Hawkmoon

Stalk thy prey and let loose thy talons upon the Darkness.

What is this feeling?

I did not ask for it. I do not understand it. I do not want it.

The Crow is so carefree in his ignorance. The bonfire's glow lights up his pale features and I am drawn to the hope in his gold eyes. Where is the despairing child I anticipated?

He drinks from an open bottle of wine against the recommendation of his Ghost. The Guardian encourages him and they are laughing. This celebration is maddening; neither have reason to be so jubilant. Their world is ending and they thrash like dying creatures in the final light of collapsing stars. They do not seem to acknowledge the futility of their existence, the impermanence of it in the face of cosmic annihilation.

Now the Guardian is drinking, standing close to the fire. Their Ghost, too, encourages them not to partake. They poison themselves for the enjoyment of it.

I am reminded of my sisters. Of moments spent by lapping shores, gazing up at infinite stars full of possibilities and wonder. I am left yearning.

What is this feeling?

I do not understand it. I do not want it.

They are celebrating their victory over the Taken. The Crow is making a gun shape with his hand, swinging the nearly empty bottle of wine around in the other like a Sword. The Guardian looks pensive, sitting on a rock by the fire, contemplating the secret they are keeping. The Crow notices, but tries not to show it. He wants the Guardian's spirits to be lifted. He wants to be supportive, so that they may share in their triumphs together.

As equals.

I am reminded of my home. I am reminded of the warmth of the sun and the embrace of my family. I am reminded of my father's face. I am reminded of everyone I betrayed. All the blood spilled in the name of immortality. The warmth of the sun burns me with its memory.

What is this feeling?

I do not want it.

The fire has nearly died. The Crow fell over and cannot stand, though he insists he is fine. The Guardian is turning the embers with the tip of their Sword. The Ghosts are talking to one another in quiet conspiracy. The celebration has ended, but I can sense their emotions are mixed: complex and myriad things, when a simple, singular focus would suffice.

There is a growing kinship here. Against better judgment.

What is this feeling?

Good if you can land consistent headshots, bad if your aim is like mine... :(

I think they are reviewing the gun based on how good it can be when at its best which is accurate. I think they are also judging from their own experience.

Does 426 dmg to the head with max buff. Its nasty. Even without the buff its one of the best HCs. Its so smooth and snappy.

Hawkmoon was the very first exotic I got in Destiny 1, and also my favorite, as such I was incredibly worried about Hawkmoon in D2. I can safely assure you, give yourself time with this weapon and you'll fall in love with it. Incredible stats, random rolled perks, great PVE dps and incredible PVP performance. This gun is a monster, and it will only get better.

Very smooth to use in pvp, and super fun in pve. It's surprising to me that people dont like the random rolls idea with the Transformative perk because its a weapon you can focus more toward one or the other (pve or pvp). The base stats as is when you first get it, along with the intrinsic perk, just by themselves, gives it an easy 4/5 score for both pve and pvp. It's not one to sleep on. also an easy 4/5 in Gambit too

Not sure why so many people are hating on this hand cannon. It's got amazing stats and an excellent damage perk for both PVE and PVP. It's probably one of the most skill-oriented weapons to use given the nature of its exotic perk.

Hammer forged rifling, rangefinder, and polymer grip will most likely be the god roll. Near max range and good handling + stability.

Really rewards aiming precisely. With the catalyst giving extra Range, Handling and Reload Speed this thing is a monster in Crucible.
It's not always about the One-Tap. If you get it to 3x with two bullets left you can get a Two-Tap which is amazing.
Really fun in Rumble or Trials if you can land your shots.

I really like Eye of the Storm on it but Opening Shot or Rangefinder are great as well. I would go for heavy Grip and Extended Barrel for the extra Range and Stability and the 100 perfect recoil. Since you get a lot of handling from the catalyst it is not as important to spec into it.

Not bad for PvE, especially with the buff to exotic primaries.

Y'all used this weapon in one pvp game and gave it a 3. I've been using it non stop since it came out and it's amazing. Don't go for 1 shots. Go for 2 shots. This is the most consistent hand cannon in the game. Definitely better then you guys are giving it credit for. It's easy to hit headshots and very rewarding when you do. CammyCakes made a really good video about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hY1h2UOSPY .

Oh man, man oh man.... I was lucky enough to score myself a Hawkmoon with Corkscrew + Rangefinder + Textured grip and does absolute wonders in the Crucible. Combine that with the Masterwork that adds Range to every Paracausal shot you have, and now you have a gun that can very much crossmap without much difficulty. 11/10, will probably use it every other round outside of AoS

Very interesting. The random perks are definitely mostly suited for PvP, but the exotic perk does suffice for PvE needs, and feels just right.

Goes hard in pvp. Decent in pve if you can get head (headshots)

You ever wanted to do like, Heavy Sniper Rifle damage with a single Hand Cannon shot? Well, here you go.
Seriously, this thing is so insane I'm surprised it made it in the game the way it has. The power of a fully-charged Paracasual Shot has the destructive power of a goddamn orbital laser strike condensed onto a single target, and even beyond that, this is just an extremely well-handling revolver. Oh, and get Combat Grip if you can. It helps.

We need stats for pve not just pvp. Seems like the popular rolls are more toward pvp. I think Surplus is a great pve perk imo.

Hawkmoon is consistent as hell and landing that one tap Paracausal is the same feeling as sniping a Banshee with your Scorpion in Halo 3. If you don't know how that feels, I am legitimately sad for you.

There is no other joy in D2 quite like having a full stack of Paracasual and casually one-tapping an enemy guardian

This is my favorite gun in the game. Ace of spades is a stronger weapon overall but the skill needed to activate hawkmoon’s ultimate perk and the amazing plays you can have with that final shot encapsulates why I play destiny.

This gun legit has opening shot but for every single shot. In PVP it just feeds you headshots and feels phenomenal. In PVE it could be better but it still is really satisfying hitting upwards of 80,000 damage with a hand cannon. The best FEELING hand cannon in the game currently.

When you first get it it’s already a good hand cannon and the paracausal shot is very fun to use in pvp and pve. With the masterwork and a good roll it absolutely destroys in pvp and is a bit better in pve.
