with bait and switch buff from 20% -> 35% (4.0.1) make it become the best dame peck for linear since vp get nerf
witherhoard + auto loading grenade launcher + cataclysmic (4th time's + bait and switch) will be god combo boss dps

hes saying that bait and switch being this good makes it the best perk for linear fusions since vorpal got the big nerf a little while ago; witherhoard + auto loading GL + cataclysmic with bait and switch will be super good boss dps

Just as an FYI. A lot of people here put Fourth Times and Clown Cartridge as a pairing. Fourth Times doesn’t return ammo when the mag is overflowed, this leads to less return on investment.

Go FTTC + Focused Fury/Bait and Switch for raids and DPS
FTTC + Bait and Switch/Box Breathing for GMs
Successful Warmup is hilarious once it gets going. 267 ms (0.267 second) charge time is meme-worthy for Gambit invasions or PvP if that’s your thing.

All in all, well worth the pickup. Don’t sleep on Bait and Switch on this gun specifically now that they’ve buffed it on April 19, 2022

This will be getting an adept version but either way it comes with the very desirable trait of fourth time's the charm, and focused fury and high impact reserves are both more than usable with that. For example: with 6 magazine size (possible with either accelerated coils + backup mag or enhanced battery + boss spec) you will proc focused fury after 3 shots, then be able to activate fourth time's the charm twice for 10 total shots (which also helps with its origin trait!). HOWEVER: a tradeoff with this and legendary linear fusions with perks like 4ttc and triple tap in general is that very often you'll run into anything other than a boss dying before you even get to activate it, but anywhere you can actually hit that many shots they're very ammo efficient with good dps. In pvp it does have traits reminiscent of Komodo-4FR but linear fusions aren't the most popular thing in there, great if you like those however. In terms of its class though? Adept Cataclysmic is probably going to be a mainstay for raids and maybe nightfalls.
tl;dr god tier in pve with 4ttc + focused/HIR and 6 mag, great for gambit, only for linear fusion enthusiasts in pvp

This is the only Heavy Solar Linear Fusion Rifle currently obtainable, so in addition to my FTTC + B&S roll which is only really viable during boss dps, I wanted to craft a roll which is usable in neutral gameplay.

Where many here are wrong is the following:
It is true that Enhanced High Impact Reserves does absolutely nothing when used with Enhanced Battery for 6 in the magazine since they both trigger at 4/6
HOWEVER when paired with Liquid Coils, not only does every shot maximize the damage output, Enhanced High Impact Reserves triggers at 4/5 in the magazine, rather than 3/5 with regular HIR.

TL;DR
Best neutral gameplay roll is Liquid Coils, Enhanced Surplus, Enhanced High Impact Reserves.

I got it dropped in first encounter on day one. getting it to drop fourth times the charm and focused fury, then used it for boss since I don't have a good reeds, 10/10 would melt Caretaker again

This thing is a DPS monster. Don't sleep on bait and switch on this when paired with Witherhorde. Witherhorde + some secondary shot + Plus switching to this can give you a crazy amount of damage output.

If there’s gonna be any weapon I remember Year 5 of Destiny 2 PvE by, it’ll be this one. Astounding LFR, it’s craftable, and is a reliable source of some of the highest DPS in the game. Even though LFRs are getting a nerf in Lightfall, the sheer power of Cataclysmic will still make this a strong contender for boss DPS.
Even in PvP, heavy LFRs are a sleeper heavy. 5 bolts off the wall is nothing to scoff at. But really, you’re going for this for big beefy boss damage.

Corckscrew, Accelerated Coils, FTTC, Focused Fury, Charge Time MW. Instantly locked this thing the second I got it, and it’s easily one of the new best in slot. It’s better than Reed's as it stands, and when the adept version gets here?..Yeah. 500ms charge time is insanely fast, and if you have backup mag on, that’s ten. consecutive. shots. SEVEN of which have a 20% damage buff! That’s as much of an increase as firing line; twice as much as vorpal…yeah, watch out Reed’s. It's a literal 6/5 roll, too, with its insane (although admittedly not hugely applicable) origin trait…who needs it, though? Not you, not when anything short of a raid boss is going to die before you have a chance to reload…

Best thing about Cataclysmic is the fact that you can craft it and reliably get a 4th Time/Focused Fury roll. But I do believe that Cataclysmic is behind contemporaries like Reed's Regret (TT/FL) or Threaded Needle (Auto/Vorpal) so don't stress about this gun if you have good rolls on either of those.

My current roll is Arrowhead/Ionized/Forth Times/Focused. Seeing that this is *slightly* off of the god roll (I'd like Liquid or Accelerated over Ionized) AND it still dicks down bosses like it's nothing, this LFR is one of the best in the game if not the best.

FTTC and High Impact Reserves is a classic, Focused Fury works wonders despite the first three shots not having a buff, and Bait and Switch is surprisingly good when quickswapping or comboing with Witherhoard. Overall an amazing PvE linear.

pls tell me im not the only one seeing double DPS perk combos here? like you need 1 ad kill sure but having successful warmup combined with FF preferably can be very fun to just spam into a boss, maybe clown could even be better for burst

This just may be the premiere Linear for PVE Boss DPS. I have FTTC and HI Reserves, and with this gun alone I can out DPS most people with Izi's and autoloading rocket. This gun is absolutely insane, and I feel bad that I am now retiring threaded needle! This is incredible for boss DPS, and I recommend having a clip of 8 if possibl,e, and if failing this, 6 is fine. With 6 you get 10 shots for insane damage. My new favourite heavy weapon

For PvE in the first column FTTC stands out with barely any competition, second column has several options: Focused Fury, High-Impact Reserves, Bait and Switch and Clown Cartridge each give great boss damage potential comparable to Reed's Regret, also perfectly viable against champions. Adaptive Munitions might be useful for some solo content, but more likely you'll just end up using Arbalest. Bonus points for being the only currently obtainable Solar LFR, which could come in handy in some GMs, especially when Solar 3.0 comes out.
For PvP it's a decent pick among LFRs, but overall they are not in a great spot there compared to RLs and other stuff, so use it only if you like them.

if you get or craft one of these with ionized battery, fourth times, and clown cartridge on it then you should have 10 shots in a mag after reloading once from clown cartridge. you'll get 18 shots off before having to reload again. second reload will have 9 in the mag since your reserves should contain 9 after firing a shot prior to the first reload UNLESS you picked up a heavy brick right after the first reload. in this case it will have 10 again. if the second reload only has 9 in the mag then you'll get 15 shots instead of 18. so with this combination of perks you are getting a total of either 33 linear shots if you didn't have 10 in the second mag or 36 shots if you did. either 13 or 16 extra shots of a linear for FREE from fourth times. to top it all off you only have to reload one time during the entirety of firing that many shots and if you're in a luna well or rift it''ll be a miniscule gap between firing the first mag and the second mag. either way 33 or 36 shots total damage output is still higher than the total damage output of 13 shots from sleeper stimulant and much higher total than a different legendary linear with triple tap or clown cartridge and a damage increasing perk like vorpal, firing line, or focused fury

fttc can't overflow the mag like clown cartridge, so it won't proc above the base mag size of 5 or 6. fttc / focused fury is a better option for most situations

it appears that I will no longer be target farming this roll then. unfortunate that they would allow the perk combination with clown in column 4 rather than swapping it with dragonfly in column 3. since that means clown has near zero benefit with it's column placement when you compare it to the damage bonus perks. a shame because i always enjoy seeing weapons that benefit more for having unique perk combinations rather than the typical damage boost in column 4
