it will be even less useful

Since it got the buff in season 22, this has been very fun to use in pve with void warlock using briarbinds. The final round no longer takes all your health, it just leaves you at 1 hp and they made the healing on kill much better. It’s been my favorite raid weapon to use as of recent besides Conditional Finality. Since they also gave it a damage buff with the final round, i’d say this contends as one of the highest dps primary ammo weapons, a great pick for day one raids or dungeons.

I used this thing alot in d1. I don't have it myself in d2 but I got to use it on a friend's account for a while.

Its basically just old touch of malice with the ability to fart on enemies. It's a good weapon. Highly suggest it for both pvp and pve if you're good at playing your life. Though it is still a scout rifle, and the limitations are thusly so.

got it 2nd run, only tried it in pve
you kinda have to have a specific build if you want the full power of this item (loreley's titan, wellock, shit like that)
it's still strong even without a specific build though
