Q: What are masterwork rolls?
A: Most legendary weapons are capable of being Masterworked. The masterwork system is a way for you to upgrade your favorite weapons to their maximum potential.
Q: What does it take to upgrade a weapon to a masterwork?
A: Upgrading your weapons, in broad terms, takes a small amount of glimmer, legendary shards, and, most importantly, Enhancement Cores.
Depending on what Tier your weapon is at, the requirements to raise it to the next tier increase the closer the weapon is to being fully masterworked (Tier 10).
Q: What benefits do I get for masterworking a weapon?
A: Each tier that you increase your weapon will grant a small buff to a single stat, chosen randomly when the item drops.
Beyond that, at Tier 5 you gain access to a kill tracker. At Tier 10, your multi-kills will generate orbs of light.
Q: So what are these "masterwork roll" stats?
A: These are the possible stats that upgrading your weapon will grant a bonus to. Depending on what tier you are at, you can grant anywhere from 1-10 additional points in any of the stats listed to your weapon.
Q: Any catch with this?
A: The Bungie API currently says that all weapons can potentially roll with all stats as their masterwork stat. This obviously isn't accurate, as Blast Radius isn't applicable to, say, Auto Rifles.
The list you see on this page is trimmed to only show stats that actually appear on the weapon. However, it is possible that Bungie has additional logic behind the scenes that further filters these
possibilities to, for example, prevent certain items from being able to have an Impact masterwork. Until Bungie modifies the API files to 100% accurately display which masterwork stats are possible on
each item, take what you see here with a pinch of salt.
10/10 havent even gotten it yet
Too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron.
in pvp, its not going to be better than black talon since that thing has a range attack, but falling guillotine's lingering hitbox from heavy attacks can catch people off guard.
What is there to say? 3 perks in slot 3, 4 in slot 4. Perfectly matching numbers, low for a weapon and yet it contains everything this weapon needs. Relentless Strikes is perfect for being economical with your ammo between sessions of spinning to win, Tireless is less popular with this weapons clear ability to do big DEEPS, and Energy Transfer is wasted on a weapon that would much rather be making like its namesake and decapitating the Aristocracy... the Aristocracy being the massively tangled family tree that is the Hive. Every slain Ultra or Elite is a direct descendant of the Hive Gods, and an act of rebellion! Vive La Revolution!
[Cough]... Anyway, slot 4 has En Garde (no amount of fancy French will save said perk from being bad, unless that French is 'amélioration', which is French for 'Improvement'); Counterattack (which is still bad after its nerf yoinks ago and really needs a duration increase); Surrounded (which while winning points on Bequest will not surpass the winner here); and the obvious best option, Whirlwind Blade (it works on a per hit basis, which makes a Vortex frame an ideal pairing due to its multi-hitting heavies). The stats speak for themselves - 73.6% of Guardians agree that Whirlwind Blade is 'The Best (TM)'.
If you were lucky enough to play during Arrivals, you could even own a Falling Guillotine with multiple perks, such as mine that has both Surrounded AND Whirlwind Blade (no Swordmasters Guard, but hey 4/5 is more than good enough when Charge Rate can be modded up). Otherwise your best bet is to keep an eye on Banshee and Xur. Its possible it could drop from Dares of Eternity too - check the front page on that. Regardless, it is the opinion of this humble reviewer that EVERYONE should own a Falling Guillotine for home defence, just as the Iron Lords intended.
side story, reading the other reviews around Falling Guillotine here made me want to upvote them (particularly the Berserk Reference) so I went to upvote, I needed to sign in.
I said to myself 'fine', then signed in. when it was done I found out that light.gg is able to look into my stuff and show me what's good and what isn't.
I didn't know that. I have been tabbing in and tabbing out of this website for about 3 days now, constantly searching up weapons to manually judge their perks one by one,
just to shave off some storage on my 580 slot filled Vault. I think you can imagine how long I was banging my head into the desk.
