Added in Season 20TIP: New Season & Popularity Ranks
It's a new season! Popularity ranks can change rapidly at the start of a new season, especially on new weapons.
Be careful jumping to conclusions for a week or so as the meta starts to shake out.
TIP: Popularity Ranks
The letters F thru S below are Popularity Ranks. They measure how popular your roll is versus the most popular roll for this weapon among the global community. The most popular roll is ranked S+. The least popular is ranked F-. Popular doesn't necessarily mean "good"; unpopular doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Use what you enjoy!

TIP: API Perk Swap
The Bungie API now allows us to swap weapon perks for you*. Click individual perks below to swap them in-game. Click "Equip Popular Perks" to pick the perks that result in the highest popularity rank (if you're not already using them).* You must be in orbit, a social space, or logged off.
Plus, on a purely personal note, this thing is just sooooo fucking sexy to shoot and look at. I mean, you got a silencer, it's modeled like a USP; what more can a man ask for?
Here's what you're packing:
- 18 meter range
- 100 aim assist with 1 targeting helmet mod and Targeting Adjuster
- 100 recoil direction with Extended Barrel
- 67 stability (solid for flinch resistance and consistency)
- 23 AE (quite respectable, particularly in the context of its Aim Assist)
- Top precision TTK of any legendary primary, with a strong body shot TTK
- Anyone who damages you has to deal with Eye of the Storm
- Anyone trying to follow up a dead ally who damaged you is also dealing with Skulking Wolf
(And you shouldn't sleep on Skulking Wolf at all. Radar invisibility with no aural cue will mentally mess with a lot of players. Even in the worst case scenario where your opponent is aware of it, you're also gaining an informational advantage on your opponent with the enhanced radar.)
What this all adds up to is an incredibly consistent weapon for short-medium range combat that has two significant clutch advantages. This is just a stellar example of the kind of weapon you want to bring into high end PVP.
This brings you to a nice 17.25 meters of range and Gutshot will make the sidearm more forgiving since you tend to hit body shots with them anyways. As far as a mod goes I'm gonna say Full-Auto but once it becomes a setting then I'd say Targeting Adjuster.
Has solid PVP viability but in PVE I tend to avoid kinetic sidearms as I find the biggest advantage of sidearms to be quick elemental reactions.
Personally I'll be looking to pick up one of these two rolls.
General Feel : Small Bore / Tactical Mag / Rangefinder / Eye of Storm
Range : Hammer Forged / Accurized Rounds / Rangefinder / Eye of Storm
I want to try Gutshot but to be honest I am getting way more headshots with this gun than I expected to.
It's semi-auto, has good rolls, looks like a proper pistol, and doesn't take up screen real estate. Sounds crisp too, it's not the typical dart sound you normally get with suppressed weapons.
My only complaint is the sights. Varies from FOV to FOV but where most people play 80-95, it's not ideal. No issues whatsoever in PVE, a fierce piece of kit in PVP.
Hammer-forged + steady rounds + rangefinder + iron reach.
The one I have rolled with Chambered Compensator, Steady Rounds, Rangefinder, and Iron Reach, and it's an absolutely phenomenal dueling weapon. It has a dang-near perfect balance of range and stability, with the combination of Steady Rounds and the Stability MW almost completely negating the stability penalty from Iron Reach, bringing the stat to 72 total. Considering it has a pretty healthy base stability of 67, this is amazing considering the Iron Reach penalty, and it makes it very easy to get consecutive crits (which is aided by the high aim assist and a recoil direction of 100 with this roll). The combo of Rangefinder and Iron Reach means it doesn't start experiencing damage falloff until a bit over 17 meters, which is very healthy for a sidearm. Steady rounds also brings the gun's airborne effectiveness to 45, and combined with your exotic of choice, airborne play is greatly aided by this weapon.
I think you could argue that Gutshot or Eye of the Storm might be more valuable perks in the second column, but I'm very, very happy with this roll as-is. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed using a sidearm this much. Bravo, Bungie.
Get one when possible if you love sidearms like me
