Don't let it hang over you.
"Thank you for speaking with me, Ghost," Saint said. The Exo was seated in the H.E.L.M., the Guardian's Ghost floating in front of him.
"Anytime, Saint. What can I do to help?"
Saint leaned back in his seat, considering.
"You and the Guardian have seen those Vex with the rings around their necks," Saint continued, drawing a finger in a circle around his own neck. "'Yokes,' Osiris calls them."
Ghost nodded.
"They are tethered to… something. And it is making them act strangely. Not like Vex at all! We do not know if it is a new Mind, or something else. Whatever crashed on Nessus seems to be the cause."
Ghost squinted, contracting his shell. Saint spoke carefully.
"I wonder if it is the same as when the Witness spoke through you. Took control of you."
Ghost looked away, his central eye darting back and forth. He hummed in thought.
"I don't know. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, though. Not even the Vex! It was horrible." Ghost bobbed in emphasis, his shell shivering. Then he swayed sharply, as if shaking away the memory.
"Did you speak with Osiris about it?" Saint-14 asked. "I imagine that you both share something in common in your individual experiences… him with Savathûn, and you with the Witness."
Ghost shook his shell in a sign of "no." Saint looked at him quizzically.
"I didn't want to bring up any bad memories for him," he admitted. "And it's hard to talk about."
"I'm sorry," Saint said. "You are safe with us now."
Ghost went quiet, contracting his shell flaps pensively as he looked down.
"I know it will take time for you to feel safe again."
Ghost nodded. When he spoke again, his voice was low, and the trill of his shell was softer.
"When it was just my voice, that first time on Europa, it was scary. It made me feel like I couldn't trust myself. But when it happened again on Neptune, and then got so much worse with the Veil… I almost wished my Guardian had…"
Saint was silent, listening intently. He gave a soft nod of encouragement.
"Do you think what's happening on Nessus is the same thing?" Ghost said, concerned.
"I hope not," Saint answered. He reached out and carefully patted Ghost on the edge of his shell. "But it is only the Vex! I am certain we have nothing to fear."
