TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks
It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.
Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.
TIP: Popularity Ranks
The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

Pvp is another story. I have a crafted roll with Arrowhead/Ricochet Rounds/PM/Killclip with the range stat bonus. I want to love this gun so much. It handles smoothly, it's stable, you can get the recoil direction to a perfect 100 with counterbalance mod. Everything about this gun is great. Except for the zoom. 13 zoom. I really want to love this gun. But damn is the zoom so bad. It's the only part of the gun that feels bad and it's so unfortunate that it's such a critical part of the gun. It doesn't matter how good the gun feels and how perfect the roll is if it just doesn't have the zoom to duel. Keep your eyes on this gun. If the zoom changes end up bringing this guns zoom up a bit to compete with Multimach and Shayura's, it's gonna be fantastic. even with just 15 zoom, 2 more than it currently has, this gun would be great. But unfortunately the current 13 zoom holds it back. Keep your eye on it though. This gun has a lot of potentional to be a beast in pvp.
So let's start with the roll I gravitated towards:
Chambered Compensator - Flared Magwell - Enhanced Encore - Enhanced Headstone - Ranged Masterwork
Why this roll?
There are currently only four weapons that can roll with both encore and headstone. Of those four weapons, only two are craftable. Forensic Nightmare is one of those weapons, and I think it makes the best use of that roll. Encore works really well with headstone on weapons that lack stability. That means on a weapon that's already kinda stable, like Forensic Nightmare, it turns the weapon into a laser and makes proccing headstone very easy. Encore used to be this esoteric perk that buffed range or stabilty depending on how you killed enemies. It was weird. It was bad. No one liked it. Now it's buffed, and it's arguably one of the best precision buffs in the game. For merely killing enemies with the weapon you get a buff to stability, range, and accuracy all at the same time. That buff stacks up to 4 times and lasts for 7 seconds. You get 2 stacks for precision kills and 1 stack for body shot kills. The buff refreshes upon each kill kind of like rampage. At 4 stacks you get 20 Range, 32 stability, and an improved accuracy cone. I personally think this is better than perpetual motion. You lose out on reload and handling, but I personally find the range more valuable. Plus you aren't penalized for standing still for a couple of seconds. The encore buff on the roll I suggested means you are consistently running around with an 80 range/92 stability SMG that's incredibly accurate and that has perfect recoil thanks to chambered compensator. The shooting experience is truly excellent. Forensic Nightmare also got a buff to its zoom that pushes out the range and improves accuracy further. Since it's an SMG, Forensic Nightmare has decent room-clearing potential, and that room-clearing potential is only enhanced by headstone. The way headstone synergizes with the Stasis subclass can increase damage, survivability, and grenade regeneration. On top of all of that, this weapon debuffs target's damage by 10% for 5s after a few hits.
It's a very good gun that excels in PVE provided you are on a Stasis subclass.
It's a shame since I really like the gun model, and it shades really well. There are way better options for PVE too.
This weapons on my Titan stasis with Cadmus helmet wreaks everything in GM nightfalls.
1.33-2% super energy per kill sounds kinda nice. if you pair this with a stasis build and dmg increase FOM + HEF this gun could be a decent primary smg that fills your super lightningfast. i will definately try it. if i add Energy Converter mod, i will have a super generator build
The gun should suck but DAMN, I can't stop using it.
Got it crafted with headstone, graverobber and it just works like a dream on any of my titan builds. Freeze an enemy, punch em and boom refills your mag, goated weapon.
This gun really does suck tho so maybe don't use it, I have no idea why mine is level 160
its just so clean that i want it on every smg
trait combo are alright, but zoom is really lacking, you arent going to get a lot of range from the gun.
My personal recommendation is Smallbore/Flared/Encore or Perpetual Motion/Headstone with a Range Masterwork. This gives you a base range of 20 1/2 meters, good stability, and decent reload speed. The reworked Encore lets you push that range close to 22 meters with a single precision kill, while Perpetual Motion helps with the reload speed and brings up the low handling. Lots of fun on a Stasis build to create crystals, but there continue to be better, more generic options for other characters.
PvE, it's fine. Accessible little craftable Headstone SMG.
This gun is worth your time now.
i am trying to get a prep motion / kill clip role for pvp (sadly i dont have the pattern) i think it might be decent, but funnelweb or multimach is most likely better in all aspects for pvp
