Salvation's Grip

"I respect what I cannot steal from and you cannot take from the dark." —Excerpt from an old Eliksni salvage manifest

[in winding Eliksni script:] This power bestowed by the Dark was given first to the Eliksni—not to the machine-children, who are unlucky second-borns, unstoried and short in their memories. Just as the Great Machine touched the Eliksni first, so too does the Dark—though where the Great Machine's touch was fleeting, the Dark lingers.

[a scribbled note:] the cold Dark is an ENDLESS lingering

[in winding Eliksni script:] Encased in the cold Dark, you cease to be a flesh-and-blood thing but become a memory thing, a thing of stillness. To have memory is to be storied and to be storied is to be worthy, yes, but to be still is to be dead. We have not been still since the Long Drift, and we will never be still again.

[scratched hard into the page:] stillness is more than weakness, it is NOTHINGNESS

[in winding Eliksni script:] Instead, we will make still and dead the things that seek to scratch out our memories, so they themselves will be dead-memories. We will mark this place as the Great Machine marked our home, and our story will be told in the scars we leave on this world.

—Notes on Stasis, or "the cold Dark," attr. to Kridis, trans. from Eliksni by Eris Morn

Don't let the more negative reviews fool you: this gun is amazing just not in the way Destiny guns usually are.

Salvations Grip is a third ability. Once you unlock more of the stasis subclass perks it becomes much much better. You'll have your abilities and passives up constantly with a half decent build in PvP. You lack a bit of boss damage but that's the only bad part.

Don't bother in PvP. Could be fun for the laughs, but you'll be better off with a half decent blue.

Potentially the most complex Exotic in the game, because it seems to interact with ALL Aspects and Fragments. Never seen an Exotic interact with class features to this degree before. With the right build this has the potential to be a hugely efficient and powerful Exotic Heavy... but only in such a build. Just as-is, it struggles in comparison to its Heavy Exotic brethren such as Xenophage and Anarchy.

Salvations Grip is great for what it is. A Stasis Grenade Launcher that freezes enemies upon impact, and its hipfire laser makes it surprisingly great at long ranges.

Enemies can be somewhat easily frozen in PVE, but you're probably better off just using abilities.

Can't say much about how it feels in PvP yet, but post-season 21 rework in PvE this thing feels amazing. It spawns roughly 7 crystals in a spread, which makes it a perfect weapon to run with Behemoth if you don't feel like running Verglas Curve. If you hated this weapon at any point between Beyond Light and Season of the Deep, PLEASE give it another shot.

This gun has never been more fun. With the rework this baby can hit hard now. I have fallen in love with this goofy weapon for a few seasons now. Even before the buff I've used this weapon in a lot of stasis builds just because it's so much fun to use. Now that I can die to my own uncharged shots, dying has never felt this much fun. I will proudly wield this gun because heehee crystal funny. I feel like Mr. White with how many crystals I be cooking up. Use this gun and confuse everyone around you.

In all seriousness, this gun is so much fun to use and I recommend people give it a (fully charged) shot. I've gotten a single PvP kill with this thing and it feels amazing. Not the best in PvP but the sheer adrenaline and dopamine of murdering someone with this goofy weapon is hilarious

This gun is just a fun time I PvE. It's the kind of weapon you do challenge runs of strikes or raids and can kind of be used to make a makeshift barrier. Don't like it in PVP.

VERY Mediocre. Used to unlock a few abilities for stasis, but I can't come to find myself using this over something like anarchy. In the crucible, the charge time hinders it, making it pretty much useless compared to just the grenades. Plus, it takes up an exotic slot. You're better off with something like an ace of spades, thorn, or even xenophage.

This gun is EXTREMELY fun in PVE. Just insta-freezes anything it hits; it's like the stasis icewall grenade in a heavy grenade launcher. Definitely worth the grind it requires. However, it's outclassed in PVP; it's not worth using in the Crucible unless you can get your hands on a shitton of heavy, and it takes up the exotic slot. You'd be better off just using the icewall nades to freeze people.

It's very fun to mess around with. Can use it to make ladders. Freezes what it hits for easy shatters. Not amazing for general use but it's fun, and that's what matters, right?

Catalyst to give it an alt fire to shatter would be amazing.

In general, this gun is “eh”. It’s damage isn’t very good on its own, and the area it covers isn’t that large. It’s fun to freeze some fools, but against bosses it isn’t even that good, since they never get frozen.

I feel like i speak for everybody when i say that this funny gun needs double the ammo reserves, since you need to fire twice to use it how it's meant to be used unless you're relying on outside shattering means for example, shatterdive, cryoclasm and the shadebinder super right click, in which case, very based.

DEFINITELY improved from launch and it's worth giving a try now, hopefully the catalyst includes deeper pockets and some other amazing gimmick to help lift it up into not being a joke (respectfully)

Easily the most underrated exotic in the game. It's benefitted from a rework, general Stasis improvements, and the heavy GL reserves buff. Add on top of that the Rimestealer catalyst added in Episode Revenant, and it's a real force. Great add clear, great CC, and one of the higher DPS heavy weapons in the game, assuming the fight allows for it.

Still pretty ass in PVP though.

If you have it, just try this out on a stasis titan with cryoclasm. You are going to freeze and then shatter literally every add you can see. Just be careful and get the timing down for the charged shot, I've killed myself with it thinking i had fully charged a shot multiple times. Once you get that timing down though, it is an amazing meme weapon that also functions extremely well.

For PvE it's an interesting, alternate choice if you are a stasis fan and want to bring your ability synergies to the next level, basically an extra means of freezing enemies, making stasis crystals and generating stasis shards on demand. The crystals themselves can also be used as platforms if you're into going where the game doesn't want you to go...

For PvP you're basically throwing your heavy slot in the bin. I tried using it but even if you manage to hit someone, they won't be frozen for any meaningful amount of time for you to follow up with anything.

This thing could have been good if it encased a much larger area and/or did some actual damage itself instead of having to after shoot/melee. As is, its pretty much useless.

Now that Verglas Curve exists, there's almost no reason to bother with this. Why spend your heavy and exotic slots on a gun that doesn't do much damage, when you could equip a kinetic exotic bow that chain freezes and creates crystals constantly?

Apparently got a new catalyst with Rimestealer.
Looks to be amazing this season.

It's like a glacier grenade launcher it is fun to use needs a bit of a buff but I don't know if it is worth your exotic or heavy slot for that matter.

Good for getting places, freezing enemies, making cover, or using it for quests. Not much boss damage but a good tool to have.

You can scale walls and make LW and GoS chests way easier on top of all the Stasis synergies it provides in PvE, nuff said

honestly its the charge up requirement that ruins this gun, makes it feel to slow and clunky, in a bad way(non thematic way like leviathans breath), the damage might not be good, but it would be really fun and effect to spray a few crystals and then detonate them all,

not to mention with season 15, but more so season 16, the expansion of stasis weapons perks and tweaks has really pushed this weapon out of the way,

Stasis ability but in a gun. You better have a dps special with this though, because its great at ad control with aspects and fragments, but deals less than primary levels of damage. Pvp its hilarious to freeze someone but exploding someone is probably better instead. Also can use this to skip jumping puzzles and climb environments, and best of all, kill teammates on elevators.
