180 enjoyers rise up! Trust me when I say this puts my Survivors Epitaph and my Vulpecula to shame. Frontier's Cry feels like it performs 5-7 meters deeper than even the best rolled alternatives. And I don't even have a good roll yet. Now we all know this gun has to compete with options like Palindrome. If you prefer the stronger 140 rpm cousins, you're in luck as there are at least 2 new hand cannons for you to chase this season. But if you're a controller player like me and prefer 180 rpms for their extreme accuracy and stability, give this thing a shot. Pair it with your favorite kinetic special and go slay. You'll be surprised how often you can go toe to toe with meta options like Fatebringer, Thorn, etc. Right now I have a stats for all/ eye of the storm roll from hoarding iron engrams and I can't wait to get one with Kill clip or Iron reach.
Something about the shape looks silly though, like the barrel is sagging or something..

180 RPM Hand Cannon? Check.

Solar damage? Check.

Able to roll Dragonfly/Rampage? ...Nope. RIP to my old Trust. Still, you can't really go wrong with Stats For All/One For All these days, not to mention being (to the best of my knowledge) the only gun rolling Adaptive Munitions in column 3. If you like 180s, check it out.

Full Bore/Steady Rounds/Rapid Hit/Iron Grip
Certainly not bad in PVP, the Origin Perk makes this a pretty good option over other 180 classics like Posterity and Epitaph. Stability-wise, it's pretty good. 180's generally don't suffer from stability issues so you're free to go for stuff like Iron Reach or maybe EotS if you're feeling spicy.
PVE-wise, meh? Adaptive Munitions is good for doing chip damage in Match Game activities and Kill Clip is always fantastic, but I'd say you're better off using a 140 like Crisis Inverted.
180's are, as of now, not quite as good as their other archetypal cousins, but don't overlook this gun, it might just surprise you.
(And before you "draw me as the soyjak", I got the gun early from hoarding Iron Banner bounties.)

Controller PVP review

With the right roll this thing will give you brief flashbacks to Not Forgotten when it was a 180. I've been using one with Extended, Accurized, Tunnel Vision and Kill Clip with a range masterwork and it does some serious damage. Getting Kill Clip going will allow for lightning fast 3 taps, and if you time your reloads properly you can chain them together. Rapid Hit would obviously synergize very well with Kill Clip too.

Higher average base stats than other 180s. With the above roll, it can compete at pretty good range for a 180, thrives on mid-range maps. Lots of stability on precision frames so you could go for Iron Reach if that's your thing. Given the archetype, Icarus is unnecessary so feel free to go with a targeting mod or whatever else.

Small perk pool is great, makes farming a lot easier (I got the one I wanted on the first day of IB).

For anyone that is stuck on 120s and 140s, I'd urge you to give this a try if you get an interesting roll.

Wow. Just just just WOW. My Stats for all/Adagio God Roll(to me coming from Destiny 1 Palindrome killclip/rangefinder rolls) is rated an F on this lovely site by peer popularity. But I have easily gotten 3-5-8+ kill streaks walking around PVP and Iron Banner with this Roll. I've even gotten messages saying that I'm cheating. Hilarious but it makes sense when you walk around 3 tapping fireteams into oblivion after that first initial kill giving 7 seconds of Adagio. I'm a big fan of hand cannons and won't use much else. So having a lovely hand cannon that I fell in love with and(which brought me back to Destiny 2 since before Forsaken), this game is my daily constant again.

Sadly, I have an S rated Frontier's Cry, but I don't use it all that much. It isn't as fun or satisfying as proccing Adagio and walking through fusion rifle/Shotgun Melee guardians. I'm all for the simpler days of a hand cannon being the only thing you needed when transmatting planetside for a story or for resources.

Thank you for enjoying the Frontier's Cry with me.

I got a rapid hit, Iron reach roll with fluted and accurized rounds from a save bounty last season.. Been waiting for IB to test it out with my Riiswalker. Is it going to three tap? No. Will it hit ranges that most 180s don't? Yes lol. It even out ranges good ol' Not Forgotten.

If you like 180's, this is a nice weapon but even with meta perks, it doesn't rise into the meta imo but is fun to use in 6v6. I think it is slightly overrated in pvp, but underrated in pve. One for all and rapid hit on this thing or stats for all makes this one of the best pve handcannons imo.

I got tunnel vision, eye of the storm and a range mw. So far I've been having great fun with it. I'd like to try out some different rolls when IB rolls around, but yeah. A solid gun for sure.

I landed a beautiful Rapid Hit / Adagio roll and fell sleep in love with this 180 for PVP it lands easy 3 taps with Adagio and caught me by surprise how much I genuinely enjoy using Frontiers Cry, coming from someone who hasn’t enjoyed 180’s since Lunas How and/or Not Forgotten but when it comes to PVE I don’t really use 180’s at all in PVE unless I’m doing low level content so I wouldn’t recommend it but overall it’s a fun hand cannon to mess around with in PVE, but with the correct roll it will take you by surprise in PVP.

Rapid Hit/ Adagio
While it may not be the strongest handcannon in the game it feels great. 180 rpm makes it very forgiving and once you land the first kill it just snowballs. Adagio makes it a 3 tap and gives it an extended range so competes at longer ranges. It has a large amount of shots (13) so if you hit all precision shots with this roll you can kill 4 guardians before reloading. Feels good when you combine with some healing abilities like devour, healing rift, wormhusk, etc. Essentially Frontier's cry can be a super stable 140 rpm which is nice just dont expect to consistently outperform true 140s. As for PvE, gun go pew woah energy handcannon.

This big boy is a wonder. I've never been into 180s but this gun has a break action reload (my favorite kind) so I gave it a chance, and my GOD it did not disappoint. Solid as a rock, and I can throw on a full auto-mod and turn my brain off.

PVP
The 2 rolls I would recommend would either be Small Bore, Accurized, Rapid Hit, and Iron reach for a great range roll as Rapid hit negates most of the stability lost from Iron Reach. The second is the exact same but will Kill Clip for 3 tapping. I would steer away from Adagio as it provided a 30% damage buff vs Kill Clip's 33% (it ends up being only one point of damage difference, 79 with Adagio and 80 with Kill Clip but 80 is more satsifying) and Adiago's slowing down can be jarring. Adagio does provide a 7-second buff as well as 10 extra range, vs Kill Clips 5-seconds and no range, but Adiago messes with me too often. Very solid and reminds of me Trust.

PVE
The perk pool for PvE is very piss poor, unfortunately. The best roll would probably either be Stats for All & One for All, or Adaptive Munitions and One for All, but there are FAR better options out there for this slot, like Zaouli's Bane or Nations of Beasts.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I quite like this one, while it won't beat out my Timelost Fatebringer it's definitely a gun you should give a chance, and looks sus.

Rapid hit/Kill Clip with appended mag and your choice of really good barrel perk options.

Wow, I really don't know what not to say about this thing, it blows pretty much all other legendary 180s out of the water, and is the closest thing I've encountered in a 180 HC that feels as good as Malfeasance in PvP. It's extremely competitive, flinches hard in my testing, and falls off at competitive ranges against other HCs, while also having the ability to extend upwards of 19 rounds in the mag with high stability and recoil direction by default. Will 3 tap on procing kill clip, rapid hit extends the range into stupid territory where you can legitimately duel scouts, and you can almost push this into two tap territory with another damage buff.

Run Full Auto, Icarus, or Backup Mag depending on whatever flavor you desire in the mod slot, pair with either a good consistent long or short range kinetic primary, and go make meta abusers cry.

10/10 would 180 again :)

Very surprised by how well this gun performs especially with iron reach in PVP. 140 rpm stats in a 180 rpm body. My new favorite legendary hand canon.

Adagio on this actually isn’t half bad. Puts the TTK at about .8 seconds 2 crits 1 body, but the RoF change can be really disorienting. I would go so far as to put on a Full Auto Retrofit when using this perk combo to help with that.

I personally think that Frontier's Cry is a great hand cannon in the 180 selection. This hand cannon can reach 140 range but the issue is that its fires at 180 Damage numbers and TTK and its what really brings this weapon down. But I will not look at the weapon from the limit of its archetype. It is a solar 180 and it's going up against the now sunsetted Trust. Does it hold up besides missing explosive payload it does Adaptive munitions give this a reason to use in PvE. One for all makes this really good as well. I have a roll with Adagio it really brings the perk to match with the 140s. The 15% loss on RPM brings the 180 to a 150. Using Adagio you are basically using a 150 with the recoil of a 180. 58 to the head without Adagio. the 30% buff brings that 58 to a 75. I Personally think that Frontiers is a great 180 the only thing that's holding it back is the weapon Archetype. It's smooth it feels great but with the damage number your always going to be on the defensive hoping the enemy will miss or land a body. Adagio really brings it in line with 140s.

I really like it for PVP, even though I don't even have good rolls for it. It 4-3 taps with some good range on it and the 180 feels really powerful. For PvE it's decent as it has nice dps, but you can feel the small mag and long reload times.

I have a pretty great roll, so fortunate, this was like my only Frontier's Cry too.

Corckscrew, Accurized, Rapid Hit, Adagio and Range Masterwork...

This gun HITS in PvP. With Adagio and the 13 round magazine, you can easily 1v2 people and hold choke points. This gun hits so hard. It is becoming one of my favorite PvP hand cannons. I think it is a better PvP weapon than PVE just because of the nature of the weapon. I recommend this gun a lot. I hope it gets a reprised weapon. If not, I am so happy with this.
