This review is to compare the six non-sunset Rapid-Fire Frame Auto Rifles currently available to farm. Arctic Haze (AH) from Europa world drops, Reckless Oracle (RO) from GoS Raid, Sweet Sorrow (SS) from Season 16, Chroma Rush (CR) (originally from Season 14) from Dares of Eternity, Krait from world drops, Rufu's Fury (RF) from Root of Nightmares Raid, and Dark Decider (DD) from Iron Banner Season 19. You should decide if you like the gun yourself since the feel of a gun is much more important than the stats.

Stat comparison:
Range - RF highest at 34, Krait at 33, RO at 26, DD & CR at 25, AH at 24, SS at 23. DD can pull rangefinder which makes it higher than Krait when ADS.
Stability - Krait & RF highest at 58, RO & CR at 56, SS at 54, DD at 49, AH at 48.
Handling - Krait highest at 44, AH, RO & SS at 42, RF at 41, DD at 39, CR at 35
Reload Speed - RO highest at 55, Krait at 53, RF at 50, AH at 48, CR & SS at 47, DD at 46
Aim Assist - RF highest at 82, SS at 81, CR at 80, Krait at 78, AH & RO at 75, DD at 72. DD can pull rangefinder which increases ADS Aim Assist higher than SS.
Zoom - SS highest at 17, all others at 16
Aerial Effectiveness - RF highest at 22, Krait at 15, SS at 12, AH, RO, DD & CR at 10
Recoil Direction - SS highest at 57, Krait & RF at 56, CR at 45, DD at 43, AH at 42, RO at 41
Perks - DD stands out with Iron Banner perks & new Voltshot as well as Golden Tricorn and Rangefinder not found on any other mentioned Auto Rifles.

Summary: Dark Decider does not fare well against other Rapid-Fire Auto Rifles when strictly comparing stats, however it offers new arc utility with Golden Tricorn and Voltshot as well as increased stability, range, or aim assist with featured Iron Banner Perks and Rangefinder.

Rolls I personally want is Full Bore + Accurized + DSR + Rangefinder for PVP. Arrowhead + TacMag + Subsistence + Golden Tricorn/Voltshot for PVE. Light those fires, Yung Wolf.

Honestly, near-dead on arrival. Stats PALE in comparison to its in-slot competition, Sweet Sorrow, and even if you tap on something like Rangefinder, all Sweet Sorrow needs to catch up to that range is something like Smallbore. Iron Grip and Iron Range are trap perks, the stat losses aren’t worth it on a gun with low base stats already.
The ONLY reason I could see people going for this is Voltshot. But it’s at odds with Veist Stinger. And guess what? Autos are often paired with SMGs in the artifact nowadays, and the Ikelos SMG ALSO gets Voltshot. And it feels much much nicer.

If you like this weapon, more power to you, and it’ll put in work. But for those who care about stats, pass on this one. Go focus Gunnora’s Axe instead.

I got a roll with Dynamic Sway and Voltshot, a really great option for PVE. With that extra stability and such a large magazine this gun is a real bullet hose, in my opinion it's an Arc version of Ammit AR2 in terms of usage. Use Veist Stinger as well and it's golden.

Honestly, a very underrated gun! And now in season 20, with Sweet Sorrow being unobtainable (with Psiops focusing being gone? Maybe it is still a world drop...), and other 720 RPM options being harder and unpredictable to farm, Dark Decider fits a specific niche. I personally think it's fantastic, albeit with certain unique perk combinations. With a TTK of 0.75 it goes toe-to-toe with many popular Season 20 crucible guns (eg. Immortal and Ikelos SMG)! I won’t focus much on all it’s perks, just the ones that make it unique.
As previously mentioned by people, there are lots of guns that can match or outclass Dark Decider. But, play-styles vary wildly from guardian to guardian, and some (like myself) might find this gun to be a blast. Given that rapid frame auto rifles can be hard to come by (if you don’t raid or do activities around Europa), Dark Decider is very easy to farm/focus during Iron Banner for anyone interested. I love off-meta weapons so let’s delve into it!

PVP
Iron Grip (IG) + Iron Reach (IR) are two very silly perks on their own, but when combined, it creates something special. Both perks compensate for each others pitfalls. Where IR gives +20 range/-30 stability, IG gives +20 stability/-30 reload. Yes, the reduction in reload speed feels bad but a single Arc Loader mod in your gloves makes it feel like normal again. A single reload mod adds 10 reload, but reduces the reload animation by 15%. But this is besides the point because this auto rifle has 50 bullets in the magazine. That’s a lot and tends to not leave you with your pants down. You can feed a guardian, and their friends, very healthy portions of lead. Another popular perk would be Rangefinder, instead of IR. The boost in range is essential to allow this gun to challenge some HC and rapid pulse rifles, while out-ranging sidearms and SMG. Offhand Strike (OFS) is also OK, but it feels weird to hipfire an auto rifle. The 50% increase in damage falloff from OFS essentially makes the gun hipfire at ranges that are almost the same as ADS. But at that point you might as well just ADS. If you put on Freehand grip mod with OFS, you get some crazy good accuracy when hipfiring, but when targets are at a far range, it does get difficult to land your hits because of the recoil.
What I find particularly fun with Dark Decider (and auto rifles in general) is that it is a jack-of-all-trades weapon (but master of none). It fairs fine in short-medium range, but can also (in the right scenario) take some medium-long range engagements. It’s great for players that like to adapt and switch up play styles, while not changing their loadout. If you’re looking for an energy rapid-fire frame AR for dueling, Dark Decider can get it done.

PVE
A lot of fun if you get Dragonfly, Golden Tricorn, or Voltshot. The add clear is great, the damage buffs are great, and when you combine neutral perks like subsistence, dynamic sway (for controller), or well-rounded, it makes the gun feel stronger and more reliable.

Overall, Dark Decider is a rapid-firing and satisfying gun to use, and can counter current PvP metas while not being meta itself. It’s PvE performance is more than adequate for any end-game content. Auto rifles don’t get a lot of love outside of PvE, but this is one that can definitely bring some heat to the Crucible. Plus, it’s far easier to farm/focus than other 720rpm auto rifles (ie. Rufus’ Fury, Arctic Haze, Krait), if you happen to catch Iron Banner while it is running.

Great weapon for PvE. Subsistence + Golden Tricorn is what I'm aiming for on a Storm Titan. Bungies keeps on giving us super cool Veist weapons that actually feel so fun to use.

Subsistence and Voltshot is more of a meme roll with no synergy but it's still really fun. Mow through 10 ads, reload, shoot a major with voltshot.

My god do I love this weapon. As an arc auto rifle it really does everything I could ever want it to, with good ad-clear options and solid pvp rolls there really isn't anything missing here. But those stats... It simply can't compete with weapons such as sweet sorrow. Despite this, because of the arc synergies that it offers with perks such as voltshot and golden tricorn, as well as some awesome consistency perks like dragonfly and subsistence, I simply can't trash on this weapon. It is a niche choice, but a solid weapon for its purpose. This is a gun that I would give 4.5 stars to if I could, but considering that isn't an option, I'll give it 5 in pve and 4 in pvp, because I find its pve value to be more relevant than its pvp value.

As this is going to be removed from the pool next season I would like to bring up one major thing about this weapon and Voltshot but more specifically, Jolt. Now yes, it has no reload perk that pairs well like the Ikelos SMG does in which you can keep getting Voltshot up to clear a group of red bars.

HOWEVER there is one key thing to keep in mind with Voltshot and it's that it Jolts targets. What this means is that when you shoot a tougher enemy that can withstand that initial Voltshot/Jolt burst it is now in a Jolted state in which it zaps nearby targets doing periodic damage with sustained hits. Anything killed by this will grant you Voltshot upon reload.

Along with Veist Stinger, I think some are sleeping on this weapons potential. Being able to continuously shoot a major or champion while also shocking enemies near it felt pretty good. Any activity in which a tough enemy spawns near adds I think can benefit from the 50 mag size and origin trait this weapon has. I'm personally sitting on a DSR + Voltshot roll that just simply makes it feel good while I'm holding down the trigger. Almost feels like a pocket Thunderlords.

PvP has some decent perks but I haven't used it enough to give a solid opinion so I'll leave it at 3 stars.

Prefer Dynamic Sway + Voltshot than Subsistence + Voltshot, coz voltshot need reload to active, subsistence may may your mag full and cant reload

Dark Decider ends up looking worse than it actually is when taken out of context.

"sTaTs are wOrSe than aNy oThEr 720 rpm" is true enough. But how much does that actually matter, really? It's still a fast firing, fast reloading Veist - very forgiving.

The Dark Decider is not an S tier weapon, but it's plenty good enough for both PvE and general PvP. And it's not just about Voltshot; see Rangefinder and Golden Tricorn for reliable perks that help in any gamemode.

I'm a big fan of the aesthetic although your results will vary of course. Just know that it's hardly a crime to use this auto rifle.

Arc version of krait and other similar reskinned guns with better perks and better in pve than pvp honestly can be decent in pvp with right rolls but gutshot is not the roll unless it's enhanced and subsistence voltshot also 2 great perks but don't go great together because have to reload to proc voltshot be better off with dynamic sway

It has some okay rolls, but I feel like Sweet Sorrow is the better choice for PVE in the same energy and archetype; it just has much better perk options (stats for all, one for all for example), better base stats, AND it's craftable.

So this gun is an insta-shard for me. Maybe I'll keep a voltshot roll just for fun, but without a reload speed perk in column 3, it's not optimal.

Can't really talk about PVP, since I only play PVP to get pinnacles and to finish some of the seals. So I'm leaving the PVP score blank

This gun has worse stats than every other sunset and non sunset rapid fire frame auto rifle and a mostly mediocre perk pool. Fortunately, it has two very good perk combos that make up for both of these things, subsistence + voltshot for PvE and dynamic sway reduction + rangefinder for PvP.

I’ve spent about 500 shards and haven’t gotten a single useable roll, so good luck to everyone else.

Well you def wasted your shards honestly bc not only do those rolls drop fairly often I know I've gotten 4 or 5 subsistence voltshots to drop but they also don't work together and rangefinder isn't even good anymore you don't get the aim assist boost and extra range is negligible

Base stats are uniformly worse than fellow 720rpm arc auto Sweet Sorrow (which can be crafted). It has 2 higher range stat but lower zoom so it starts with 1m less range. Low base stability and 43 recoil direction is going to make this feel quite bad in PVP. DSR is a nice consistency perk but not enough to make up for its other problems. You can get good on-paper range with rangefinder (or iron reach, if you dare) but it's going to feel bad shooting out that far with such low stability and bad recoil. You'd be better off spec'ing into recoil and stability, but at that point you should just be using Sweet Sorrow which can do it better.

In PVE, voltshot is a fun perk and everybody likes the Veist origin perk. But I wouldn't suffer too much if you don't like IB just to get this when the Ikelos SMG is available with voltshot (along with some other arc weapons). Ultimately it's still an auto rifle which has a solid argument for worst PVE primary weapon type.

Has the potential to be the best PVP and PVE 720 Auto Rifle to ever come to the game. Has Voltshot which is an S tier perk in PVE, and Dynamic/Rangefinder or Iron grip/Rangefinder for PVP.
