The Supremacy

"He didn't recognize me, at the end." —Jolyon Till the Rachis

"Here's the thing," he says. "No."

Petra is trying to hide the hurt in her expression. Watching her is exhausting, so Jolyon keeps his eye pressed to his sniper scope.

"I thought you would want to see it."

"Why? He's dead. He died a long time before you shot him. Or if you didn't," Jolyon says, as if Petra flinched, "you helped that Guardian do it."

"Jolyon," Petra starts.

He holds up a hand. "I'm not interested in your secrets." Then, quieter, "Please."

Silence falls over them as they lie side-by-side in a sniper's nest overlooking Rheasilvia. Both belly-down in the sand, clutching well-worn Supremacy rifles beneath their armpits. Petra takes a shot. A Taken Hive Knight seethes into nothingness.

Finally, she gets up to go. Jolyon rolls onto his side, pushes himself half-up and calls after her. "I still dream about the Garden."

She looks back. "I've dreamed about it, too," she says carefully.

"Not like I have." Jolyon licks his lips, trying to figure out if he has anything else to say. He finally decides that he doesn't, so he rolls back onto his belly to settle his cheek against the Supremacy once more.

"That's all. I just wanted someone to know."

Not sure why people aren't talking about enhanced Kinetic Tremors on this bad boy. In a damage rotation I'm switching to a sniper either a) because I'm out of heavy or b) because I need to proc bait and switch. In both of these scenarios Rewind Rounds/Kinetic Tremors is easily the way to go. Two shots with enhanced Tremors and I've triggered the shockwave and I'm switching back to my bait and switch Apex Predator, or I'm out of ammo and plowing in with Rewind Rounds and Kinetic Tremors - in both of these scenarios it's the way to go. The ultimate rotation here is one Recon/Bait Apex round, 2 KT Supremacy shots, a shot of whatever you have in your Energy, two Apex rounds, reload Apex, wait for Recon to give you another round, shoot out 2 Apex rockets, then go crazy with Supremacy for a little while (about 6 shots, doable with rewind without reloading), another round of your Energy, then the Apex recon rockets, reload and wait for recon round, then rock out the dps phase with your remaining Supremacy shots. Potentially the best rotation in the game but only on 3.5% of rolls tracked by the site.

Great PVP sniper as well if you get down with rapids. I think the perfect Timelost Praedyth's is a little better but this requires no RNG to get what you want, and Supremacy has a lower zoom value if you prefer that.

The Supremacy: a sniper rifle only given out once in Destiny. In Destiny 2, it was reprised with the introduction of the Dreaming City as a reward from Last Wish. When it was re-introduced, it was somewhat good since sniper rifles in PvE were doing good pre-shadowkeep, while in PvP Rapid fires could two shot bodyshot and completely dominated the meta until their bodyshot damage was eventually nerfed. With The Supremacy's perk refresh in Season of the Deep, this weapon sparked interest once again.

For PvE: Rapid Fire frames are the king of DPS, still allowing you to kill weaker adds with one shot and being able to spray rounds into a single target, especially with its most recent buff halving their recoil. You have two choices for DPS: Fourth Time's the Charm or Bait and Switch. When combined with Rewind Rounds, both can do quite a bit of damage in a short time. Rewind + FTTC can fire 64 rounds consecutively assuming you don't miss while Rewind + Bait & Switch can do great damage quickly, especially if you're waiting for your heavy to auto-load. You can't go wrong with either roll, but if I had to choose on the fly, I'd do Bait and Switch, since it has better damage for shorter phases and doesn't require you to only use it for a damage phase.

For PvP: Rapid Fire frames can't 2 body anymore, but they make up for that with extremely high aim assist and decent handling. Paired with Fluted Barrel and a Handling Masterwork, you can reach 93 handling and get a lightning-fast ADS time with Snapshot Sights. With Opening Shot and a targeting adjuster mod, you can get to 100 aim assist on your buffed shot. If you're someone who wants to go against the grain, Discord is an interesting choice since it has a bigger buff to ADS speed than Snapshot sights (25% faster instead of Snapshot's 20%) and if you get a kill while it's active, it will refund a single round, allowing for some nasty streaks if you can land your headshots. It's hard to not recommend, but these archetypes do have a glaring weakness against supers since no matter what you cannot one tap them and it's harder to clean up weaker targets thanks to its lower bodyshot damage.

Great gun overall, this refresh pushed it from "Niche Fun Pick" to "Possibly meta if sniper rifles become good again." For you rapid fire-enjoyers out there, it's a must have.

PvE: Fluted Barrel - Appended Mag - Rewind Rounds - Bait and Switch/Fourth Time's the Charm - Reload MW (B&S)/Stability MW (FTTC)

PvP: Fluted Barrel - Ricochet Rounds - Snapshot Sights/Discord - Opening Shot - Handling MW - Targeting Adjuster

Enhanced Rewind Rounds and enhanced Kinetic Tremors is the way to go on this thing. It only takes two shots to proc Kinetic Tremors, while the tremors are going off you can quickly swap to heavy and do big damage. Rewind and FTTC is a cute meme roll but if you're serious about neutralizing threats, go with my suggested combination.

A legendary that is so fun to use it feels like it could be an exotic, the Supremacy might be my favourite purple in the game right now. With rewind rounds you can get 14+ shots off before reloading, pair that with a high firerate full-auto and good damage and it feels sort of like you're riding a bull trying to control your recoil while dumping as many bullets into your enemy's head. Additionally it's a weapon from the very beginning of destiny 1 which is something that gives a good amount of serotonin to my boomer brain

The only roll of this that really exists is appended mag + rewind rounds + bait and switch/fourth time's the charm. Somebody who is much better at math than me could probably determine how many precision shots you need to hit for FTTM to get more damage than bait and switch (if that even happens at all), but I personally like bait and switch because it lets me equip an exotic heavy and get a shot off with it before switching. For that I like using Two Tailed Fox with the new catalyst as I get to fire one rocket that omega-debuffs the boss before switching to the Supremacy. Tractor Cannon could be another decent option for the additional damage but you'd have to get comfortable with hitting sniper shots while being in shotgun range. The ammo reserves feel a bit low for how fast this gun fires, but that can be fixed with mods if you can spare the slots for it.

this gun's made me realize how much fun a good sniper can be for pve. from fourth times the charm to bait n' switch to kinetic tremors, supremacy is great for doing the traveler's work. it also just feels good to use-----the fast firing and the uncluttered scope and little particle effects that it shoots out are nice quality of life things.

i agree with the other reviewers, Rewind + FTTC is funny, but imo, kinetic tremors has been the way to go. however, i've seen some sharpshootin' hunters do great with bait and switch w/ dragon's breath.

The Supremacy is Supreme among Sniper Rifles, especially Rapid Fires. Take your pick - DPS, Multi-Role, or PvP.

For DPS, Rewind Rounds + Fourth Times the Charm/Bait and Switch is the way to go, and all anyone seems interested in, evidently. With Fourth Times you can fire an insane number of consecutive shots: something like 64 shots consecutively, which is frankly ridiculous. In terms of total DPS, this is beating anything. However, you may also want to consider Bait and Switch, as the Fourth Times roll lacks any sort of DPS boost, and lets be real for a moment - in what universe are you going to have the opportunity to fire all 64 of those shots without reloading, PLUS the extra special ammo doubtless lying around, unless you are dead empty on both Heavy ammo and Super? Its amazing, sure, but a tad too crazy to be practical in most DPS situations IMO. Bait and Switch offers a hefty 35% Damage boost, which will almost certainly out DPS Fourth Times in the typical shorter burst window of a DPS phase as a sub-weapon. Ultimately its up to your preference, and you can't go strictly wrong with either.

As a multi-role weapon that can serve both add clear AND decent sub weapon DPS, look no further than Kinetic Tremors. Enhanced, this perk triggers off of a mere TWO sniper crits, making it extremely easy to send shockwaves though a group of adds or add DoT to a chunkier target. Of particular note, the ability to trigger it off two shots makes it excellent for Rocket DPS rotations, especially with fellow Last Wish weapon Apex Predator, as proccing Tremors then rotating back to proc Bait and Switch on Apex can give Reconstruction time to reload. In general, Tremors is more multipurpose than the two DPS perks, and fits better as part of a swapping rotation with the ability to apply DoT.

Finally, PvP. Man, this sniper was the SHIT back before Sunsetting and the various Sniper PvP nerfs. The loss of the Rapid-Fire two body kill really shifted the meta towards chunkier weapons, since those can more easily dome supers. However, reborn Supremacy is still godlike in PvP. Snapshot and Opening Shot is the play: maybe Keep Away or Elemental Capacitor if you're feeling spicy, but you CANNOT go wrong with Snap and Opening. With a base zoom of 40, its hitting that ideal zoom for those that mind that at all, even though zoom is increasingly being uncoupled from stats other than itself.

Overall, the Supremacy is another incredible offering from Last Wish's reprised loot pool, and like the other best guns from this raid it is an incredibly potent offering. Accept this gift Supreme, O Sniper Mine, and fill your foes world with headshots.

RECOMMENDED ROLLS:
PVE: Arrowhead Brake / Ricochet Rounds / Keep Away or Rewind Rounds / Bait & Switch, Fourth Times the Charm, or Vorpal Weapon
PVP: Arrowhead Brake / Ricochet Rounds / Keep Away or Snapshot Sights / Opening Shot

i got a random roll with keep away + bait & switch and this is legitimately one of the best feeling special weapons i've ever used. i've tried using a number of snipers over the last few seasons with all the changes they made to damage and flinch in PVE, but it wasn't until i tried this gun that i felt like snipers might actually be in a pretty good place.

bait & switch really helps amp the damage to some reasonably high numbers, but there are some ridiculously strong rolls you can get on this gun even without the B&S. vorpal is a solid damage increase, and you can get the hilarious roll of rewind rounds + fourth time's the charm, which combined with the naturally deep reserves of a rapid-fire frame can give you something like 60+ consecutive shots without having to reload a single time. kinetic tremors certainly has potential and uses a damage scaler that varies per weapon archetype, so it's hard to say exactly how strong it is now, and personally i'm not planning to shoot a sniper for mobbing, even as a bonus to my primary damage loop. you do you though, it could be very strong.

even for PVP, i love this archetype. low zoom and high aim assist means you'll get some criminal shots if you get a roll with opening shot on it (gives you 97 aim assist! crafted rolls with enhanced opening shot get 100!!!), and then you have the options of keep away or snapshot sights to match your personal preference. personally, 68 handling is already getting pretty high up there and i can't imagine wanting a barrel other than arrowhead brake, so i'll pass on snapshot sights in favor of the accuracy bonuses from keep away.

all in all, it's damn good. if you haven't used a sniper in a while, sign up for a kalli farm next time last wish is the rotating raid, grab a supremacy, combine it with a mid/short-range primary to keep your kit well-rounded, and pop some heads. you might be surprised how effective this weapon is nowadays.
