Ah, its good to see you, old friend. Adhortative was my favourite of the Undying guns, and never left my inventory until Sunsetting. Now its back and a million times better. You want an alternative to the BXR-55 Battler? You got one.

Lets go perk by perk. Heal Clip is the big standout, allowing you to self sustain off of kills and heal your allies while you're at it. Its even a decent pick in PvP, allowing you to immediately heal after a gunfight. Attrition Orbs is a new perk, an interesting one that generates orbs off continuous damage - very useful in the wake of the ability nerfs, but only testing can tell if its worth the hassle. Feeding Frenzy is the classic perk, almost capping your reload speed after two kills. Loose Change is - shockingly - actually viable here, because Incandescent is in the other column, making it very easy to proc that +50 reload. However, it only has 1-1.5s of duration over Feeding Frenzy, and that works regardless of Column 4 perk and only needs a second kill to match or surpass it. Shoot to Loot is a niche choice, but a decent one, allowing for a more campy combat style of grabbing stuff from a distance. Air Assault is a PvP perk, through and through - if you like shooting from the sky, use it. Slickdraw is probably a miss - the auto-aim loss is probably more of a detriment than a help in PvP.

Now, onto Column 4. Incandescent is the obvious winner - hyper-synergistic with Solar builds, arguably a better Dragonfly, it's just great. Headseeker is THE PvP pulse perk right now, allowing your bodyshots to enhance your headshots and likely shorten your TTK (the aim assist is also real nice). Golden Tricorn is an insane damage buff that is limited by your ability to spam abilities - indirectly nerfed by the recent changes, but every class has an ability-spam build (Bonk Hammer, Sunbracers, Calibans) so you can make it work. Deconstruct is a new perk thats a little odd. Not sure how viable it actually is, but its here if you particularly despise vehicles and constructs. Disruption Break pairs excellently with a strong Kinetic special like Izanagis, especially since it works on Barrier champions (and this season has an artifact perk that lets solar weapons proc Radiant off precision hits). Moving Target is another solid PvP perk for neutral game, and Harmony is a bit more niche but can work in some special oriented PvP builds.

Overall, this gun is incredibly good for a reprised gun, I am so happy its back. Take Incandescent plus a perk of your choice for PvE most likely, and use Heal Clip + Headseeker for PvP. Glory to the Sol Divisive.

This looks like it is going to be spicy in PvE.
There are two very clear and obvious rolls here, Heal-Clip/Incandescent and Loose-Change/Incandescent. Must we say more?
I don't PvP (because I am trash) so I'll sit out there.

Also it is really funny that last season we were all grinding for a Jurassic Green with Heal-Clip/Incandescent but the very next season we get the same roll in a better archetype(IMO)

Great gun feel. Amazing standalone perks. Amazing origin trait. However...

Perk combos aren't that good, and people aren't thinking before putting them on. Alloy magazine shouldn't be the 2nd most popular perk because you're unlikely to ever activate it (unless doing solo play, in which case keep on keeping on solo dungeoneers)

Stability masterwork is a good option here.

1st column:
Adhortative needs arrowhead brake, 61 recoil.

2nd column:
Either spec into reload or spec into ammo.
Alloy Magazine won't activate if you have a single Nano munitions stack. Don't use this with heal clip. Use Flared Magwell instead.
Appended Magazine is good. 126 rounds with max origin stacks.
Extended Magazine is good for pvp, ONLY if you're using a flying build. Both Extended and Appended will reload 12 bullets or 4 bursts each nano stack.

If you want to run another perk feel free, but you'll sideline the 3rd column perk you choose and the origin trait by not going with Flared/Appended/Extended.

3rd column:
Don't use Heal Clip with Alloy Magazine or Extended magazine. You're almost never gonna activate alloy's reload because of the origin trait, and extended punishes your reload speed. Use Flared Magwell instead for reload speed, and Appended for origin trait synergy. Best in slot, unless you want to fly around with air assault, or need reload speed from Loose Change.

Attrition orbs spawn time scales with mag size. 4 seconds at base, 4.6 with appended, 4.9 with extended.
Can only make 3 orbs with base magazine.
Can make 4 with appended, but you can only miss 3 bursts at max. Extended means you can only miss exactly 1 bullet (128 to make 4 orbs, 129 with max nano)
Takes 18 seconds to make 4 orbs with appended mag. 20 with extended.

Air assault is great on this. Origin trait means you can hang in the sky as long as you need to, so you can chain kills with a high mag.

4th column:
Incandescent is your go to PvE perk in the 4th column.
Golden Tricorn is good all around damage and for going from a red bar to a miniboss.
Moving Target or Headseeker if you're into PvP.

Origin trait: Nano Munitions
25% of total mag as emergency reload, x7 stacks. Gain 1 stack every 3 seconds when near an ally. Reload rounded up to burst as its a pulse rifle.
You dont want to use this gun without a fireteam or you might as well use any gun without an origin trait.
Pulse rifles reload their ammo per burst, not per bullet. Base reload per stack will be 9 ammo, 12 if using Appended or Extended in the second column.
With 7 stacks it gives 99 shots base, 126 appended, 129 extended.
This origin trait alone is an amazing team based origin trait. Great for PvP, and means if you're caught unawares you shouldn't need to reload.

Crafted:
Stability and Arrowhead are best in slot IMO (use ranged MW if you really want to, but stability is nice at all times)

PvE / PvP 1 - Flared Magwell / Heal Clip / Incandescent (Ad clear + healing. Sidelines the origin trait but you werent using it that much anyways)
PvE 2 - Appended Magazine / Attrition Orbs/ Golden Tricorn (for wailing on beefier enemies and gettin orbs. This maximizes use of the origin trait without punishing your reload speed)
PvP 2 - Extended Magazine / Air Assault/ Headseeker (Really good floaty pvp weapon, and extended gives you the air bonus even if it's not technically better ammo than Appended the best use of the origin trait.)
PvP 3 - High Caliber / Loose Change / Moving Target (With a solar subclass, loose change will hand you 20 aim assist and -20% movement speed penalty, and with moving target they both get buffed to basically max out your aim assist and practically let you sprint while ADSing. Solar hunters rejoice)

edit: Seriously, don't put Alloy mag on this. Either Light Mag or Flared Magwell if you need reload speed, and then in pvp you can run backup mag to get it to 45 mag.

Post-Loose Change buffs: It added a double buffed version of Moving Target to the effects, including 20 aim assist and -20% movement penalty while ADSing. Consider this with Moving Target in the 4th column and you can reach 100 Aim Assist with either the targeting adjuster mod on the gun and 1 helmet targeting mod, or with all 3 helmet mods and you can slip on counterbalance stock to reach 100 recoil.

I would trust this gun with my life. The pulse rifle PvE buff shines through with Adhorative, I've got a dropped roll with Feeding Frenzy Incandescent and combined with the seasonal mods it's a really great ad clear option. Fun to use, I'd really recommend it!

I was lucky enough to get an Attrition Orbs and Incandescent drop but from using it Incandescent doesn't seem to trigger Attrition Orbs (do correct me if I'm wrong or if this gets changed.) Still feels like a solid gun to use though

There are three guns right now that can have Attrition Orbs in 3rd column, but the other two have no 4th column crowd clear options. (Doomed Petitioner does have Destabilizing Rounds, but it's also in 3rd column so no combo).

I haven't been able to test it yet since RNG says no Adhortative for me, so I don't know if Incandescent contributes towards Attrition, but even if not that sounds like a promising combination of utility and crowd clear.

If not, there's always HC-Incandescent.

It performs surprisingly well and is one of the few pulses I have enjoyed using frequently in PVE, even if it isn't the new best in slot solar weapon. I have to admit, the look of the weapon is...growing on me.

Heal clip on this weapon is perfect for Warlocks as every cure will proc Ember of Benevolence for massive regen.
The god roll I would craft would be:
-Arrowhead break
-Flared or Ricochet
-Heal Clip ( Especially if you run Warlock)
-Incandescent

It's OK...been a while since I got my hands on this old thing and if there's been some under the hood changes, I couldn't tell you. I'm not swapping my BXR out for this as no Pugilist to sustain my melee snaps or my slide waves. Otherwise....fun little thing for groups as Heal clip is in 3rd, incandescent is in 4th.
