Fiebre del Croma

Datos a raudales.

Miró a Maurice.

"Me alegro".

Luego, sonrió a Maurice.

Sweet Baby Geebuz! I never thought I’d see the day when I thought it was time to retire my OG chroma rush! I have 28k+ kills on it. But I just scored 2 perfect rolls w/ subsistence/KT and one with subsistence/Rampage. The RNG gods were with me tonight. Both are great rolls. This thing is good in PVE and PvP. Definitely worth the farm!

A 720 auto rifle with Kinetic Tremors is all I've been wanting since forever. And it's finally here, on a fan favourite reprised weapon with a very solid origin trait to boot.

Third column perks seem very PvP oriented, with the only standout one being subsistence. If you really wanted, or just can't land a subsistence/kt roll like me, dynamic sway reduction makes this thing a hipfire laser beam and could be a fun off meta choice.

Fourth column perks are very solid, frenzy is always a solid pick, and rampage/target lock could be useful for some play styles. Obviously, the standout perk here is kinetic tremors, taking 12 shots to activate, or 11 if enhanced. Because this thing is a 720 auto, those shots are going to be coming out quick, giving you some very frequent uptime on a very fun perk.

I initially tried this with my safe-but-uninteresting Heating Up + Rampage roll, and with the new origin trait it actually performs well as can be. Four days after my initial review (now deleted since we can't re-rate), Subsistence + KT absolutely kicks butt, and now I have to get rid of other kinetic tremor autos in my vault. Sigh. Subs + Rampage is no slouch either.

I started using that tame Heating + Rampage roll in pvp, which has decent recoil direction, and the weapon itself feels surprisingly good (I usually use Precision Frames autos in general, or exotic autos with faster RPM, if I use autos at all). I can't speak for perk performance but the weapon itself was better than I remembered (rampage is only good if the shooter is with the weapon; other perks actively help the weapon and thus its wielder). One to two years ago I had pulled out an old versatile roll of the previous Chroma and it was ok in pvp; I remember thinking that the weapon's kick and range prevented me from truly favouring it over others, but I guess the memory exaggerated that kick with time. I don't really vibe with KT or Frenzy in pvp though, but the other non-Rampage perks there are supremely solid for it based on experience with other autos. My gut tells me to hold off on rating this 5/5 for pvp rating, though.

Not sure if this page is bugged or not, but the theorycrafter recommended perks are all red for pvp. Some of those should be gold!

Edit on Dec 18th 2024: Nothing wrong with using a Killing Wind + Kill Clip or DSR + Kin Tremors rolls in PvP! BTW the crucible comp playlist AR from S24 rolled with KW on its curated copy, and I never bothered focusing a better roll. I overlooked KW on this weapon family for years, bc I was convinced that I HAD to pick something like DSR or a reload perk to support any damage perks for them.

Some people were upset last Episode that Steelfeather Repeater did not get reprised. Maybe. Maybe. But this is just as good.

Chroma Rush is really fantastic. 720 RPM with Kinetic Tremors? Check. Solid Origin Trait that buffs its Reload and Handling? Check. Pair with Subsistence? Check. Tap something once, reload, repeat that 3 times then start hosing them down, baby! Sure, this has other solid PvE picks, but come ooooon, you're here for Kinetic Tremors don't lie.

You're also probably here for Tremors for PvP, too! See, because the range of 720s is limited, you can secure kills from outside your roughly 30m range by proccing Tremors and securing the cleanup. Other options include Kill Clip and Target Lock, but honestly the ability to secure kills beyond my reach with Tremors is worth the few milliseconds slower TTK. For pairing, Dynamic Sway Reduction is probably your best bet - racks up to max very quickly, and much like Tremors doesn't require a kill to be effective. In fact it hits max effectiveness 2 shots before Tremors procs - 1 if enhanced. Killing Wind is also here as an option if you prefer on-kill effects.

Overall, this gun is a Rush of a reprise, a fantastic weapon in both sandboxes. Get one, and get Hi... Fi. *cough play HiFiRush cough*

Absolute Favorite Rapid Auto in the game. Even if it hadn't returned with Kenetic Tremors you can bet I would've been right there to farm a good one out. Still haven't gotten a God Roll yet, but I can hear it calling my name!

As of episode 2 (Revenant), this is the best legendary kinetic auto rifle in the game for PvE. Just because this can roll kinetic tremors and it's a 720 RPM. There are currently five kinetic tremors auto rifles, and ALL of them are 450's except chroma rush. It should be obvious, but you want faster fire rate frames with kinetic tremors because it activates the perk faster. God roll is subsistence + kinetic tremors. Nothing else really matters on the gun because the origin trait is extremely good so you will have high handling and reload speed nearly all the time. I would use backup mag for the mod because this will benefit both subsistence and kinetic tremors. Barrels and mags... Pick whatever you want. Doesn't matter cause the origin trait. Probably arrowhead break would be best cause the recoil is a 45. range/recoil are probably what you want to improve if you can. But seriously, just get sub + KT and you're golden.

Now, if you're reading this in the future... I'm going to guess a kinetic tremors auto rifle will come out at some point with a damage perk in a different column than KT. Like if we get a rampage + KT auto rifle from a raid, that would probably be the only way they power creep this gun. Until then, chroma rush is the kinetic auto rifle PvE king.

Your roll for 6's is gonna be Heating Up / Rampage. Your roll for 3's is gonna be Tunnel Vision / DSR & Kill Clip.
Both rolls have origin trait synergy.

aside from the fact that it's a good rifle, aside from the fact that it looks cool and aside from the fact that a 60 round mag with 720 rpm is nothing to sneeze at, i have ALWAYS loved the lore of this weapon, with the Eliksni visiting the ramen shop after they have moved into the city as well. Now that it has Kinetic Tremors i will say this is my favourite Auto Rifle.
