Finishing a reload within 5.3 seconds of a Weapon Kill grants Voltshot for 7 seconds.

While Voltshot is active, your next Weapon Hit consumes the buff and applies Jolt to the target.

It was like they took Trinity Ghoul and put it on a trait. Now imagine this on an SMG or an Auto Rifle.

Insanely good for ad clear. The damage it deals is massive, and considering all you need to do is reload after killing a target, I consider this a top-tier perk. Now, all I'm waiting for is this to go on a 600 RPM auto rifle. Zhalo Supercell will ride again, mark my words!

Amazing PvE perk, but absolutely not a PvP perk. Delivers a jolting shot after getting a kill and reloading, which lingers and goes off as the jolted enemy takes damage. This chains to nearby enemies as well as doing extra damage to the initial target, making it an extremely versatile perk that's good for both add clear and larger targets. Enemies that die to the chained jolt will activate on-kill perks like feeding frenzy's reload boost or grenade energy gains from demo, but I believe it's only if they die to lightning emitted from a dying enemy. The ideal pairing with this perk would be a reload booster- feeding frenzy, perpetual motion, and threat detector all work well on most weapons, and posterity can roll voltshot/frenzy which would be great. On top of this I would recommend at least one, if not two arc loader mods on your arms, because to make this perk work well you absolutely NEED a quick reload. Also worth noting, jolts will NOT stack from multiple applications, unlike scorch and slow.

Different weapon types will have different multipliers on their jolts so some will get more damage than others. Obviously has arc subclass synergy with the right aspects and fragments, but it works the same on any subclass as arc 3.0 has no means of enhancing jolt damage or extending the duration. Pairs exceptionally well with witherhoard, or maybe necrotic grip. Brigand's law and the ikelos smg both roll with voltshot and are awesome weapons. Probably my favorite legendary perk in the game right next to chill clip (:

If we ever get a 600 or 720 RPM Auto Rifle that can roll this with either Subsistence or Unrelenting we'll be able to make a poor mans Zhalo Supercell. C'monnnnn bungie. DO THE THING

Not really, as voltshot requires targets to be close together and has a pretty short timer compared to tresspassers’ buff. This definitely negs it in pve for groups of enemies but not in pvp

The chain distance is insanely long and even if you are only applying it to one enemy, it is still a massive damage boost. It doesn't need to chain to deal damage to the main target.
