L U N G E .

Get this thing with Eager Edge. It launches you forward very quickly and can be used to skate even faster than with pre-nerf Worldline.

BTUH! This sword got a great upgrade to it's perks with Unrelenting Chain Reaction!
I know that Hero of Ages can get this combo (and it's better because it's a Vortex frame), but let's be honest here, You can craft this weapon into any variant you want, and they share almost all of the same perks.
If you can't run the dungeon (or don't have the dungeon), or just like this sword personally, the new variant is worth the grind!
Maybe you'll get lucky and snag one without the need for crafting!

Missing something? The only thing this sword is missing is less severe magnetism on its Eager Edge lunges. I've lost count of the number of times I've lunged off into the distance only to turn a right angle and slap some random schmuck off to the side...

Anyway, this Halo Energy Sword expy doesn't do things by halves, thats for sure. Eager Edge is far and away THE perk to pick in column 4. If you aren't picking Eager Edge, you probably want a sword that isn't Adaptive. In PvE, it allows for much faster movement, closing the gap on enemies, and a bunch of skating tech with Well of Radiance and Shatterdive (probably more besides but I don't remember those). In PvP, Eagers makes this the king of the Sword meta, allowing for rapid gap closing and circumventing the age old sword problem of 'oh no I have been shot before I could get in melee range'.

As for secondaray perks, Column 3 has the standard sword array, so take your pick: Duelists Trance gives you lunging heavies at a faster rate, which isn't that good for movement tech given swapping removes the buff; Tireless allows this to serve double duty as add clear and is also the perk of choice for PvP due to improved ammo economy; and Relentless is there if you want to lay into a chunky target. Unrelenting is ok and Thresh is meh.

Lastly, this versus The Other Half. For PvP, Half-Truths will barely edge out due to having access to Tireless Blade to pair with Eager Edge, giving it even better ammo economy, while in PvE it really comes down to personal preference. The Other Half is rarer, comes in Void flavour rather than Arc (which looks better IMO, but personal preference), and Eagers in column 3 lets it pair with damage perks, while Half-Truths is more common and can pair Eagers with a standard sword array perk like Tireless Blade. Really, the difference between them comes down to what you want to use the sword for ASIDE from Eager Edge shenanigans as well as personal aesthetic taste. You can't go wrong with either... you know, unless you don't pick Eager Edge like a dummy.

Amazing and fun mobility tool, otherwise a regular sword (albeit an incredibly cool half Energy Sword). Absolutely not bad.

this thing is freaking beautiful, makes me wished hunters got a eagers edge perk/aspect because dang it would make them the mobile class they are meant to be

this weapon goes absolutely beautifully well with arc and void hunters

Duelist's Trance + En Garde is an interesting roll to keep besides an Eager Edge one. Faster Charge Rate upon a kill so you can stow it sooner for another En Garde strike.

Eager Edge is amazing for zooming around in the Castellum. It can be a huge save for jump puzzles and enemy stomps/knockbacks.

eager edge is the obvious go to but enhanced unrelenting chain reaction is about to be disgusting in PVE

Eager edge is an amazing perk. This thing's gonna be an essential speedrunning tool and it's just fun as hell. In pvp the lunge range can make it pretty deadly, not bad at all for a sword

This sword can actually roll with thresh and assassins blade, a perk combo that the highest DPS sword in the game has (Bequest). It’s fast, cool looking, and vibrant. Eager edge can roll on this as well. After swapping to this sword with the perk, you gained an increased lunge. A totally amazing sword. Consider farming for it.

funny skrrt skrrt sword (blue version), works on all classes: eager edge swing either in the air or off of a ledge, switch weapon during the swing, lift/jump/glide

If you, like me and I'm sure at least 60% of all titan mains, have a crippling addiction to slamming people into walls while they're afk, this lets you do that on every class too

half the time I shatterskate I end up hitting a wall so fast that I instantly die. I used this to skip the sparrow part of dsc. Very fun sword, more fun than the rest of the game.

Literally just crafted this. Went for enhanced Chain Reaction... it does not give you improved ammo reserves like.it says.

The weapon ammo capacity says 61 but I can only pick up 57.

Another Bungie rip off. I've made a post on the forum but... yeah not like that will do any good.

Be warned at the minute enhanced Chain Reaction does nothing!

Perk has now changed for swords. Now gives improved guard endurance.

Have tested it and can not find a difference in gaurd endurance between normal and enhanced.

For PVP this is objectively better than the other half because it can roll with eager edge and tireless blade. for pve its still really good but the other half is a bit better because it can roll with eager edge + relentless but the other half is a MUCH rarer.

Since the nerf skating is not the same but kinda works
Yet is the best legendary sword for PvP, the surprise factor gives you said edge
It s still a weapon carried by a single perk

just in case. try to get an "en garde" roll. if weapon forging allows us to combine this sword with its other half, you gonna want en garde on this and eager edge on the other half
