This weapon definitely struggles to compete. It does have some unique use cases, but they're incredibly niche. Let's be real- if you're using this thing, it's almost certainly for the aesthetics. Lead from Gold + Frenzy is a well-rounded pick, allowing for high uptime on your snipe and a damage boost that'll kick in right around the time you're getting annoyed by Vandals and Hobs and want to take them out.

The most interesting thing it gets, in my mind, is Envious Assassin + Cascade Point. Pair it with a good close-range crowd clear kinetic like Huckleberry, Osteo, or even Agers if you're a double special gamer, and you have a solid long-range weapon in your back pocket that'll always be loaded and can simply spam down whatever big enemy is annoying you at the moment. Of course, good luck hammering crits at such a high fire rate.

Envious is really the only thing that makes this stand out against other energy snipes. We already have options with lead from gold, field prep, etc; Envious is much rarer. Discord is also a new perk that might entice some people for similar reasons to the Envious + Cascade roll I mentioned- a theoretically infinite ammo snipe to bust out and pop annoying enemies at a distance is nice to have, and the faster ADS feels good. But special ammo isn't particularly difficult to come by if you're mainly using a closer range primary, and in content where the ammo conservation is actually helpful, you're probably going to need something in your energy slot to deal with champs (or you're just using Wish-Ender, and you probably don't need another long-range weapon anyways).

All in all, for PvE, I can't really justify giving it more than 3 stars. Even the most unique, 5/5 god roll you can get is still just gimmicky at best.

In PvP, it's really funny to rock Ophidians + Elemental Capacitor on Arc + Rangefinder. But "funny" is where the praise ends for it here. I genuinely don't think it's able to compete with its competition, what with craftable Beloved, Mercurial Overreach, and Thousand Yard Stare running around nowadays. The nail in the coffin is that you can get Occluded Finality which has higher damage, enough zoom by default that it might as well just have Rangefinder built in, and can roll Ele Cap + Snapshot. Gets two stars from me for PvP, simply because IB weapons are such a pain in the rear to farm and this is a world drop that you can get lucky with dropping any time. Kind of a Occluded Finality at home, if you're lucky enough to even get that perk combo to drop.

See no reason to use in PVE, but in pvp having rangefinder and the high stats that this thing just gets from elemental capacitor makes it a headshot monster. If you can get used to the high zoom, this gun will not lead you wrong.
Best for use on an arc/void subclass, for handling and stability respectively.

Generally a clumsy perk pool for a 72 RPM sniper, particularly the first column. But if you can get the thing to drop, there's a few interesting rolls to toy with.

PvE: Discord restores ammo on kills, so Discord + Cascade Point offers unique synergy. Incandescent and Frenzy are hard to go wrong with. There are snipers better suited to Focused Fury and Box Breathing, like Fugue-55.

PvP: Pretty much just Elemental Capacitor and Rangefinder for a sticky, long-range roll.

Two things this sniper does have going for it: its origin trait and aesthetic.

i really like it but there isnt alot of diverse perks or really a reason to use this since theres already better legendary pvp and pve snipers and some of them are even craftable

My favorite weapon model and it being a 72 rpm really excited me. But when I found the perk pool didn't include snapshot or moving target or opening shot i was pretty much devastated. I didn't give up and tried an elemental rangefinder roll and just found myself wishing I was using my mechabre. Sluggish and too zoomed in. In pve not much better. I found that a field prep frenzy is good for cheesing in certain long range encounters but other than that? Devastated. I wanted so bad to love it. I'm keeping my field prep frenzy roll and it will see occasional use but it could've been more

ngl people say that this sniper isnt all that but used it in warlord's ruin for final boss with envious Incan roll and it performed very well IMO. Its certainly a bit niche but with the sniper buff I think could be good in dps phases. I don't play pvp so idk about that side

I don´t see any future for this weapon. The only perk that may be ok is discord, and it would be for pvp

Completely useless in PVE - I mean, even a "god roll" in this case is just worse than a random roll you get on so many other snipes.
For PVP it might be usefull, but again, why bother using it when there are soooo much better options out there
