TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks

It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.

Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.

TIP: Popularity Ranks

The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

« J'aimerais qu'on me laisse tranquille. »

Shayura hausse un sourcil provocateur. Faora lui rend son regard avec audace.

« Une amitié. »

Currently glaives are in a weird spot. Their killing power is somewhat poor, but their ability to bolster survivability is phenominal. This glaive tries to cash in on its poor killing power, poorly. TL;DR? Mediocre and not worth farming. If you need an Arc Glaive, Nezarec's Sin is consistently available this season at Banshee and can roll similarly.

In the first slot, it's the first glaive to be able to roll Auto-Loading holster and has Replenishing Aegis. For PvP, it has Impulse Amplifier. Auto-loading is great for swapping off to deal with stunning a champion or dealing damage to a boss, but Replenishing Aegis sort of takes that job considering you can passively reload ammo by using the shield, the most prominent thing about glaives. Impulse Amplifier is always a good choice in PvP, faster projective and a faster reload speed is always a +1.

For the second slot, it's the first glaive to roll Voltshot, the second to roll Swashbuckler, also having Unstoppable Force and Close to Melee. Voltshot deals 200% of the weapon's base damage, but considering how slow and how weak glaives are damage wise, Voltshot is unfortunately a waste. Swashbuckler is neat but the damage buff is not on the melee, only on damaging shots. This essentially makes it a melee first damage later glaive, which might be fine for easier PvE activities, but the damage buff is too risky and far too negligible for endgame content. Close to Melee is great for lower end content with a punch build and is serviceable in higher end content assuming you can keep yourself alive with other means like restoration, but is ultimately not the best choice. The tried and true unstoppable force takes the cake just off the basis that this weapon can actually pair nicely with it thanks to Replenishing Aegis, and is the first Arc glaive to roll with this combo (Greasy luck is solar but can roll the same combo). Your best bet is to let this stick to its guns and stay a defensive option, but it isn't powerful enough to farm out trials for.

PvE: Aux Reserves + Appended Mag + Replenishing Aegis + Unstoppable Force + Shield Duration MW

PvP: Ballistic Tuning + Accurized Rounds + Impulse Amplifier + Swashbuckler + Range MW

Unexpected Resurgence is in an odd spot. Its stats are best in class, and by a wide margin. Its perk pool is absurd and loaded with great perks. This Glaive doesn't even have a god roll, because there's just so many different perk combinations that work. Honestly, Unexpected Resurgence's biggest problem is that it's a Glaive. I'll proudly give this Glaive a full recommendation once Bungie works this weapon class out, but for now it's just too niche.

Also, there's 6 other Legendary Glaives in the game, and 4 of them are Craftable. You can get the exact roll you want on almost every other Glaive in Destiny, while Resurgence is locked behind grinding Trials for an indefinite amount of time. Sure, it's base stats are best in class, but almost every other Glaive can be easily turned into a 5/5 roll.

If you didn't get Albedo Wing during the dawning, this is the only Arc Glaive that can roll with Close to Melee, 1st column is mostly dog but Autoloading or Replenishing Aegis is fine. Don't know many arc glaive builds but if one ever does get big it'll probably use this.

Replenishing Aegis + Close to Melee it's an amazing combo for gambit.
Shot Swap + Rampage (or Voltshot) it's a very good roll for pve in general, too.
Tilting at Windmills + Impulse Amplifier it's a good option for PvP, maybe with Auto-Loading Holster as an alternative in the first column, but I'm not a huge fan of glaives in crucible.
Anyway, it's a versatile good glaive. Approved!

I’m seeing ‘just spend your time unlocking nezarecs whisper’ in here and this is objectively better than nezarecs whisper in every way. The voltshot/alacrity combo is nuts when soloing content. I run an impulse amplifier/frenzy roll in gambit and it is very successful also.

If you don’t like Glaives in the first place you probably won’t be farming the trials glaive for hours and if you do this is a good one.
