"I'm with you, old man. Whether you like it or not."

Targe looked up at the sky above, a swirl of stars encircling the Traveler. They seemed so remote and untouchable, despite the pine trees stretching up in jagged spikes towards them. They, at least, were touchable. He let out a sigh. He had taken to doing so not because he breathed, but because his Guardian used it as a blanket emotional response. Sometimes the tics of loved ones stick like pine sap. It drips off the tree and onto an unsuspecting shell… dust settles in, and nothing can quite clean it off again. Always sticky.

He heard the muffled voices from inside the cabin.

Targe's thoughts wandered back to the gun. The moment stretched on for an eternity. He would have sacrificed everything to give Zavala what he asked for. He would have taken a thousand bullets; he would have gladly met his end if it meant the boy could live again.

"Why not?" he asked, looking up at the Traveler. "You make the rules. I'm here for him. I'd do anything for him. Why am I powerless?"

There was, as always, no answer.

***

Many, many lifetimes later, Targe looked up at the sky above, at a swirl of stars that were not stars, clouds that were not clouds. Something was missing. He almost chuckled at the thought of the Traveler having a smaller Traveler hanging somewhere up there in its made-up atmosphere. It seemed like an oversight.

He heard the campfire crackle as somber yet hopeful voices behind him shared their triumphs and pains. If anything inside the Traveler was real, it was in those voices, the bonds of tender love, infinite longing, and fierce loyalty radiating more intense warmth than the campfire itself.

He sighed. Even here, the trees dripped sap.

This thing is amazing. I went with Reconstruction and Bait and Switch, but I could see going with Target Lock or Desperate Measures in column 4 if you think B&S is too finnicky to proc. Envious Assassin could work in column 3, I suppose, but I don't see why you'd go with anything but Reconstruction. Arrowhead Brake and Ricochet Rounds get me to 100 Recoil with 62 Stability, meaning even though this is our first ever Aggressive Frame machine gun (High damage, high recoil), I have no issues aiming during sustained fire. This, in my eyes, is your go-to for Strand build boss damage. Easily beats Marcato-45 and Circular Logic just by virtue of being easily acquired and craftable.

Honestly, you don't even need a mag or barrel for accuracy, this thing is a laser regardless

Certainly a gun worth chasing. This gun being the only 600 RPM LMG in the game, and the only crafted Strand damage LMG makes it worth your while. While I can't speak on how the 600RPM archetype stacks up to the crowd control of 450RPM LMGs or the champion bursting capabilities of 900RPM LMGs, it feels like the best of both worlds. The perks are great, the origin trait is solid, overall it's a very good all around weapon.

Personally running Hatchling/Frenzy on this. I wouldn't use machine guns for boss damage and for add clear heavy encounters this does solid work. Frenzy caps out the reload on top of the damage boost further improved by the hatchlings (even better if you build into them and use the artifact perk that boosts tangle explosions). If the Hatchlings aren't doing it for you then it's an easy swap to Reconstruction/Your damage perk of choice.

this gun is a monster does amazing ad clear cleans out rooms with ease has amazing ammo economy run reconstruction with frenzy, b&s, desperate, target the gun feels great to shoot and does really well in endgame activities beats all past strand machine guns and is really good for the first of its kind

PS. run it with no hesitation and the call you have supers for days bc of the origin trait so many supers

As far as I know, the pale heart exotics (Still Hunt, Khvostov, and Microcosm) all count towards the super gain from Dealer's Choice as well, I heard Ace of Spades does too, but not certain on that.

I got a Reconstruction + Frenzy to drop. Personally I don't really like BnS on an ad slayer because the moment I whip out the MG I just want to quickly clear out the dozen ads on my screen.
So proccing B&S is not my preference. But if you use the MG on harder targets then I guess that is fine.

Now for pure ad clear I still think Reconstruction + Dragonfly is still the best option but Frenzy does grow a little on me because of the sweet handling boost.
15% damage isn't a huge boost but it is still there if you need to hose down a few orange bars along the way too.

So much stuff to go about here that I don't even know where to start. DPS is pretty great, still need to test it out on raid bosses but imo go either with Envious Assasin + Target Lock just to dump your whole mag on (it can go up to 270 bullets in mag so if you did not miss any shots you should get preeetty good damage) or Reconstruction + B&S, so you can swap, let your weapon reload and start hitting with that 30% bonus damage again and with enhanced B&S and huge mag like this weapon has you'll be able to utilize it to it's full potential.
If you are, however, not fan of LMG dps, which is completely understandable this weapon offers so much adclear possibilities. You can go safe route, picking Reconstruction with Frenzy or Desperate Measures and end up with something similar to strand Commemoration, swap 4th column with Dragonfly so you'd delete red bars wherever you look OR go full Strand chaos mode and pair Dragonfly with Hatchling in 3rd column for full strand synergy (manual reload can be pain there, but hey, if you are using this you are probably on Strand and you have thread of ascent availible).
Great addition to LMGs, everyone will find something for themselves here.
Edit: done some math, DPS seem to be better than adaptive frames, my math told me that with Target Lock it can be better on average even up to 18k per second (66k od aggressive, 48k on adaptive) BUT rapid frames, especially Retrofit is still DPS king so this route my not be best way to go with this archetype. I'd lean into adclear role for that one.

Users can still use Target Lock for add-clearing purposes on harder modes. The ramp up to optimal damage would happen more readily -- the targets have more defense in more or less words -- and there would be better targets in which target lock would be useful (i.e. more "yellow/orange" bars).

absolutely fantastic machine gun. from my limited testing it seems to have 15% more dps than an identical adaptive machine gun, which was always my go to archetype. I've been rocking reconstruction + frenzy, so I get to never reload, free 15% more damage, and have max reload speed. this plus the lost signal grenade launcher has done pretty fantastic damage to bigger enemies, and when I just need to clear a room, those two weapons also pair really well.

I personally would not use this weapon for DPS this is more of an ad clear machine gun. Hatchling+Dragonfly is a combo unique to this weapon which has a fun synergy.

idk about that: LMGs are useful *add-clear* at Master and above. If truly hard-pressed, whittle down the mobs a bit and then clean up with the other weapons & abilities, and rely on attrition strategies for clearing ultras and bosses (to conserve on ammo).
