Honestly, skip this one unless bungie buffs it, as it stands this might be the first time I have been actually completely disappointed by a weapon, I usually find a use for absolutely any weapon even the most mediocre ones like Jade Rabbit or Skyburner but damn I have literally no reason to recommend using this over the Legendary Enigma Glaive or possibly the Raid Glaive.
This effectively is a cheap version of Trinity Ghoul with an absolutely terrible AoE which costs 6 special ammo shots to even use, combine that with the fact that you need to actually hit those shots to charge, that you can't use your shield or you lose the charge for the special shot and the lack of any perk choices like Impulse amplifier and you got a recipe for an absolutely useless weapon in nearly all cases, just pick trinity over this one if you want to AoE chain lightning things to oblivion, I regret not going for the warlock version first for the quest reward, that one actually is somewhat useful... somewhat.

News: bungie buffed this glaive; it now does 3x as much damage and can chain to twice as many targets. Is the glaive good now? No. If you got glaive energy, no matter how small, from melees, then I genuinely think this glaive would be viable.

I can't believe I wasted hours and hours of grinding wellspring for this. if you manage to land all your hits and get kills you're lucky enough to waste 7 shots of special to replicate what dead messenger, salvo, trinity ghoul, or plug-1 can do in a single shot.

If trinity ghoul needed heavy ammo, even then it would be still better.

I kinda didn't mind "grinding" it (the drops are better now) because i wanted all the quests and triumphs anyway, but i agree its a lackluster rewards

It's been good since it's first set of buffs but the buffs that it has gotten in Season 23 has made this Glaive even stronger.

First thing is first. If you are using this Glaive you must dedicate 2 of your Chest Armor mods to Lucent Blade. Running 2x Lucent Blade gives you enough Glaive energy so 3 direct hits will fully charge your meter allowing you to use Lightning Seeker.

When Lightning Seeker is active you do not want to shoot it at the floor. You instead want to direct hit an enemy with it as doing so still activates the explosion while also giving you Glaive energy for that shot which does not occur when not getting a direct hit. This allows you to do a loop of [ Lightning Seeker Shot -> Shoot -> Shoot -> Repeat ]. Basically 1/3 of all shots fired will be Lightning Seeker shots which do great damage over a large area.

With no Reserve mods your reserves sit at 26 due to being a Rapid Fire Frame. Due to the buff making activating Lightning Seeker give you free ammo and the fact that 1/3 shots are Lightning Seeker shots you essentially are hitting almost 40 ammo with a full mag. It is one of the most ammo efficient special weapons in the game.

Triton Vice is worth considering for this Glaive as it makes use of all of its exotic effects better than any other Glaive. Of course you'll want to run an Arc subclass for the full effect. Flow State and Spark of Beacons pair very well with this Glaive especially with the addition of Jolt in the buff this season.

The Arc explosion Triton's Vice gives on kills helps with the Glaive's ammo economy by making it better for ad clear. Instead of wasting ammo for single target damage the AoE will conserve ammo by making kills splash some damage on nearby enemies weakening/killing them and saving you the ammo you would've used fighting them. Lightning Seeker explosions will also get a nice secondary burst of damage on kills it gets in the area for more damage.

The increased Reload and Melee damage is good for all glaives and this is no exception.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the +1 overflow per melee kill from Triton's, being able to overflow the mag starting with 15 rounds when Lightning Seeker is loaded makes you able to shoot the Glaive 22 times without reloading. I wish someone would test the DPS on this Glaive but just from a glance it seems pretty good for a Special weapon.

No comment on it for PvP. It does technically have a better ttk than other Glaives unless you start getting DR or overshields into the mix where it will require an extra shot. Lightning Seeker in PvP however does one shot some supers and the passive regen every second might help get it in slower rounds if you have it out between engagements so it has a use there.

All 3 exotic glaives were rightfully dumped on for how weak they shipped on launch. After their buffs though, I personally think this is not only a great exotic choice for ads and slightly beefier targets, but is also my favorite and the most powerful of the 3 exotic glaives.

The first (and I think only?) rapid fire glaive so far, it boasts larger reserves, larger mag, and a faster fire rate at the expense of less damage per shot. The exotic perk more than makes up for that, however. Basically Jolt before Jolt was a thing, the powered shot does huge initial damage and chains to roughly a dozen enemies. The main thing that holds the Edge glaives back though is their lack of synergy with the glaive melee.

These three stooges left a bad taste in everyone's mouth back at the launch of the Witch Queen, and most haven't even touched them or even heard of the buffs. They're still not for everyone, but pick these up one more time and try them out for a session or two. They just might surprise you.

With the new Arc 3.0 changes to Hunter this one feels really fun to use. Use the Fragment to slide over mags to reload instantly and you can simply keep on firing. Having a blast so far!

I'd wager for PvP this is still kinda weird and probably lackluster. It's a glaive after all. (But I also play very little PvP.)

I genuinely don't understand the hate for this weapon, maybe part of it is a lot of reviews being pre-buff. I put off grinding for this for ages due to it overwhelmingly being called "one of the worst exotic weapons", but when I finally got it I was kind of impressed by it's performance. Maybe it's my extremely low expectations.

It shoots pretty fast, the arc blast deals surprisingly high damage, has relatively high ammo capacity... I am not sure where this falls on special ammo exotics at large, I would probably never take it into high end duties, but it gets the job done and is more fun to use than some other exotics that are collecting dust in my vault. I just hate how only hunters can use it. I thought we left that "class locked exotic" stuff back in destiny 1.

With Medieval Champion, I'd imagine it would be fairly powerful this season. But there's just not many use cases for it in high end content compared to something like Voltshot, and there's no Arc Surge this season regardless. Still much better than it's given credit for, and just as fun, though.

I don't know why the chain lightning doesn't just occur more often. Glaives biggest weakness is lack of any waveclear, so having one with lots of AoE damage would be really welcome, but right now this Glaive is just too limited in how little it can proc the Chain lightning. With Nezarec's Whisper giving you another Arc Glaive option, it feels even harder to recommend using up an exotic slot to take this in Season 17, despite the buffs.

At least the other two exotic glaives have interesting niches that fit their respective classes, even if they aren't that good. This is just both uninteresting and not nearly worth the exotic slot. Hopefully it receives some more love in the near future.

Really fun in PvE. Not as useful with build synergy as Edge of Action. But really fun with Arc Hunter, can't wait for the S23 reworks.

If you know how to use a glaive, this will serve you well. It's a choice between this or Judgement Of Kelgorath. I choose this. It's perfect.

This is extremely underwhelming. Just use Enigma or the titan/warlock exotic Glave unless this exotic gets a rework/buff. Thanks.

The increase in fire rate (compared to the Enigma) is nice but the lose in damage hampers that. The exotic ability itself is just a waste of the shield. It takes a long time to set up with little reward. All this while suffering from the downside glaives already have makes this a waste.

This is definitely the worst glaive; even with the recent buff that means that only 4 shots are needed to activate, it still just isn't worth it. 4 shots is a lotta ammo, and all you get is a trinity ghoul shot, but you do less damage and it uses special ammo. At that point legit just use trinity and use a special weapon actually worth using. In pvp just skip it you are just giving free riskrunner power.

If this could activate it's exotic perk from melee kills instead of ranged shots, I would consider using it, otherwise Trinity Ghoul and Riskrunner do everything it does better.

PvP field review:

Edge of Concurrence provides a unique playstyle that complements the Hunter playstyle quite well.

The weapon is set up to be a rapid-fire Glaive, which won't be too obvious to your opponents at first glance. The high rate of fire allows for the kill to be secured more consistently than other archetypes, at the cost of reduced damage and range (which also reduces projectile speed). Because of this, rapid-fire glaives are better suited for their ability to score quick ranged kills instead of melee attacking.

The exotic perk allows the weapon to consume a full shield meter to fire a bolt of lightning, which creates a homing Arc wave along the ground similar to a Wave Frame Grenade Launcher. The direct hit from the initial lightning bolt deals enough damage to be a one-shot, while the wave itself deals enough heavy damage to leave untouched opposing Guardians at low health.

Since none of the exotic Glaives provide any exotic effects to the melee attack or shield, my recommendation focuses more on getting the most out of your projectiles. Start by stacking three Lucent Blades mods on your chest armor to maximize your shield gain. Marksman's Dodge serves as a great way to get a breather during a close range duel, while Mask of Bakris works for early engagement surprises.

A particular favorite of mine involves launching Tempest Strike and following up with the Glaive's lightning bolt. Although not optimal, it's very stylish.

Underwhelming. Sorry to say its not worthy of an exotic spot unless by some small miracle when more perks open up its better. But I'm not convinced that will be the case. And as someone stated grinding for that dumb auto to finish this quest, just disappointing.

It's like a blasted Enigma that cosplays as a trinity ghoul but fails miserably. Trinity ghoul is a primary with infinite ammo and you don't even have to aim at all and you can use the lightning instantly. And Enigma does everything an exotic glaive does (except the exotic trait) but faster and better and does not waste an exotic slot on top of it.

Enigma is useful since it's essentially 1000 resilience plus a heavily improved version of pre-nerf protective light, practically ON DEMAND, when you need it.
The titan exotic for swords is like a baby variant of glaives' shielding power and glaives are also way easier to use and on top of this can also suppress enemies which makes them even more broken and braindead.
