Powered Melee Kills and Finishers trigger a Kinetic Explosion at the target's location. 1 second cooldown between activations.

Explosion Damage and radius based on Enemy Rank :
• Minors: 533 Damage, 10? meter Radius
• Elites: 665 Damage, ?m Radius
• Minibosses and higher: 797 Damage, 15?m Radius

Unknown for Players currently. Listed damage numbers are at the center of the explosion as the damage falls off toward the edge of the radius.

Finishers upgrade the explosion to the one triggered by a Powered Melee on a one rank higher target.

Explosions triggered by Powered Melee Kills (bugged with Finishers) can chain on Kills and will trigger weaker explosions that deal up to 268 [PVP: ?] damage in a 8? meter radius. Chain Explosions don't have a cooldown.

Clarity tooltip editor's note: We're replacing the previous Powered Melee term with Elemental Melee. The former is now exclusively used for perks that require the consumption of a Melee Ability Charge. This note is temporary and will be removed in the future.

Honestly, adding an elemental compositor kinda buff to this would make it better. Depending on your subclass the blast would suppress (void), freeze (stasis), burn (solar), or chain to other enemies(arc). If this were the case tho, maybe using up like half of your class ability or all of it to compensate

That sounds like a great idea

i would make a few tweaks, now that we are fully in 3.0 subclasses. supress on void, slow on stasis, scorch on solar and blind on arc.

This exotic has limited function. The usability depends strictly being surrounded by enemies to use to AOE affect in PVE. It can be useful if you are armor mods tailored around finishing moves, but that is the only saving grace. PVP is also limited because it doesn't have a noticeable compliment to the titan punch. There are better exotics if you want something that compliments a titan punch (i.e. insurmountable skullfort).

As of Season of the Lost this has been updated to center the explosion on the target of the melee attack rather than on the player, which makes it very useful with Code of the Devastator's throwing hammer. It turns the throwing hammer into a great trash clearing tool. No experience with it in pvp.

Much much better in PvE after the buff, still situational in PvP though

As of season 23, the explosion is larger, deals more damage, and can chain multiple explosions if enemies are killed by it. It also has a weird side effect where enemies get popped up really high into the sky which is pretty humorous. Feel free to throw a hammer across the map in gambit and create a nuclear bomb if you manage to kill a minor with it. Shoulder charge works good too since it deals more damage and thus can kill more enemies, however bungie has clearly shown that they hate shoulder charge and anyone who uses it... I think hammer is the way. Grapple fist might be okay too, but shield toss deals too little damage and ballistic slam is entirely pointless as it knocks everyone away. This went from an exotic that was so aggressively outclassed that I didn't even know it existed, to one that I use frequently enough because it's fun and pretty good at clearing gambit waves.

Strand and Grapple make this a very fun clearing build that holds up in higher difficulties when paired with Warbanner for the healing buff and Woven Mail for more tankiness.

this thing is so awful. the "explosion" is very small does pitiful damage. and the setup is ridiculous, you need to finisher in a group of ads for it to do literally anything. worst Titan exotic by far.

They are almost entirely useless. Minimal damage and situational at best. Dont use these unless you just like fashion

the best titan pve exotic. if you run code of the commander with this and spam finishers you are a walking nuke. in pvp its hard to get off but it does get a kill sometimes. the explosion goes through cover as well.

Not super useful in PVP, better exotics to use. But actually pretty powerful when paired with middle tree solar. Just pick the hammer back up and you have you powered melee back and your health begins to regenerate on top of that over and over. Seems to be a limit on how often it can be activated in a row to trigger the explosion, but its not a big lapse in time. This piece has saved me quite a few times with a finisher in a crowded space as well.

The Solar 3.0 rework really brings this exotic out of the dark. Since the explosion is centered on the enemy that's killed and scales with enemy type (i.e. bigger boom for tougher enemy), your throwing hammer becomes a mini-nuke if used on trash adds, even more so if you finish off a weakened yellow bar with a melee. In case you lose your hammer, the explosion still procs with regular melee thanks to Roaring Flames. Add well mods like Bountiful Wells and Well of Life and you can stand in the middle of a swarm of adds without losing much health, spamming grenades, barricades, and nuclear melees without stopping for breath. It's time people stopped sleeping on the potential of this exotic. Oh and it looks pretty good too.

Good looking exotic armor, adds more fun to hammer build. But needs some kind of buff.

The explosion dosent do much damage. It’s more like a knock back wave. Still gives breathing room so I will still be using it. Plus it looks cool.

As with solar 3.0, bungie killed this exotic. Not intentionally, no. It straight up doesn’t do anything other than on baby hammer. Consecration and hammer strike already explodes your target, but better with more damage and cooler visuals. The exotic itself still looks kinda neat, but that’s about it.

I don't understand who said this was a good enough exotic? I read the warlock one that places empowering AND healing rifts at enemies you kill. Hello?
