Saltimbanque radieux
Ylaia a l'esprit vif.
1/10 bungie made this useless for everything except just sheer memes
Now? There's almost no reason to use these boots. It doesn't have a lot of purposes anymore, as dodging 3 times around an enemy doesn't stop them from tracking you with their punches.
You can't even freeze people anymore from dodging around them enough, which makes a gimmicky and fun strategy to be gone.
There is no longer a point to use these, even for fun.
You see, Radiant Dance Machines WORKS with the new Strand aspect Ensnaring Slam, meaning you can suspend a group of enemies thrice in a row. There's not much else I can say for this, it's absolutely nuts to suspend entire rooms with this exotic and that aspect. Do keep in mind that you have to still do a regular dodge to trigger Multi-Dodge. Either way, I'm happy to put these on again. Plus, the color goes well with Strand too!
SEASON OF THE DEEP UPDATE:
At the start of this season, RDM got a little rework like a lot of other exotics. For RDM it's:
-Ensnaring Slam immediately stops Multi-Dodge
-Kills during Multi-Dodge extend its duration (by ~4 seconds)
-You no longer need to be close to enemies to keep Multi-Dodge active
Of course, the synergy with Ensnaring Slam is now gone, but despite that, it still has great (Strand) synergy. With about two kills you can already reach the maximum Multi-Dodge timer of 10 seconds. This duration alone has a lot of potential. For one, you can easily use RDM with Marksman Dodge when you run Fourth Horseman or other heavies with a low mag size (e.g rocket launchers). Otherwise, it's great with Gambler's Dodge to spam Threaded Spikes everywhere, which got a buff in the same update. You can also use Impact Induction with this to get your grenade back ASAP aswell. Ideally this grenade in question is a Shackle Grenade to make enemies harmless and Multi-Dodges safer to perform.
Needless to say, this can more or less create a ability spam loop like Young Ahamkara's Spine does. And as you might know, YAS is seen as the (pre-nerf) Starfire Protocol for Hunters. So yeah, RDM got a great comeback. But if you're not using Fourth Horseman or rockets for boss damage, I'd suggest to still stick to Star-Eaters or Shards of Galanor.
After the recent rework to these pants they went from arguably the Hunter's 2nd worst Exotic -> top 3.
These legs on especially Stasis and Strand is something to behold especially Stasis.
Easily a must have exotic for Hunters now 5/5
impossible
Personally tried out the dart spam build on Strand Hunter and it feels phenomenal up to legend difficulty content, and now I'm considering coming up with a fun ignition spam build involving Gambler's Dodge, Skyburner's Oath, and the Weighted Throwing Knife.
I'm wondering how long until Bungie decides to kick this thing down a notch, but until then we can rejoice at the fact that we have more reason to unironically rock this thing in-game outside of our own fashion sense.
Not a PVP guy, dunno how it'll fare there.
