TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks
It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.
Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.
TIP: Popularity Ranks
The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

TIP: API Perk Swap
The Bungie API now allows us to swap weapon perks for you*. Click individual perks below to swap them in-game. Click "Equip Popular Perks" to pick the perks that result in the highest popularity rank (if you're not already using them).* You must be in orbit, a social space, or logged off.
PVE1: Assault + Discord + Chainreaction (kill with another gun, switch to this and kill everything with free ammo for 7 seconds)
PVE2: Eddy + Voltshot (fun arc synergy)
PVP: Assault + threat + Chainreaction (people go boom)
Also shouting out discord and chain reaction, but everyone else seems to have picked up on it too so wanted to shine a light on a lesser mentioned roll.
Other players could and would have seen in the API that it rolls with good voltshot combos, even for a shotty whose family of weapons have notoriously bad reloads. There's also a roll they should covet for non-arc subclasses: Discord + Chain Reaction. I scrapped my masterworked and otherwise good roll of Threat Detector + Chain Rxn when I got the Discord variant, a perk that is just better for ammo economy once you get it rolling, and for a shotgun it's preferable to use a primary to mow down an easy target to activate it first before rushing into the throng.
Now I have a bugged multi-perk Discord + GT/Surrounded (I have Dis+Surrounded on a few shotguns), and a SFA+Voltshot roll.
I don't recommend anything other Eddy Current for voltshot -- not even SFA or Threat Detector. TD is potentially easier to *activate* than Eddy's max potential (haha, potential; electricity joke), but more dangerous and falls off as soon as you're left with the last chunkiest survivor who's surrounded by a pile of dead friends. TD requires you to rushdown a mob. Don't do that even in Expert difficulty, especially solo. SFA is a great stats booster for weapons, improving the feel, but voltshot requires a FAST reload first to feel good. SFA feels like it was anachronistically made for the new S25 perk, Jolting Feedback.
The popularity scores here suggest past and present users feel the similarly to how I do, so this is all tips for the future users or newcomers (though fat chance of D2 getting fresh faces now that it's once again dwindling in community commitment).
Have not tried for pvp. There are much better shotguns for that anyway. This weapon is a world drop so it's easier to farm... but a smaller chance to target, let alone target specific rolls. Good luck.
