Pourtant, les énergies de la Pyramide étaient celles de la création. Pas de la vie en soi, mais de quelque chose d'autre. Le chaos, la négation et les choses brutes qui existaient dans les espaces entre la pensée et la peur. Ces mécanismes terribles étaient totalement incompréhensibles et continuellement attrayants. Les Filles convoitèrent bientôt avec veulerie la promesse contenue dans l'inconnu sans bornes. Si les grandes essences du Roi de la subjugation et de son Prince de l'annihilation entêté avaient véritablement été dissipées, alors les Filles découvriraient de nouvelles voies dans les ténèbres leur permettant de régner au nom de leurs ancêtres. Et si la logique de l'épée requérait le sang de tous les prétendants, elles fabriqueraient un champion digne du trône du Destructeur, mais lié par leurs sinistres desseins. Leur grand-père n'approuverait pas cette façon de faire, la ruse et la tromperie ayant été la voie d'un autre, mais les Filles étaient seules, et la Nuée sur le déclin. Kinox poussa ses sœurs à agir, Hashladûn offrit l'essence primordiale de la terreur en guise de guide, et Besurith et Voshyr apportèrent la coquille brisée d'un champion déchu, un ravageur qui résisterait à tous les opposants à leur règne. Une nouvelle génération de destructeur.
