Overflowing Light

Using an ability (grenade, melee, or Barricade) empowers the other two abilities. Empowered means abilities have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points.

Grenade or Class Ability usage and dealing Elemental Melee damage grants the 'Empowered Abilities' buff to the other two abilities for 5 seconds.

e.g.: Barricade Usage 🠚 Empowered Grenade and Melee Abilities

Buff display on the HUD is nonsensical and does not accurately represent the buff's behavior when chaining multiple abilities together.

Empowered Melee x1|x2 benefits:
• 10% | 20% increased melee damage
• 400% [PVP: 100%] | 800% [PVP: 200%] Additional Base Melee Regeneration Rate

Empowered Grenade x1|x2 benefits:
• 20% [PVP: 10%] | 35% [PVP: 20%] increased grenade damage
• 400% [PVP: 100%] | 800% [PVP: 200%] Additional Base Grenade Regeneration Rate

Empowered Class Ability x1|x2 benefits:
• 25%|50% Additional Base Class Ability Regeneration Rate
• Does not grant any measurable benefit to Barricade HP despite stating it does

Clarity tooltip editor's note: We're replacing the previous Powered Melee term with Elemental Melee. The former is now exclusively used for perks that require the consumption of a Melee Ability Charge. This note is temporary and will be removed in the future.

Heart of Inmost Light

On the cusp between life and light, between death and destruction.

He was a man.

He'd been another man. Another man before that. And another man before that. And another. Another. And yet another. How many lives now? How many deaths? He came to believe that each time his Ghost brought him back, he came back a new man. But he was a new man who carried with him the burden of all the lives before him. One after another after another, and each and every one of them weighed upon his shoulders in a way only Atlas could comprehend.

But he was a Titan.

Muscle and might and metal—a mountain of it, they said. There was no burden he could not bear. That's what they said. He nodded and waved away the adulations. He went to his quarters each night, in the half tower he had commissioned, and he laid in bed, his feet incapable of stillness as a thousand million insects scurried their way up and down the sinews of his muscles, instigating perpetual and maddening motions that all his muscle and might couldn't stop. An insurmountable restlessness that prevented what little respite he could find in his nightmare-fueled sleep.

Yet he was a champion. A leader. The bright shining example of all that was good and enduring.

There was a City to build. A species to protect. Extinction to prevent. Invaders to repel. Wars to fight. Lives to live. Deaths to die. What was it he said once to one of the newly risen? The Light shines brightest in those it consumes? Oh, how he felt consumed.

He stood up from his bed. Crossed to the window that framed the entity that had cursed him. Though it chose not to speak to him, he knew what it wanted. And the only way to end its curse was to give it what it wanted—to destroy that which would see it destroyed.

Maybe then he could sleep.

100 Resilience and 100 Discipline with this already gets you quite far. Also equipping Bountiful Wells, Elemental Ordnance and Melee Wellmaker a few times and you can achieve the most insane ability spam in the game, which is technically viable for every single subclass, but performs the greatest on Void 3.0 and Stasis. I doubt I'm taking these off anytime soon.

Even better this season with solar. Since you get the little throwing hammer back when you pick it up you can basically spam the other two abilities too with this exotic!
Put down a barrier, and throw your hammer on the barrier to pick it up instantly (you can kill enemy that walked inside your barrier with this and heal with sunspot from kills.) Super broken in non endgame content that you can one shot mobs with your melee. Even in endgame content if you are decent level and have empowered melee on you can still one shot mobs!

After the nerf that Lightfall brought, it's no longer as dominant as it once was. It's still the best PVE exotic by a country mile, but now it's mainly because the other exotics are really bad instead of HOIL being busted broken.

There are better options for PvP, but for PvE content, this exotic feels ridiculous after the 30th anniversary update. Diamond lance also procs the overflowing light perk, so it gets pretty crazy when you start chucking stasis around all over the place. Most champions can be completely stunlocked if you spam duskfields, melees, and barricades.

Great exotic, despite the nerfs still among the best in the game. Grants amazing energy regen which is super easy to activate. All you have to do is press the ability button. Amazing energy regen and makes the ability's stronger, can't ask for more. Use it on Arc/Void for the best effect. Best compared to Nezerec's Sin. Gives more regen, and buffs your abilities in comparison

This thing with code of the commander is the most fun I have had on my titan. With proper use, you have next to no CD on your abilities. Have fun watching hordes of enemies chain explode from melee and grenades, only to have them refresh each others CDs.

A versatile exotic for ability spamming with any subclass. Using one ability buffs the others for a bit and speeds up cooldown time. Used it for Void 3.0 and Solar 3.0. Viable for all kinds of PvE content, even endgame and GMs.

T10 Resilience and T10 Discipline is bizarre, especially with the new Solar 3.0. That mini hammer could start some things...

A definitive BiS Exotic for all Titan builds. Amazing for general use in PvE or PvP, and while not as strong as some more specialized Exotics, HoIL is always working overtime for you.

Probably still BiS, but heavily nerfed with the release of Lightfall. It is a must have for Titan builds, since most other Exotics are not interesting, or not as good (and the difference is big).
