Veist Stinger paired with Rewind Rounds is absolutely disgusting. Alternatively, Envious Assassin or Auto-Loading Holster. Bait and Switch in the final column. 3-shot burst. What else is there to say? The perks are great, the archetype is great, can be made stronger with Unraveling Rounds.

The LFR with the same model, Taipan, used to be the real deal, so this successor truly fills those boots greatly.

Scintillation is the gun that you will never reload. I got a roll with Arrowhead/Ionized battery/Rewind/Bait & Switch with the equipped origin perk of Veist Stinger and have yet to reload this thing. Veist can proc from any of the three bolts shot from the weapon, reloading the gun back to half, while on the occasion where veist fails to reload for me, rewind rounds has my back reloading 2 shots back in, giving more chance for veist to go off. I'd say if the sandbox was more in tune with Linears, this gun would stand out above the rest.

Easily the best linear in the game.
- Strand for Unraveling Rounds
- Adept Mods
- 2 perks in first column for double reload perks (envious swap rapid hit etc.)
- 4 good damage perks with surrounded being the highest percentage (47 when enhanced)
- Veist Stinger on a 3-burst with good stats

Ahh yes Scintillation IMO a very good linear fusion rifle. A good roll i would recommend is rewind rounds with bait and switch. Though all perks are really good. And with this week being double reward and rep its the perfect time to farm this what ever roll you want

Remember when I mentioned that Line in the Sand seemed pretty strong? That was before I saw this beauty. Scintillation really brings home the gold for being the best LFR to exist for the foreseeable future. Right now that doesn't mean a terrible amount since LFRs are a bit weak in the meta (snipers rule due to the artifact perks, plus as of writing this, Choir of One is glitched to output frankly ridiculous damage when paired with Div bubble), but don't pass on this weapon just because it isn't good now. Next season (episode???) could very well be this weapon's time in the limelight, and even if it isn't the absolute strongest now, it's still plenty competitive!

For the third column, we have a host of good ammo perks. No Reconstruction, which is sad, but we have plenty to make up for it, in the form of either Envious Assassin, or even better, Rewind Rounds! Remember how good Rewind Rounds made Outbreak Perfected due to how the gun worked? Each shot in the three-round burst counts towards the perk proc, so as long as you hit all of your shots, between Rewind and the origin trait, you more likely than not won't even have to reload to dump all of your ammo. In case you're playing in activities where extended damage phases aren't feasible (Nightfalls perhaps?), the gun also comes with ALH and Rapid Hit. Remember how good both perks were on Stormchaser? It works even better here!

The fourth column is the reason why: Just like Cataclysm before it, Scintillation has the coveted Bait-and-Switch, which pairs perfectly with Rewind Rounds. The only downside is having to pretty much lean exclusively into this weapon to maximize your DPS with it, but since reloading isn't an issue unlike with other BnS weapons, it's actually not hard to! This weapon is essentially the combo we've wanted for so long in an LFR: the archetype of Briar's + Rewind, combined with the BnS of Cataclysm, and finalizing with an underrepresented element in Strand. Laser Painter who?

If you do want other damage perks (though I wouldn't know why you would), you have a host of decent ones to choose from: Firing Line does have a lower skill ceiling, but it does require a team; there's also Surrounded but... we know why that's not great for obvious reasons; lastly, if you have Envious, the perk pairs nicely with Reservoir Burst surprisingly, allowing for a 19 round mag where almost 3/4s of the shots have that 25% damage boost!

This beast of a Linear will surely rule the meta at some point, and when it does, I hope you rolled for a god roll of your own!

Ionized Coils, Envious Assassin, Reservoir Burst with Veist Stinger is simply nasty.
Allows 19 shots in the mag with shots 19 through 7 a +25% damage boost from reservoir.
That just seems illegal to me!

Passively it feels amazing to shoot compared to similar LFR, tried different rolls on this weapons and there's 2 obvious winners:
- Rewind Rounds + Bait and Switch, with the Veist Stinger OT it's amazing, you can "technically" dump the whole reserves without manual reaload.
- Envious Assasin + Reservoir Burst, it's another trait combo that is worth using in some scenarios for a quicker 25% bonus damage on all shots above base magazine whenever EA is active.
I guess you could make an argument on Surrounded, but is not that easy to proc on most situations and I wouldn't go into meele range with an LFR in the current sandbox.
Another trait worth of being here is Rapid Hit, that bump in stability makes that your reticle doesn't even move. Also a side note that the base Backup Mag Mod is better than the Adept one as the later one doesn't add an extra shot compared to the base version and makes you lose 10 Stability.

In PVE, it has an incredible perk pool and archetype. If only it wasn't a Linear Fusion Rifle in a Still Hunt and Whisper of the Worm damage meta.

Don't bother using in PVP, there are way better options.

Veist was kinda slacking when they rolled out Laser Painter for Gambit, here they are rolling up their sleeves for Scintillation (and its Adept version).
Envious Assassin or Rewind Rounds are your picks in Column 3, but I lean more towards RR, as with the Veist Stinger trait partially reloading the mag, you can fire off all 22 bolts without having to reload. 21 if you roll a mag perk or slap on backup mag.
There’s a lot of attention on Bait & Switch, and for good reason; but if you roll Firing Line, I wouldn’t pass up on that either. B&S does require a full damage rotation with weapons that work for that, whereas Firing Line just needs you to stand close to your fireteam, without worry of re-proc. Just lay down the trigger. You lose out on a little DPS, but for most guardians, this shouldn’t be noticeable.
Grind this out! If you missed out on Doomed Petitioner from last season or are lacking in a good 3-round burst linear, this is a no-brainer.

After the disappointment that was Laser Painter (gambit strand Linear fusion) This is nice to see. Arguably, one of the best in it's class. This thing has some absolutely disgusting perks, Bait and switch, Firing line, Envious assassin, and Rewind rounds with the veist stinger origin trait, you're more likely to run out of ammo before you have to reload. This thing is awesome.

Some great perks here. Got Wewind Wownds+Bait (try with firing line, Envi too). It's worth the farm. It definitely can compete with other raid linears out there.

The first 3 burst LFR with rewind rounds and bait & switch. This thing has the potential to do some nasty DPS and is totally worth farming for. It's essentially an endless magazine with a great damage buff on top of it. Envious assassin would also do well, but rewind rounds seems like the play. This could be nicely incorporated into some strand builds too.

First roll was Chambered Compensator/Enhanced Battery/Rapid Hit/Bait N Switch with a Reload MW. The reload on this thing is LIGHTNING FAST, fast enough that I may not bother grinding for a Rewind Rounds roll. ALH and Rewind are probably better choices but Rapid Hit ain't no bitch, either.

Not sure why the downvote. Rapid Hit also provides Stability which imo helps a burst LFR like this.

Though of course the chase is still likely Rewind/EA/ALH, I could see arguments for Rapid Hit.

Rapid hit's an ok perk for LFR but when you're talking about good rolls I think there is just much better options here.

I have a roll of

Extended Barrel or Full Bore
Ionized Battery or Projection Core
Rewind Rounds
Bait and Switch
Veist Stinger
Charge Time MasterWork
Adept Mod ( I was Running Adept Charge Time)

What barrel and Mag would you run? I’m thinking extended barrel, Ionized Battery, Adept Charge Time. Should I switch Adept Charge Time to get 100 recoil control?
