If you get a Tap The Trigger, Dynamic Sway Reduction, with small bore and ricochet? Hold onto it. Hold onto it like it was your firstborn. This rifle has the highest AA for 360s in the game right now apart from Age Old Bond which is a raid rifle, but with a high zoom scope that will let you reach out and get those sweet sweet crits. Age old bond has the same two perks, but in the same slot so you can't combo them. If you get these perks/barrel/magazine options with it, you will be the official owner of a mean beam machine. A devil of a 360 far beyond all available 360s if you just get THE roll.

That is the most consistent roll, but if you get Moving Target with perpetual motion, it can serve you just as well since moving target bumps up AA as well and PM can keep the stability in check if you wiggle while you shoot. Also has brilliant PVE perks if you wanted that as well. May The Drifter bless you with the dirtiest roll available to folk hunting for a decent low RPM auto to take to the hordes of handcannons in PVP. God speed.

i have one with dynamic, ricochet, and fluted but instead of TTT, Ive got demo, personally TTT isnt really needed because with those perks its already really stable with really good range and it could benefit from another perk like moving or demo as I have.

With the reworks to Hand Cannon/Pulse Rifle/Auto Rifle next season (22) this weapon becomes more viable than ever.

Dynamic Sway + Tap The Trigger coupled with Smallbore, Light Mag/Hi-Cal and Range MW for 100 Range. You will out-duel 120 and 140 Hand Cannons, mark my words.

As a fellow Herod-C enjoyer I think Arrowhead Brake does the job better than Smallbore, because it gets you to 100 Recoil and allows you to slot in Targeting Adjuster while still getting a Stability boost.

I've been really enjoying my roll (Ensemble + Vorpal) in gambit so far, good as a backup dps for the primeval and pretty damn accurate to mark invaders using the new trait.
The downside as with all gambit weapons is the rng required to get a good roll, I got lucky with this gambit-performing roll on my first try as a gambit main.
If you get a good roll, give it a shot, this gun fires pretty slow so its not for everyone, haven't tested in crucible or outside gambit yet.

(Also I love the look of this gun, thank you bungie for giving drifter the hakke weapon even though the hakke trait is better suited to vanguard ops)

"The downside as with all gambit weapons is the rng required to get a good roll" it will get a little bit better next season when we'll be able to focus gambit engrams for herod specifically, but you'll still have tobattle with the gigantic perk pool.

Got a SFA + Headstone roll on my second gambit game. If you are a stasis titan, I cannot recommend this weapon enough. Headstone crystal damage procs stats for all, its a stasis auto rifle, good damage, easy to get headshot kills with for headstone, and the best part of all - its a kinetic weapon affected by whisper of rending, and it can one shot crystals with the fragment.

Please use this if you like breaking crystals.

Great gun, dare I say one of my favorites. Flinches like a mother with Hi-Cal (not as much as Crimson, but nothing can match that.) Good high-band stats for this archetype, and incredible consistency perks (P. Motion, DSR, Ensemble, TTT) You’ll want to shoot for as much stability as you can on Console, it kicks a bit still.

This range + having access to Headstone and Breach Armaments just leads to a more consistent stasis experience. Even though Perses-D treads in the same territory, if I wasn't doing modes w/ champions, I'd still prefer to use this weapon, simply because the shatter rate is just some much higher.

With the new Gambit Perk rework, Herod-C went from being a good PvP Auto rifle that struggled in PvE to being a true jack of all trades. I originally only used this for Gambit, but now I run this weapon all the time.

Perpetual motion, Elemental Capacitor (void, stability), Chambered Compensator and ricochet rounds with a stability masterwork. Laser beam. I've missed you, auto rifles.

Friendship ended with Scatelocke and now Herod-C is my new friend.

Having high stability is needed to control the recoil (especially on console), you can get dynamic sway to offset some of it but she’ll still kick. Heating up is also a good option but you need a kill to reduce the recoil and in higher end content I feel that it’s a dead perk.

For dmg perks either frenzy, vorpal, or one for all will do some work in higher end content but in the day to day the ideal dmg perk I would go with multi-killclip. Sure headstone is there but I feel that perk is more suited to precision based weaponry.

This is more of a view from the PvE side of things so I can’t say much for PvP but I have enjoyed it very much in PvE to the point that using a different AR feels weird to me. A great weapon all around with the right perks

Seems mediocre at first but after a few drops I really started to enjoy this weapon, to a lesser extent in the crucible but still usable. Of course the weapon is still brand new (this being posted a day after witch queen launch) so it could have some untapped potential with interesting perk combinations, great base stats for a 360 and a really clean scope. All in all it was a really solid weapon and I highly recommend getting a few use as I had an insane amount of fun using(but not farming) this gun.

Fantastic for stasis builds that can maintain 100% uptime on Font of Might (Hoarfrost-Z Titans). Combine Font of Might with Multikill Clip for an add clear machine. Easy to handle on PC and hits hard! Flinches enemies pretty well. Niche but amazing.

(pve) My Herod-C has reload mastework, appended mag and the perk combination: one for all + stats for all. It seems that the perk 'stats for all' is very underrated, especially in combo with 'one for all'. One perk makes the weapon beat up enemies and the other makes the weapon precise and stable like a laser. This archetype benefits quite well from this perk combo in my opinion.
haven't tried pvp yet.

Not going to lie I was kind of sad it has no rampage since there hasn't been a High Impact auto with rampage since Season of undying/shadowkeep launch.
but surprisingly Sub/Frenzy is with a reload masterwork has actually been pretty good.
This could have been Pluperfect's successor if it got rampage.

I got stats for all and frenzy along with arrowhead brake and tactical mag. Easily one of my favorite guns for PvE. High impacts generally have terrible stability and reload, but after hitting three targets, your gun is basically a laser and reloads super fast on top of the frenzy buff. I can't imagine a better roll for PvE tbh. In PvP, it's a high impact. You're mileage depends almost entirely on how good of a player you are tbh

More often than not, I find Gambit weapons sluggish and unwieldy. This gun, however, is incredibly versatile and feels great to use. The scope is incredible. It might not do particularly well in PvP, but it won't stop me from trying.

I love this weapon for stasis builds that focus on using crystals. That's because there are currently only three weapons that can roll with headstone and the hakke origin trait. Of those three, this one is probably my favorite. It's got this nice balance between damage, range, and precision.

The Roll I'm using is Extended Barrel - Flared Magwell - Heating Up - Headstone with a Handling Masterwork and a counterbalance mod. The shooting experience on this roll is very precise, and it makes getting those precision final blows at distance very easy. It's not perfect, but RNG being what it is, I'm happy with it.... for now.

The Hakke Origin trait allows you to burst crystals from headstone very quickly, and that can help you in one of two ways. You can either stack it with Whisper of Rending to shatter Stasis Crystals with a single bullet, or you can forgo Whisper of Rending for another fragment that will help your build. No matter what, the cumbersome prospect of destroying crystals for the sake of damage or ability regen is entirely mitigated by this origin trait. It's good enough that I'm skeptical that we'll see many more guns with this headstone/hakke trait combo. Even if we do, it could be bad by comparison. As I said, this is a nice balance between damage, range, and precision. So I would definitely advocate picking up this roll, or a roll like it, as soon as you are able. Especially if you like Stasis. It's such an excellent quality-of-life change that it not only uplifts the gun (which is an archetype I'm not overly fond of usually) but makes stasis as a whole way more fun to play.

This is a great primary if you hate titans. Armor piercing + breach armaments will put down barricades like it's nobody's business, not to mention how often anti-barrier AR is in the artifact. With major perks, I'd go for Perpetual motion/ dynamic sway + tap the trigger / moving target.
If I were to run stasis, I'd take elemental capacitor instead.

Loved this gun since my first IMO “okay roll” with 4TC , MKC. But I just got what I consider the best roll until I can focus it. With Polygonal , HC , 4TC , and Elemental Capacitor, Range Masterwork. Slapped a counterbalance stock and that was all she wrote.
