in PVE, you'll want to make up for the generally low stats that 120 RPM handcannons have to make it feel like it competes with other primary weapons. low stability, low handling, and low reload speed means you'll have to find ways to either bring up specific stats in ways that favor your playstyle, or focus on a combined stat-total across all stats for a more "snappy" feel. keep away is a great perk for this, leading my preferred PVE god roll of...

Fluted Barrel / Flared Magwell / Keep Away / Hatchling / Handling or Reload MW

keep away will keep this gun feeling consistent at longer ranges and accentuates a playstyle where you can keep your distance, pop heads, and let hatchlings do the hard work for you.

in PVP, this gun's got some sauce. killing wind can alleviate the sluggish feeling the gun has with a giant handling boost, but keep away will be an excellent perk for sticking in the back, holding a lane, and shooting with your teammate. don't sleep on under pressure, as it helps alleviate the terrible stability issues that 120 RPM handcannons have, and an 8-bullet magazine by default means you'll start getting benefits to under pressure on the 5th bullet. my preferred PVP god roll would be...

Fluted Barrel or Polygonal Rifling / Flared Magwell or Ricochet Rounds / Killing Wind or Keep Away / Kill Clip / Stability or Reload MW

overall, 120 RPM handcannons are kind of in a weird spot for both PVE and PVP, but this is a standout gun and is the strongest long-range primary weapon we have for strand (unless we get a scout or pulse rifle in the raid)

EDIT: i was wrong! golden tricorn x1 does NOT give you a two-tap in PVP. it'll give you a 1 head, 2 body kill. definitely recommending kill clip instead of tricorn for that faster TTK, edited my recommended PVP roll above and removed my sentence stating golden tricorn gives you a 2-tap kill.

How does Harmony fare in PvP? I've found a Keep Away / Harmony roll that seems to be able to two-tap as long as I get a kill with anything else ( 96 per headshot ), is it any viable?

Subsistence / Hatchling + Lucky Pants. Great Strand option.

Do you like Hand Cannons? Do you like Subclass synergy? Wanna run Strand? Then here's your only option for now - hope you like 120s! (because I don't...)

In all fairness, this is a pretty decent option for Hatchling, with Keep Away and Envious Assassin being the obvious pairings. Alternatively Subsistence is a solid option for a high damage weapon like this, and frankly any Primary weapon is going to work well with Nanotech Tracer rockets. It isn't the BEST option for Hatchling generation IMO, but if you like Hand Cannons this is literally your only option unless the Raid drops a 180 or 140 on us. Consider slapping a mag perk or backup mag on however, as that base 8 shots is just bad.

However, the other half of this things perk pool seems solid for PvP. Killing Wind, Under Pressure and Perfect Float with Kill Clip, Opening Shot and Elemental Capacitor make for some nice options. Just make sure to craft one with Ricochet Rounds and a Stability Masterwork, as this things base Stability is terrible and despite that base 97 recoil direction it WILL kick awfully unless mitigated.

Finally, a craftable 120 for the masses.

Hnad cannons, especially 120's, have rarely seen use in pve, with many gravitating towards better options such as GLs or SMGs. However, this hand cannon does have some things that can make it worth it.
I subsistence and hatchling have great synergy, both activating on kill, but kill clip and keep away are also great option if you want some variety.

Crucible is where i can see this gun really shine. Killing wind and keep away in column 3 are standout perks to fit different playstyles, and kill clip is incredible in column 4, turning the gun into a 2-tap for guardians under 10 resilience. Opening shot and element capacitor are also great options for a more neutral 120. Being craftable is great as well, allowing you to build into whatever you want. It does fall short in comparison to the monster 120s of igneous and true prophecy, however.

Good overall weapon, which can be built in many ways to fit personal preferences, but struggles to stand toe-to-toe with other options in the game.

Awesome 120 for pvp and good for pve being a 120. Keep away with kill clip or opening shot crafted on this thing is just so good and reall makes it a great kinetic 120 to compete with other 120s like igneous hammer. nanotech rockets are cool and can just add to consistency

Console god roll:

Fluted / Flared / Keep Away / Hatchling or Kill Clip

Mostly blazing fast reloads when keep away is proc’d + boost from flared mag. Good range and great damage and feels snappy af. Also feeds so well into my strand build w hatchling.
120 is back on the menu!

With the hand cannon and hatchling buffs, this thing is a menace in PVE right now. Highly recommend picking one up if you can, Hatchling + any sort of reload or ammo economy perk in first slot like keep away, subsistence, hell even envious assassin or fourth time's the charm, and you'll have a good time in any level of PVE. Does great damage, one taps weaker red bars with ease, and just feels great to use, other than the reload speed being a little unfortunate depending on your roll.

I've no PVP expert, but I have used it a fair amount in PVP as well. Keep Away / Kill Clip is a classic combo, and as long as you can fairly consistently click heads it'll do well for you. I've also used keep away / hatchling to funny effects.

Great gun, had to come on here just to give it a good review.

Keep away + hatchling is the best roll for overall activities, if you want a more pvp based one, just get kill clip and you golden. If you love 120 and strand this is a solid hand cannon for you

Got a Golden Tricorn/Subsistence/Extended Mag roll, which should be pretty solid... but it has a reload speed of 2. As in, the number just after one. It may be the slowest reload of any weapon I've experienced since D1 Vanilla. I think an Envious Assassin roll would work a lot better; it could have up to 21 shots in the mag, and you could bypass the reload issue entirely.

Feels really good the only downside is the reload speed but if you pair it with solar hunter or ophidians on warlock it feels solid. If you weren't able to get the indigenous hammer and really want a good 120 hand cannon then this is definitely the one.

Round Robin in PvE is an absolute beast with the right perks and play style. Using a special-dominated or heavy-dominated loadout (e.g Ager's Secptre, Special GLs, Machine Guns, Swords, etc.), you can fall back on Round Robin with Envious and Hatchling or Envious with Golden Tricorn consistently and have a brace ready. My Round Robin can consistently have ~25-30 in the mag whenever I pull it out, and I've seen it go to the High 40's to the low 50's. Having a max impact Hand Cannon for such high damage without having to worry about issues such as the gun's naturally low Reload Speed have made the gun very fun to use in Mid-to-high level PVE.

Nanotech Tracer Rockets and Hatchling make this a very fun weapon for PVE. Running this on Hunter with the new decoy aspect and a Threadling fragment focused build feels really nice. Sometimes, the Threadling spawned by your weapon kill can trigger a second threadling from your fragment. It's a great handcannon for mid range add clear. I'd reccomend Keep away and Hatchling.

The base stats leave a lot to be desired, so Zen moment or Keep away are nice to offset those weaker bases. For PVP, Zen moment makes it stickier and Kill Clip is really hard to beat on aggressive frame hand cannons. I just wish the mag size was a liiiittle bigger.

If you can hit headshots this is probably one of the best handcannons in the game once you get kill clip and keep away. A nice 2 tap with kc procc'd

My main gun. I usually drift around a lot and don't stick to one gun, but I just kept coming back to Round Robin. I know it's probably not the best HC in pvp or pve but I still love it. (Lowkey wish it had more perk options but whatever I can't really ask for too much. My roll is Keep Away/Kill Clip)

Absolutely love this thing for PvP, it looks and feels exactly like Loud Lullaby which used to be my go to 120 for PvP but now that I FINALLY got this thing crafted with the roll I want it completely blows Loud Lullaby out of the water. Currently running fluted barrel, ricochet rounds, killing winds and kill clip with stability MW but there are other options which are arguably better but that's not what I'm running so deal with it :P
For PvE I haven't messed with it much since I wasn't trying to get it for PvE and I personally don't like the feel of 120's in a PvE environment.
TLDR: Get yourself one for PvP it is 100% worth the grind

I was finally able to craft this last night. Dedicating this one for PVP on Xbox/Controller. Struggling to decide if I take Ricochet Rounds for the additional stability or High Cail Rounds for Stagger/Knock back. Any thoughts here Guardians?
