INCANDESCENT

Basic / Trait

Defeating a target spreads scorch to those nearby.
More powerful combatants and opposing Guardians cause scorch in a larger radius.

Community Research

Credits
Weapon Kills trigger a Solar explosion that applies 30 Scorch Stacks (40 with Ember of Ashes) and deals up to 30 damage to enemies within 4 meters of the target.

Killing Elite or higher tier Combatants and Players increases the radius to 8 meters and applies 10 more Scorch Stacks.

Scorch damage can be increased through Weapon Damage Buffs .

Best new perk of the season imo. Free scorch and explosions just for kills. And people were uspet when bungie said they wanted less boring perks like rampage and kill clip on guns. im so happy rn.

Perfect synergy with solar 3.0 builds. Doesn’t need a headshot. Better dragonfly.

In PvE it's perfect for add clearing guns like Calus Mini Tool, and synergizes well with Solar 3.0, but doesn't need Solar equipped to be good. Like someone else already said, it's a better dragonfly since it doesn't require precision kills, and is my new favorite perk this season.

As everyone else has said this is the new best perk for solar 3.0 builds, my only complaint is that it isn't on that many weapons but it is new and i bet they will add it to more. keep in mind i am a pve main so I'm not sure how good it is in crucible.

This really should be the catalyst for skyburner’s oath. If you like explosions, look out for this.

Pretty dominating on the Calus mini-tool with the warlock's Dawn Chorus and the seasonal mod Solar Fulmination. Scorching has never felt better. Also feels decent on the Drang, but mini-tool's higher RoF means more stacks which do most of the heavy lifting than the base weapon damage itself.

RoF means nothing the target needs killed for it to proc ? I preferred drang for the range and damage plus sidearms was an anti barrier last season (also in season of plunder it’s glitched incandescent will proc on shield stuns but shhhh)

Edit: there are a few exotics that apply scorch per shot like the prismatic lense the sky burners oath and jotun but incandescent ply apply stacks after a target has been killed, then it explodes and anyone effected is scorched hope this helps you keep solar alive in this new season I’m loving the bird to lorely I can use Phoenix cradle and burning steps without getting grief.

Cool perk for Solar builds, and call pull weight even without leaning into the solar subclass. The current pool of weapons that roll with it are a bit underwhelming, beyond CM-T and Staccato. Glad to see that we're seeing more element build synergies in more perks though- Headstone for Stasis, Repulsor Brace for Void, and now Incandescent for Solar. Curious to see what perks Arc 3.0 gives us!
EDIT: The incandescent pool has grown significantly, with BXR being my personal favorite. It's an incredibly consistent perk, and I think its overshadowed dragonfly (strictly on solar weapons).
