Trespasser

"You are not welcome."

"It kills me to say it, but I really am impressed," the voice says, an echo reverberating from the past.

Ikora does her best to keep focused, to push past a breath of resurging anguish. But a Nightmare like this… refuses to be so easily ignored. It stands at her side, wearing her friend's face, horn and all; the ribboned edges of its cloak swaying beside the hand cannon holstered at its hip. It speaks with his voice, but its words are false and dripping with poison.

She forces herself forward, climbing the steps to the Leviathan's entrance.

"Walking in uninvited is usually my whole thing," it continues as it floats beside her. "Unless… you've started taking after me?"

"You are nothing more than a memory," Ikora replies without looking at it. "You are not him."

"Can't argue with that logic," it says, flashing a smile. "After all, he's dead."

Ikora flinches as the Nightmare circles around, hovering just over her shoulder. "Thanks to Zavala. You. And most of all… thanks to Uldren Sov."

Ikora's brow furrows and she clenches her fists, continuing her ascent.

"He shot me with my own gun," the Nightmare presses. "Do you remember that?"

Ikora picks up her pace. Still, the Nightmare follows.

"I mean, you must, right?" it asks. "What was it you promised to do? Mount his head on his precious throne? That was some real big talk, Ikora. But instead of doing that—instead, you welcomed that scumbag to the Tower. With open arms! So, I'm thinking, either your memories are a little mixed up… or maybe you really have forgotten what that murderer did to me."

"Crow is not Uldren!" Ikora seethes.

The Nightmare smirks. "Right. Just like I'm not Cayde."

Ikora spins on her heel, chest heaving, Void Light flaring in her fists and deep within her eyes.

But there is nothing behind her. Only the emptiness of space.

"Ikora," Eris's voice crackles over the comms, "perhaps… it would be best for you to return."

Ikora breathes deeply, palms flat at her sides; she gives the Leviathan's doors one long, final look before turning back.

Don’t listen to any of the bad things people say about this gun (I’m definitely not biased because this definitely wasn’t my favorite gun in D1 and I still love it)

PVE: this thing is like if Huckleberry and trinity ghoul had a child. You will be spewing out massive bursts of lighting which if you get a kill, auto reload and grant more lighting. This was unfortunately not effective for endgame pve due to how it did barely too little damage, however with the 20% buff it can now be a monster in endgame pve too! You just aim, get a kill with 1 tap and continue doing that, and this thing can also of pretty decent major damage due to the burst! 9/10 only issue is a range, but the super burst does increase that.

PvP: A Tier, it’s really lethal in PvP due to its burst but requires a surge mod to 1 burst (in theory), however with tunnel vision and it’s stats it’s quite the exceptional sidearm. Get a kill and for 10 seconds become a reaper.

PvX: any S tier ad clear is useful for PvX (PvEvP) And with its decent major damage it makes it absolutely fantastic.

11/12 exotic, I’m 100% unbiased. My only hope is to someday get back my crucible assassin ornament (that ornament is just way to clean looking on this gun)

In all honesty I find this gun a bit underwhelming, but I think part of that is made up for by how cool it is. The extended burst is certainly powerful, and it feels really satisfying to chain it from enemy to enemy. But I don't think the fact that this gun has a "fail condition" makes up for the benefit from the upgraded bursts. Most primaries with an "infinite ammo + buff" gimmick allow you to just fire and forget (Bad Juju, Huckleberry, Osteo Striga, etc) and accidentally not killing an enemy in time just forces you to reload normally or lose out on a bit of damage. Trespasser is a mediocre sidearm until you get Unrepentant, and losing Unrepentant forces you to kill an enemy with the regular burst mode, and then reload, to get it's exotic perk back. Since it can't one-shot a lot of tankier enemies even with the upgraded burst, I end up just using it to kill red bars... which I feel like I could do easier with a lot of other guns. People being able to "kill steal" you and make your streak end makes this also frustrating to use in groups. This is even worse in PVP, where the Trespasser already struggles to begin with. An Unrepentant burst can deal a lot of damage to a guardian... if you have one ready, manage to reload in time, hit headshots, and are within it's measly 39 range.

All in all it's a cool gun and feels satisfying to use, but it's negatives outweigh the benefits leading to it being outperformed incredibly easily.

Great if you can hit your shots, dependable in pve and shreds in pvp if you are skilled

Neither earth-shatteringly good, nor horribly bad, the trespasser feels fun to use, and rewards kills with basically constant burst-fire, provided the target can be killed with the superbursts. I'd describe it being a fun weapon to run with regular content, but I would heavily advise against taking it to something like a grandmaster or the like, as there are many better weapons for dealing with content of that caliber.
Best used against armies of red-to-some-orange-bar enemies, avoid use against tough targets and more challenging content for best results.

Experience for this weapon is beast at PVP but kinda eeh on PVE because you need to keep chaining perks and you cant kill orange enemies just in 1 superburst that was waste
this weapon is good overall like high superburst damage and kinda unlimited ammo (if you good at chain reaction aim) shredding red bar health enemies so easily but really trash on orange bar enemies, champion, and bosses

in PVP is kinda same but you need decent skill to try not wasting superburst perks

Yeah talking about this thing catalyst to get it you should not touching grass for some times, completing 200 games is so long for me for example 1 vanguard game took longest 15 minutes
15 minutes x 200 games = 3000 minutes that mean you need spend 50 hour total to get 1 catalyst

really good in PVE and PVP but I feel that Final Warning has kind of crept this thing out of the game in PVE. still a great sidearm.

It exists, I suppose. It's definitely not BAD at what it does, and I can see the way bungie wanted this thing to be used, but it suffers from having to jump through too many hoops for a mediocre reward. This isn't about powercreep either, this thing was already outclassed when it first released, and that's just because the way it's designed doesn't fit well in the current sandbox. Yes, you can get the cool superburst, but to get it, you first have to score kills with a pretty unimpressive sidearm, and if you can't keep chaining kills, you lose the superburst and have to keep using said sidearm. The problem is, the superbursts don't scale very well, so in most mid-high levels of play, the superburst won't be able to kill powerful enemies, so you'll be stuck firing at weak red bars to clear them, and at that point, there are MANY other options to more easily and effectively clear out weaker enemies. And then, this was released before the existence of the Arc rework, so there's no synergy to the reworked Arc subclasses on this Arc element gun to save it from mediorcrity. As for PVP, the range is abysmal and superburst kills will almost never happen, so not much to write home about either side of the game.

I do not not know how well it does in raids, but this gun is delicious. I love the way it feels and shoots, burst pistols have always been some of my favorite weapons and this just hits the spot. I have found it working well for both pve and and pvp, but i think some guns may still be better for what it does in pve

Things cracked in lower end pve. Great ad clear potential in normal raids, legend nightfalls, etc. With season of the deep catering more to arc, there's a lot of potential here

Great for PVP, can absolutely destroy. Not great for PVE, hard to kill with it, but the six-shot burst can chain quite a few kills together.

D2's Trespasser is the embodiment of a word "Disappointment'. In almost every term, it falls short compared to it's original Rise of Iron variation.
In PvP, where Trespasser shined before, it feels like the worst sidearm in the game. The high impact stat is being completely negated by a hilarious damage drop-off, so now it's effective basically only in a melee to short ranges of combat. The lack of the Relentless Tracker perk also does not help at all as it removes one of the core playstyles of Trespasser from the original: you just don't know where should you go or hide to get an other frag.
In PvE, Trespasser is preforming okay because of the Unrepentant perk being reset if you get a kill while it's active. Still, there are a lot of other weapons that can handle the low-tier enemies even more effective, and some of them are not even exotic (i.e., Scouts with a Dragonfly perk).
Catalyst is not helping at all. In PvP, the buffs are very minor, in PvE they're just not needed.
In it's current state, Trespasser is just a memento of it's former glory. Don't waste your Exotic slot for it.
