TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks

It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.

Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.

TIP: Popularity Ranks

The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

"We are all connected. I admit this despite the few people I would rather not share a paracausal connection with. Some people. …Many people." —Osiris

"Osiris."

Strand weaves around Osiris's hands. It dims and brightens, casting green light onto the messy scatter of books and star charts spread across his desk and the surrounding six feet of floor.

"Osiris!"

"What?" Osiris lowers his hands.

Saint-14 is there, a solid wall of Exo in the doorway.

Saint crosses his arms. "You didn't answer my call."

"It is crucial that we learn how Ley Lines operate. I believe they share a connection with Strand, if only I can unlock it."

His handful of Strand extends in loops around him, spiraling towards the ceiling, turning the purple of Saint's ribbons to gray.

"I am reminded of Nimbus's tale of the river. Strand connects our minds. But what parts of us also touch Ley Lines?"

"I liked Nimbus in your stories," Saint interjects, mild. "We should visit them."

In a mood like this, a mild interjection can't stop Osiris. "Queen Mara's Techeuns can affect matter through Ley Lines. Their joined will pulls on threads woven through the Ascendant Plane. Two connected systems, the warp and weft of our universe's fabric—one, a spool of thread for this world, and another perhaps, for the Ascendant Plane?"

Osiris's Strand grows brighter, until Saint's massive hand engulfs his own. No master of Darkness, Saint takes control with a gleaming Void tether as the glow of Strand slowly fades.

"How long has it been since you've seen the sun?" Saint asks.

"I was experimenting with Solar Light just the other day. You know this."

"Not the same. Come. Stubbornness is unbecoming." Saint tugs gently at Osiris by their joined hands.

Osiris stops in his tracks and snorts. "If the question between us is that of hard-headedness—"

Ikora's going to give them a talking-to if Saint's laughter gets through the soundproofing to her office again. So, he persists: "It is late, and I have not seen you since you set your robe on fire. The work will wait."

Osiris lets himself be led out the door, the connection between them still glowing bright.

This is probably going to be the highest dps slug shotty when comboed with another slug and Dragon's breathe soley because it has cascade point and reconstruction.
When hitting two precision slug shots with your secondary slug you'll have cascade point ready. Cycle will probably be something like:
- Dragon's breath
- shoot two precision slugs shots to proc cascade point.
- switch to supercluster dump until cascade runs out.
- Dragon's breath
-repeat
(If you run out of Supercluster just swap and use the secondary slug)

I am not a Slug Shotgun user. But I imagine this is pretty appealing to those who do use them.

For PvE, Reconstruction, Slice, Fourth Times the Charm, Threat Detector, Slideshot, Lead from Gold, heck you could even find a use case for Loose Change. For Column 4 Vorpal, Hatchling, Surrounded and Cascade Point are all good. In a double Slug loadout, hitting two precision shots with the other shotgun will proc Cascade Point, unless you would rather Vorpals guaranteed 15% or Surroundeds more finicky 40%. It probably loses to Heritage in terms of viability, but thats a raid weapon and this is a Seasonal weapon - given its easier acquisition method, thats probably a fair trade.

For PvP, this certainly has options. Threat Detector is always good for Shotguns, and Slideshot offers that hefty range boost. Column 4 has Vorpal for challenging supers and Fragile Focus for bonus range while not critically wounded. However you only realistically need one of Slideshot and Fragile Focus to cap range, especially if you pair Accurized Rounds with any sort of Range-increasing Barrel.

Overall, the first Strand Slug shotgun is a very good one. Slug shotgun fans rejoice.

Looks like this is gonna be a really good option for strand users in PVE.
In first column you have great perks like reconstruction, fourth times the charm, and lead from gold. There is also a lot of potential in Slice and Loose change here for strand builds.
In 2nd column you have two solid damage perks for this gun, Surrounded or Cascade Point. If you want to gun full strand however, you have hatchling.
The gameplan here imo is to go Reconstruction/Surrounded or Lead-from-gold/Surrounded for general play, and Slice/Hatchling for a Strand Build.

As for PvP there doesn't seem to be a reason to use this over other slugs.
