TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks
It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.
Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.
TIP: Popularity Ranks
The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

"Luna is in danger." —SOC5 Team Leader
ACSENDANT ANCHOR-LOCK-LL-Origin
SOC5: Encrypted Thread: Outgoing…
REPORT ISSUED DIRECT: DC-Q: Actual
FW: EMB-COPY-LINK: COALITION; VG; EligosLex-V
Special Outfit Five and Techeun Ylaia at Beacon 1. Anchorage established in the Ascendant Plane. Ylaia is finding a way through the Ley Lines. Threat assessment of Hive forces within Sol's Ascendant borders in progress. Will continue realignment to this thread for correspondence…
REALIGNMENT-LOCK-LL-Shore
SOC5: Encrypted Thread: Outgoing…
Special Outfit Five has reached Beacon 2. Patrol reports 11 Hive sightings: 1 Wizard, 10 Knights. Not scavenging Thrall or Acolyte delvers. They're establishing a perimeter on our borders, but we slipped through. Ylaia says the Plane is degrading again. We're getting closer to a corruptive presence. Her ward is holding, and we've gone undetected. Team is dark for six.

SOC5: Encrypted Thread: Outgoing…
Beacon 3 is compromised! They brought in a Shrieker over us, blaring some horrid noise. Ylaia's ward kept it from pinpointing us, but it knew we were there. Two Corsairs injured in contact—Hive pursuing—thread falling out of beacon range. Expect late realignment—
REALIGNMENT-LOCK-LL-Luna
SOC5: Encrypted Thread: Outgoing…
Special Outfit Five reporting. The landscape distorted into a climb to Beacon 4. Ylaia bridged a connection to send our injured home. I worried it would draw attention, but planar activity in the vicinity is so turbulent that it was more like shouting into the wind.
Forward patrol notes an interior perimeter upwards of 70 Shriekers, dozens of cryptoliths, and incoming battle caravans numbering tens of thousands. My queen… Wizards conjure the Black Terrace. Xivu Arath's voice bends the Plane.
The War-god is calling an army to her banner.
Luna is in danger.
2 ways to go in my opinion:
- Speed bow: Tempo/Rapid Hit + Successful Warmup. Same concept as Fel Terradiddle.
- AoE Ad-Clear: Dragonfly + Frenzy/Swash. Damage perk + Dragonfly feels great especially after the Dragonfly buffs. Frenzy is a little weaker, but the reload bonus helps reduce your effective draw time.
It’s basically a knockoff Arsenic Bite. Also good to note that the boost from Ambush helps the gun feel a lot better in PvP than most lightweights, but accuracy is still an issue on 2nd shot.
It is the best PvP lightweight bow in the game, however it’s being held back by the fact that it is a lightweight. If lightweights ever get buffed, go craft this for PvP. It has all of the best perks in the game for PvP and BOTH of its origin traits are extremely strong. Veist stinger decreases draw time for 5 seconds with a 10% chance to activate on bows which is doubled if you have explosive head. On the other hand, people don’t know this about ambush but it decreases draw time as well due to its 0.85x draw time multiplier which is even faster with the legacy ambush origin trait. This is the fastest firing bow in the game and although lightweights are absolutely terrible in the crucible, I think this can be justified. I’m not rating it 5 stars because it’s a lightweight but if a buff comes around (which should happen) then expect this to be a 5 star bow.
In PvE it also has basically anything you could ever ask for except again, it’s a lightweight. I’d go archers explosive with veist stinger so that you have an extremely fast fire rate. This is also the best lightweight in PvE because it has solid enhanced perks WITH those two origin traits which are both S tier on bows.
Whistlers does not have explosive head and also not really any good 3rd column perks that create good synergy between those and the 4th column perks.
i'd *maybe* argue that rangefinder could be worth it, but the velocity increase is a joke between rangefinder and impulse amplifier. Yes, neither of these bows have impulse amp, but tripwire has better perk combinations with explosive head.
You can run dragonfly (Momentum control maybe lol), Archers Tempo, sneak bow or rapid hit. (I wouldn't recommend running Slickdraw since.. well its a lightweight, already has bad aim assist)
I suppose if you're saying 'available' as in easily found, the Point of the Stag still stands to one degree. It's just expensive. Arsenic still rolls occasionally otherwise-but it's buried in the loot pool to a significant degree.
