While the perk's buff isn't active, Weapon Kills grant 'Golden Tricorn x1' for 7 seconds, increasing weapon damage by 15%. Additional Kills refresh the buff duration.

While Golden Tricorn x1 or x2 is active:
Grenade or Elemental Melee Kills matching the element of the Weapon grant Golden Tricorn x2 for 10 seconds, increasing weapon damage by 50%.

For anyone wondering, the first buff activated from the guns kill is a 15% buff for 6 seconds, and the second have of the buff triggered from melee or grenade final blows is a 50% buff for 10 seconds. The only way to extend the buff is by getting another melee or grenade kill. This buff only stacks to x2, the kill activation then the ability kill

Nice long 7sec +15% dmg buff that refreshes itself on kill. That's good as-is but if your subclass matches the weapon damage type its downright beastly. Just get a kill with a charged melee or nade and you have +50% for 10sec! that's is the highest damage trait in game I believe.

If you have a Titan try using Retraced Path trace rifle from Dares of Eternity. Find one with Sustenance and Golden Tricorn. Use middle tree Sunbreaker. As long as you are able to pick it back up, you can use your throwing hammer to keep the +50% damage buff going indefinitely. Chuck on Melee Wellmaker with Font of Might and you can quite easily maintain another +25% damage. Add in Elemental charge to get 2 stacks of charged by the light every time you get a kill with your hammer and use them with High Energy Fire for another +25%. That's +100% (!!!) damage to a trace rife that already does exceptional damage, is so easy to use because its so stable, has good range and with Sustenance on a weapon that has 94 in the mag you very rarely need to reload. I recommend Heart of inmost light if you would like be God-like.

I feel like this isn't good for a rocket launcher, seems like too much setup, would rather have the consistency of explosive light in pve.

so close to being a viable dps option. it just needs to roll on an adaptive GL with envious or reconstruction and that's probably the best it will ever be

I’m debating on if I should enhance this perk or not. I’m not seeing any information on the length of the time to 50% dmg is improved… anyone have any first hand knowledge on this ? It’s not a super critical issue I have ascendant alloy , just curious

The 50% damage buff is not improved. Instead, the initial 15% damage buff (for 7 seconds) can be refreshed back to 8 seconds if you get another weapon kill (I assume the same weapon with tricorn on it) within the 7 second time frame.
Not worth it IMO
