What a weird 140. I’m going to be comparing this to Fatebringer as that’s its main in-slot competitor.
When you look at the stats, Fatebringer beats it easily. This does have better airborne accuracy, but that’s about it. Really the only reason I’d see you going for this is if you needed the perks it offers for a build.

Make no mistake, this is a PvE Hand Cannon first. Triple Tap, Outlaw, and Steady Hands can compliment the gun for whatever you need, and you have things such as Focused Fury, Vorpal, Rampage, and Wellspring to keep you going. Timed Payload also works. You’ve also got the origin traits, but Hand Cannons are not a champ mod this season, so you may have to wait a bit to see it in action.

PvP heads, I don’t think this is gonna wow you. Vanguard’s Vindication is nice but it’s not gonna help you too much. I’m interested to see the Fragile Focus/Opening Shot interaction but aside from that nothing really leaps out to me. Maybe Timed Payload if you’re into that? Or a Vorpal hotswap if supers are on the field? I dunno man. It’ll still be good by nature of it being a 140 hand cannon, I just think there are better general options. This is more a hand cannon you use to complete a build rather than building around the hand cannon.

Of course, remember that stats on paper only mean half the battle, the rest is the “gun feel good” factor. If D.F.A. speaks to you and Fatebringer, Austringer, and/or Eyasluna doesn’t? Go nuts.

I wanted to formulate my own review on this weapon, but this is pretty much on point. +1
Sums it up quite well. Additionally, Austringer is craftable and Fatebringer can be timelost. So comparably the earlier is missing adept mods and the latter can not be crafted and is, arguably, harder to obtain. Additional points that should be kept in mind.

Great gun but my roll of Outlaw + Timed Payload leads to a lot of frustration since the explosions meme me out of fast reloads.

A hidden huge W is a timed payload+stunning recovery because of how it works with overload hand cannon

Never got a chance to try it before it was sun set, but on my first run i got a drop. The model and the recoil are some of the best, it feels like it resets perfectly for your next shot. I really enjoyed the feel of it in pve that I decided to bring it into pvp.
Not the best range on my roll, but i was able to get some nice kills and used TP to get someone from behind cover. But i can't really recommend grinding this for pvp.
There are much better options in that slot .

Great PvP handcannon if you liked the good ol' dire promise feel. The 88 usual recoil isn't bad as its frame is thin, preventing obstruction of view when aiming down sights and hard to align when recoil kicks in. Timed payload although is the go to here as it increases rang artificially and therefore give aim assist a bit more stickiness as aztecross said in one of his vids, I quote "Feel like opening shot on every shot," can't argue with that. I use it and it feels like constant opening shot... The only problem i have is the low range and lower then average stats compared to most 140's. This although is made up for sheerily being one of the only easier to get handcannons with timed payload, which also makes you opponent flinch harder then hitting them with explosive payload, this stacks with its sleek frame too.

The desired perks for pve are perpetual motion, outlaw, wellspring, vorpal, rampage, and timed payload. Seeing as how the trait is centered around champion stuns I would say vorpal Perpetual motion if your going that route, for just basic ad clear I'd say go with the tried and true outlaw rampage and slay (if you want an ability steroid then use wellspring if you want).

PvP I would say there is only perpetual motion (steady hands just being worse compared to it) and Timed payload (better then opening shot by far). For barrel perks I would avoid fullbore and extended barrel as this handcannon already has low stats and doesn't need anymore taken away. The optimal roll by far for pvp is hammer-forged rifling, accurized rounds, perpetual motion (Nothing else in perk slot is better), and Timed payload. Any other options besides these perk wise for pvp are just centered around purely advantage state gameplay not neutral, the only exception being opening shot... but I already described why you shouldn't use that. Safe farming!

Edit: it's does a have a low magazine size along with it's low stats, but this can be easily fixed with a backup mag mod.

Use Fatebringer in PVE, use Austringer in PVP. Saved you some time.
