Even before the s20 mid-season patch, Rufus's Fury is already a very nice option for PVE with the perk pool and the strand synergies. The Adept roll I ended up getting was Arrowhead Brake, High Cal, Rewind Round, Target Lock with a Stability MW. RR/TL together has a low score in light.gg which is surprising given the potential this combination has to get around 80-90 shots off without any setup. My experience with Reconstruction (the de facto chase perk 3 option) is that it's amazing on specials but meh for primaries that you have out often. Rewind rounds to go with your Target Lock is one to definitely try. For PVE, many of the perk combination are viable with demo, rewind, recon, target lock, frenzy, hatchling, and paracausal being the standout ones to look out for. PVP has solid options like perpetual motion or moving target to go with target lock or tap the trigger but ARs as a whole still have a way to go in PVP.

In terms of Adept vs Crafted, there are some solid benefits to chasing down an adept roll of your desired perk combination. Rufus's fury struggles a little in the range department and with the recoil pattern more stability is also at a premium. The stat increase at 10MW + either a range or stability mod help fix some of those issues. Other than that, there isn't too much difference between the two.

Overall, a very solid option with great perk pool and future changes that will enhance the lethality of the weapon.

(This review is considering the s20 mid-season patch and adept Root of Nightmares weapons being enhanceable.)

Very solid in PvE, my personal favourite perk combination is Rewind Rounds + Target Lock, I have this on my crafted roll and will be trying to get it on my adept roll although the benefit of an adept primary in PvE is very low as the optimal mod for a primary weapon in PvE is usually minor spec anyways. This will be my go-to PvE gun after the +25% damage buff autos are receiving in the s20 mid-season patch.

This weapon is super reliable in PvP, it is incredibly stable with virtually no reticle bounce, this means you do not need to consider recoil direction at all as the dot will hardly move already. This has very defined advantages over the crafted PvP roll, where the adept range mod can make or break in regards to winning some gunfights. Adept stability is an honorable mention for controller players.

got my roll with demo and paracausal (not the best barrel stuff for the first 2 slots or mw but once we can enhance adept weapons that'll change) and it slaps. it can definitely hold its own and it's always nice having that uptime for my grapples. definitely a solid roll for both pvp/pve

Got a Rewind Rounds | Target Lock roll on my first try and this thing feels great so far

Can't wait to enhance it after the mid-season patch

It is an unbelievable weapon, the enhancement made it even better

Idk why Light.gg tells me that I should've gone for Reconstruction instead of Rewind Rounds, but hell to that this thing FUCKS

Yeah I also don't understand the hype around Reconstruction + Target Lock over Rewind Rounds + Target Lock. Sure, with Reconstruction you can shoot a bit more and thus make more use of the Target Lock stacks, but that totally ignores the fact that you have to wait about half a minute to have your entire mag doubled in size. While for Rewind Rounds, well, you can shoot however you like.

Considering how Powerful crafted Rufus's is, this Adept version has the potential to exceed the Crafted, if you get lucky enough.

Im going to farm it, if you want spoils go to Vow each week alone and just head to the first secret chest. Easy free spoils per week.

I have Arrowhead, Ricochet, Thresh, and Target Lock. Thresh is surprisingly helpful in some situation (albeit not the strongest), but Target Lock is just unfair. 10/10 reccomend to anyone!

For some reason, this is cropping up as a "new" weapon under the Final Shape new weapons list. I'm pretty sure none of its perks have changed at all... maybe its just an Adept thing? A few others have cropped up. Either way - very good gun, easily one of the highlights of the Raids loot pool, either get a good rolled Adept for its mild benefits or gun for a Crafted version for the roll you want. Take a gander at the popularity perk picks above, then ignore them and pick whatever you like. If Reconstruction on an Auto Rifle personally offends you, you don't HAVE to use it. Do whatever!

That's true for now, but once we get the Mid-season patch adepts will most likely be considered better than crafted weapons.
