It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.

Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.

TIP: Popularity Ranks

The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

Its a high impact fusion, which already puts it at a disadvantage compared to other fusions. HOWEVER, reservoir burst on this thing currently procs on every overflowed shot from the origin trait. Field prep reservoir burst and as much stability as possible would be a godroll. Notable mention for cornered surrounded, with enhanced surrounded granting up to about 45% extra damage with surrounded spec.

With Reservoir Burst, this thing is Loaded Question on steroids. What makes this gun so special is that it's origin trait makes it so that every overflowed shot from it will be a Reservoir Burst shot. It also has Arc 3.0 synergy as well as 2 less shots than that of Loaded. I got mine with Pugilist and it does a good job of replenishing melee energy. I would look for Field Prep in the first column for the added reserves and reload, as reserves are a bit small and the reload is very slow, or Unrelenting for more survivability in end-game content. Good for high enemy density group content.

every one talking about reservoir burst, but the fact this thing has backup plan means it can be one of the best pvp fusions in the game. Pair backup with kick start and you can have a charge time below .6 seconds. Back up plan with successful warm up will make sure you never go above a .7 charge time again. The only thing to hate is the zoom but that still wont stop how blistering fast, and far, this gun will smoke people.

Assuming no other damage-affecting perks or abilities, Backup Plan does not change the bolts to kill on a high-impact fusion. It's four bolts either way on a 10 resil target, which many people are running. 9 resil does get 3-bolt killed baseline, though any damage falloff at all will obviously matter a ton here. (Liquid Coils isn't enough to push it any further as far as I can tell.)

Backup Plan + Kickstart can get 3-bolt kills on 5 or less resil, which is worse than baseline, but cuts the charge time to nearly rapid-fire levels--and if you don't mind just accepting a four-bolt kill, Accelerated Coils and Charge Time Masterwork brings it down to 493ms.

Source is the Massive Breakdown spreadsheet.

Whether that makes it worth running over fusions of another archetype is not something I'm qualified to say. Things do start to get interesting once you add things like Radiant or Gyrfalcon's Hauberk to the mix...

If you pair a Backup Plan and Reservior Burst roll with a single fusion holster mod, your first shot has a faster charge time than a precision frame with the same impact, plus the extra damage and AoE of Res Burst, then you can just swap back to your primary and it will be reloaded and ready again in 4 seconds. Additionally, you can store multiple Res Burst shots in a row with Runneth Over, and unlike Auto-loading Holster, the fusion holster mod will NOT remove the extra shots. Fusion enjoyers, this one is choice.

Why is field prep not being used as much when it is the best perk when paired with reservoir burst? As this is a high impact fusion, the reload time on this thing is abysmal. The point of having reservoir burst is to reload to it very quickly so you can keep spamming it. Backup plan is terrible as it reduces your damage by 20%.

Range is also pointless on fusion rifles, you want to spec into stability when crafting this.

As far as PvP goes, Backup Plan on high-impact fusions makes no difference in the TTK, it's 4 bolts at 10 res for a kill, 3 on everything below that. Range isn't pointless, but yes stability is more important if you have to pick between the two. Both is best.

While rapid fire fusions will probably always be the most popular choice (especially with Iterative Loop having the capability to roll compulsive reloader with voltshot),. That being said, this is one of the few fusion rifles that can use Reservoir Burst for multiple consecutive shots thanks to the Runneth Over origin trait.

I recommend Chambered Compensator, Particle Repeater, Field Prep, Reservoir Burst, and a stability masterwork. Its range is already fine at base given its frame, so minimizing the recoil between shots in the burst will make it much more consistent against beefier enemies. Unfortunately at the time of this review (S20/Defiance), there's not many (if any) ways to get this weapon Overcharged, so I don't know how it would fare in high-end content. But for 90% of the game, this thing will shred through most enemies, has huge reserves + a snappy reload with Field Prep, and when near even just 2 allies you get 3 consecutive RB shots.

If you have this thing crafted, level it up and give it a try. It's more fun than you might think.

Cornered & Surrounded are a slept on combo. They proc together on when 3 enemies are near and you can just start blasting.

The PvE utility is obvious so I won't go into it. PvP, however, is massively slept on. People have a bias against Backup Plan after the nerf years ago, but don't realize it doesn't matter on high-impact fusions, it only makes them better. The damage remains, in effect, the same. So Backup Plan + TTT and you will be quickdrawing and mapping people like nobody's business.

It's funny that this fusion has an infamously slow charge time, because the first one I ever got had backup plan + successful warm up, and a charge time masterwork. It can also roll with reservoir burst, which is super fun to use in pve activities. Other than that, it's hipfire-for-spread, ads-for-precison makes is a very good all-around fusion rifle.

This thing is quite good. Love the scope.

The 5 PvP stars are specifically for one perk combo — BPlan and SW-U. It's so crisp, it's great for shutting down aggression, and when you get SW-U rolling you can go hunting. Slap a Counterbalance on, put on a Fusion targeting mod, go to town. Kickstart is very, very hard to effectively use with 960's, especially if you're not using BPlan or Cornered, and I'm really not a fan of Cornered. You can even get Hipfire Grip if you're one of... those... And, of course, TTT, ol' reliable.

Haven't tried it in PvE, people here say it's cool.
