The only thing that really needs to be said is that most of the guns it's on have options which make Head Rush completely obsolete. Shoot to Loot. Overflow. Envious Assassin.

People are saying you can proc it alongside Field Prep for the rocket launcher, but the setup is a headache. The whole appeal of Field Prep is that you don't ACTUALLY have to stay crouched to take advantage, just hold it long enough to tap the reload button (or put the whole process on a macro) and get back to business. Having to actually stay crouched for 2 seconds, stand up, crouch again and reload, is some tryhard nonsense. Even if you put THAT on a macro, the additional two seconds just makes you break even with the BASE reload time. Absurd.

It's also kinda bewildering that a decent crouch-activated perk like Firmly Planted, which works well on sniper and fusion rifles and would mesh seamlessly with Head Rush, shows up on neither the sniper rifle nor the fusion rifle. Like, this trait actually might have been KINDA OKAY if they had just put ANY effort into allowing decent roll combos.

I was really worried Bungie would eventually run out of Origin Trait ideas if they decided to make too many unique ones instead of just making one for each blanket faction a gun belongs to (e.g all Hive weapons, all Fallen weapons, etc). Ones like this one don't do much to reassure me.

Been using the new seasonal weapons for a little bit and I actually forgot they had an origin trait. Honestly the trait feels only slightly better than "one quite moment" because it can be proced in combat but man is it not really there. Like you can feel the handling and reload boost slightly but when compared to season of the deep's origin trait it pales in comparison. "Unsated hunger" activates when you have no ability, grenade, or melee but is extremely noticeable and useful for when all you can do is just shoot but "headrush" doesn't have that same feeling or effect.

Because of the how to proc the trait is pretty niche since you have to be crouched for about 2-4 seconds to activate it you have to play with the trait instead of it just helping in normal gameplay. This seems to be the only origin trait that asks you to go out of your usual play to use, which isn't a bad thing but it doesn't exactly help the weapons to hold this trait. When you compare it to some prior seasonal weapon origin traits it's about the middle to lower half of the pack since "noble deeds" is still the worst on IMHO. (Like how many actually remember "noble deeds", like what it does and how to proc it)

I can see some uses in pvp with using it to get the befits of reload and handling buff and with the bonus of not needing the weapon out to activate the trait but honestly it has stiff competition IMHO. It just feels like bungie was being pretty conservative with the trait and could of had it activate with different methods such as rapid precision hits or kills as well as the crouch method. A okay origin trait that is held back by its activation method in my book.

They fed us good with Unsated, now it's back to the weird throwaways that you forget about.

I will say that, while it takes some practice to get used to, it does combine with the reload speed bonus of field prep on the rocket. You just gotta stand up and crouch immediately after to get the headrush flowing and the field prep bonus active, which is something at least.
